My names danny, this is my first pg &c thread. Been on 2+2 for a while but sadly only just found this section and I like it alot. Decided to give it a wack to help with my documentation (as I currently keep track in a notepad app on my phone) and maybe get some helpful feedback/tips along the way.

So like the title says the initial goals are to clear $25,000 profit in live mtts ranging from $250-600 in buy ins. Started really focusing on my live tourny game mid last yr and found some solid results toward the end of the yr so decided to set the optimistic goal of 25k. I'd say I'm up about 8-10k lifetime with a relatively small sample size.

Cash games I have been much less focused about but Now that my mtt game has improved im looking to definitely increase my cash game studying . I thought a goal of having a positive hourly rate after 100 hrs of play would be a solid goal for me as with a full time job and a girlfriend 100 hrs cash game should take me till mid yr ish to accomplish.

since it's only Jan 20 th there's not much to report on the cash game side, but I did get a little binksky on my tournament resume to get that goal started off right.
Was a $300 25 k gtd. 130 ppl , chopped 4 handed as chipleader for $5400 on one bullet. Had swapped a lil action so I cleared $3700 profit.

Yesterday I played the mlk $300 30k and went out 65th of 230 for nada on 2 bullets. Sold some action so net loss -400.

So the goals will begin ITT as :

If anyone has any recommendations on helpful cash game training videos. Particularly cash game strategy in opposition to tournament strategy would be very helpful to me. Any assistance much appreciated

So the weekend started bad. Was heading to the $300 25k on Saturday which i chopped 2 weeks ago around 9am . Was snowing and not greatest conditions So I was debating not going but of course ultimately I decided to go . It's about an hr trip and 20 mins in I go off the side of the highway and luckily didn't total my car. Minor damage and had to be put back on road by a tow Cuz my tires are bald as a ****ing q ball. So I was out $100 with the tow b4 even getting to casino so I decided to turn around and continue the venture the next day lol

So sunday I head there and actually made it lol I played 2 $110 tournys totaling $220 and min cashed in one for $120. For a loss of $100. I also played an hr of cash ($1-2). Very first hand of a new table I double up +$200 with kq on a run out of q862k I jam on river get a call from q8. Stack peaked @ $425 but left with $150 after 3 consecutive top pair top kicker losses to set, flush , and rivered 2 pair....did I mention I hate cash lol

Excited for this weekend and the card plyr poker tour. Playing a $600 100k, a $250 25k ( hopefully I can't play due to being in day 2 of $600 lol) a $500 50k, and I won a free $200 satelitte ticket , which if I don't win a seat with I will be buying into 1 or 2 sattys myself to try and get into the $1650 main event. Will be a poker filled next 2 weekends for me. Will either put a big dent into my yearly total or really spike it lol

5 levels into day 1 of the $600. Avg 24k I have about 34k. Made a nice Lil call/KO with Kj on a 55108j board. I raise pre 4 callers. Flop checks around. Turn I bet 1200 2 callers river I bet 2200 guy Jams 7500 I decide to call and look him up, but he mucked when I showed and since I eliminated him I didn't care to c what he had.
Goal is to make day 2 with avg or above stack

Peaked @ 64k @ 300-600. Lost two hands with top pair and now I'm down to about avg 33k 330 entered 170 left 40 mins until dinner brake

Went out in 45th. 36 got paid. Ran 15 bbs with 77<kq queen in the window for a solid day 2 stack 50 mins from end of day 1. Ah well on to the next one. $250 event 2 today

Event 2 $250 buy in today. 109 entrants. 36 left. Avg 42k up to about 100k 12 getting paid

109 entrant 20 ppl left, 12 get paid. Avg 85k got about 140k. 7k up top

Stone bubbled , 13th place my kq suited <1010

So 1 entry to event 1 and 2 entries into 2 for a total of 1100.
1100 x1.2= 1320. Minus 40% from backers
+ bubble boy money $(280)
I dropped $512 this weekend.

The $3100 has come from about 60 hrs for an
Hourly of about $52/hr so far.

