Hi guys. My name is Nuno and im 22 years old. Im currently studying business on what was supposed to be my last year and I'm also doing a stand up course which is another dream of mine. Already told my family that I don't wish to get a job after college and that had other dreams to pursue so this is a turning point in my life which will tell if im going to be a sucessful.

Poker

I'm gonna finish reading harrington's tonight and start playing tomorrow. Going to start at NL5 with 26BI. As far as goals go, Im just gonna be aiming at 150k each month(~5k hands per day) until the end of december. The pressure is on to show results and if in any case that doesn't happen I'll have to reevaluate things, not only poker but my life in general.

First day graph, realized that maybe 5k hands a day is a little too much. I still can't play A poker for very long sessions. Taking a pause for a coffee really helped out.

Saw yesterday "A Kid's Game: The Story of Online Poker" and related too so many things the players said about themselves that made me realize poker was the thing to pursue.

Played good abc poker today, proud. Feel like I have to improve my deepstack play.

This hand made me tilt, had to stop shortly after. Had a note on the fellow (Shoved turn w/ straightdraw 54 on 636A board).

First 5 days

Just have 3 things to point out:

- Gonna stop doing daily updates unless something interesting or unexpected happens;

- My initial goal of 150k hands/month was really ambicious , going to aim for 100k hands this month and reevaluate after.

- Always loved video games, I would always play them on the hardest setting available and didn't give up until it was beat. Right now the same thing is happening to me with poker, I think about it several times a day and sometimes dream about it. And I have to say that until this day is probably the hardest game I've ever played.

My computer broke down 2 days ago and had to get a new one. It has been so long since I had a good pc for gaming that I took some time off to play bioshock infite! So happy xD. Got back to poker today, my database and hand history are all gone. Gonna have to start from scratch but it's all good.

First month

This isn't actually the whole month, it's the volume I put in on my new pc.

- Did my first stand up show, it didn't go as expected just like in poker lol. People laughed the hardest when I messed up one of the jokes at the end of the number. It's a strange thing, I failed and felt embarassed but I got the urge to go back again.

- Pokerwise I'm gonna aim for 100k hands for November.

- Want to explore lucid dreaming and astral projection. Have been wanting to do this for a long time and decided this is the month to start.

Bankroll: 160$
October: +30$

Long time without posting!

Mainly I didn't feel like playing the whole month of november, and I felt really bad because I haven't accomplished any goal I set out to do in this challenge. I'll try to make a constant effort to put volume, setting a fixed number of hands per month doesn't work for me.

November Graph

Bankroll: 127$
November: -33$

After a long run of bad luck I got lucky this last two days and also cleared a 50$ bonus.

Bankroll: 300$

Going to start NL10 tomorrow

I think you might want to begin in another way to be successful. I think that volume wont bring it to ya. Try to learn the whole "read, play the player" concept by simply playing reg tables and trying to focus as much as you can(having all players noted, doesn't matter if it only would be a little things, like he didn't autorebuy, playing one table, akward stacksize and all that stuff). Push yourself a little beyond your comfort zone everyday (this might be hard at first, but as you grow as a poker player it will become much easier. The best things comes with hard work(not only spent hours at clicking buttons). i want you to succeed. Good luck!

I started opening more from late position, one thing that really helped me out was Verneer's book "Moving throught uNL 2010".

December is over and only played 6k hands on NL10. I missed class the whole semester and only now I realized that I want this year to be my last year (dont want to drag my degree another year). I'll try to study and play at the same time.

I'll post my objectives for this year:

- Reach supernova status.
- Beat NL10 and NL25.
- Start playing NL200 live at lisbon casino.

Today's Session

Felt like god had the magnifying glass and I was the ant. Started to play bad after that.

Started to read the mental game of poker, seems like it's going to be a very insightfull book. I'm happy with the volume at least, im aiming for goldstar this month hope I can do it while I study for the exams.

The tilt unfortunately didn't stop there. My bankroll is now at 150$ when not too many hours ago it was at 300$. I probably moved up too soon and my mental game is seriously lacking. Maybe I needed to have this