Going to be trying to satelitte into the $1650 cppt main event for tomorrow and Saturday and if I don't make it in will be playing $500 50k on sunday.

Need to update when I get a minute. Had a $120 loss over 1 hr. And another cash session just now + 300 in 1 hr. and down $300 from the tourny profits

the - $300 in tournies came from trying to satty into the main and was over about 10 hrs.
been a rough couple weeks with tournies. got a $600 100k GTD coming up this weekend and im feeling good/playing good and im due, a good combo lol

the 2 cash game session had 2 of the bigger pots i've played live so far (not saying much as ive prolly played less then 50hrs of live cash all time lol )

1st session Minus $120.

bought in for $120 got up to $215, told myself id be leaving in 5 hands, only made it to the 2nd hand lol my KQdd couldnt hold up on a 924ddd2x10d in a 3 bet pot pre.
guy some how has 24 , pot was $550 ish lol gg.

then session today, buy in for $140, get up to $185 ish and then had this beauty lol
dealt 77 and raise to $7 , 5-6 callers. flop 4s7x10s, check check , i bet $16, 2 callers.
turn 10x. first guy bets $45, i jam my $160 ish remaining, 3rd guy insta shoves over me
and initial guy who opened fold a 10 face up. other guy has K10 and river thankfully is a blank. pot was $460 ish. session finally put a win in the cash game column and puts me green for the yr

played 2 mtts fired 3 bullets into a $60 tourny only to donk off a 3rd place stack by misreading my cards and go out in 8th place for a min cash $110. Then played a $30 buy in 2k gtd with 108 ppl. And chopped 3 handed for $450. Total buy ins $210 , winnings $560 and about 10 hrs .

Last night had sweet cash session, bought in for $150 left with $432 for a $282 profit. after being down to 70 . Biggest hand was aq spades in sb my stack was about 190. Utg raises to 12 and got 5 callers before me so I flat. Flop k106 2 clubs. Shockingly it checked around (table was aggro as ****) on turn I bink my jack (Diamonds) giving me the nuts on the board. Checks to me I bet $25 into about $80. Guy insta jams about $160 and it folds back to me and I make the easy call. I tell him I have the nuts and he says "or course you do" and throws his k10 across the table and walks out. lol river blank .

Mtts still running not great. played the $600 100k this weekend. had 60% of myself . 270 entered 36 got paid. Get to dinner brake wirh 92 ppl with slightly below avg stack 42k ish I believe avg was 51k from 20k ss. One of first hands back from brake, blinds 400-800. Loose guy Utg raises 2100 and gets 3 callers before me so I call With 55 . The bb calls behind me. Flop 45q rainbow. Original raiser bets 6200, I raise to 14k bb ships it in for more then I have behind . Raiser asks for count and folds and I make the easy call. He has 45. turn 4 for a sweat lol and river blank. So now I'm @ like 90k avg 54k. Prolly top 20 stack of the 90 remaining. About 10 hands later I'm in the bb with qq blinds were either 4-8 or 500-1000 but someone raised 2500 and there were 3 callers I raise to 11k. Someone calls and then someone ships like 43k, I figured it was a premium hand but not kk or aa. And that hopefully the other caller was sharing cards. He had Ak, and A in the ****ing window and it holds. This woulda put me @ 150k, 3x avg and a top 3 stack @ the time. But couldn't win the flip. On to the next one, just gotta keep playing optimal and the results will come. So ended up busting 68th, my 77 <qq so minus $350 from mtts in about 6 hrs.

Last night I played a crazy ass cash session . For only playing an hr the swings were nuts, every hand i played ended up being a 2 pair or better hand. Gonna try and post the coolest hhs. Went from down 100 bbs to up 50bbs.

And rather then raise and scare him off I wanted to call to allow for more action behind me but also to allow the first guy to hopefully hit 2 pair or something. One more caller behind me the pot now has about $100 ish. the turn is king of clubs, bringing a 2nd club so flush and str8 draws now possible. so I say "u got kq" he says nope, shows kk.... ****kkk lol $480 ish pot. 1st hand I played guy catches a 2 outer essentially. the hand played itself , I'm never getting him off kk on the flop, nor do I want to as I Will win the 95% of the time. So although I said to myself if I lost my buyin I would leave, I felt the fact that this was the first hand I played and was a cooler (cards played themselves) that madr it more reasonable to rebuy. I don't tilt when I didn't make a mistake so I thought it a +ev decision. . So I hit the atm and sit back down. New dealer says I have to buy blinds. Thought this was bull**** as I had busted 5 mins ago and came right back but im glad I posted lol so I'm dealt 88 and I check my option when it comes to me hoping to call a raise of 12 or under. About 7 ppl see the flop $14 in pot and it comes Kq8 2 diamonds. guy who just busted me bets 6 I raise to 20 and him and one other call. So I'm thinking their ranges look something like ak , kq, j10, kj, 910dd,and basically any decent 2 diamond hand. pot on the turn is $75 ish and its a none diamond ace. This still hit the j10 so I check intending to check call. Guy bets 30 and we both call. River pot $160 and it's a king, giving me a boat but also giving kq or ak a boat. So check to Me I bet $50 , first guy folds, guy who had just busted me snap raises to $100 so @ this point I say **** it if he's got a better boat I'm gonna pay him off And jam knowing hell snap call which he does. I say boat and he says it's good and shows me k5dd thank god lol. if I lose that hand it woulda been 2 buy ins lost in 2 played hands lol

dealt AA, board comes j4810A 4 diamonds . Me and other guy hu for about 120 pot and some how my hand is good.

dealt K9 board come k107 I bet call call. Turn 9 I bet call call. River 3rd diamond and a jack putting 4 to a str8 and we all check guy had JQ and wins 140 ish pot .

dealt AK raise to $12 pre, 5 callers. Flop ak2 2clubs. checks to me I bet $25 and 3 folds, one guy Jams for 70 next guy jams for 90. Im sitting with like $590 @ the time so dealer is telling me to wait to act while she counts the 2 stacks and I'm telling her don't bother I call both regardless of count lol so ik one is on clubs I'm hoping they both are. sadly one has ak like myself and the other has 109cc obv runner runner club for a $345 ish pot.

Dealt 69dd in sb, limps around or a min raise to 5 with like 4 callers. So I limp or call whichever it was. Flop 962 rainbow. So I bet 10, guy raises to 30, I re raise to 85. He tanks for a while and calls. @ this point I'm hoping he's not trapping with a set and hoping he has like 1010 or jj. Turn is k of diamonds giving me redraw @ flush and I was first to act and after thinking about the session I made a mistake here. I jammed my 300 thinking he had a good enough hand to call whatever j bet and he folded 92 face up. I feel I coulda got value from 2 streets betting $100 then $150 ish . Took down the $200 ish pot but def noted for next time to go more value based as the shove didn't make much sense to me afterward. He's prolly only calling that bet with a set , maybe aces. In hindsight with the redraw I prolly shoulda checked made it look like I didn't like his call and let him fire @ it. Afterwards he told me he wanted to fold to my 3b on the flop so I don't think he would continued but just def will play this situation different in the future.

So with all these monstrous pots in an hr. I peaked @ 650 ish and left with $510 for a $110 profit in an hr.

might jump into a 2/5 game this weekend. Haven't decided for sure yet.

Took a brake from updating as I went on a minor cold streak with Mtts and was unable to Make it to the casino for most of may-July . Hit the tournies again on August 1st and it looks like the brake did me good lol

So early August I chopped a $60 tourney heads up for $690. I then played wsop event 1 $580 @ Foxwoods . Bust my first bullet with flush over flush . That day I had a $600 profit session in 1-2 so fired again day 1c and ended up taking 5th of 1450 for 33k and my biggest cash to date. Certainly reaches my 25k profit goal for the yr. going to bump to 100k and hope I can put in a good last 4 months
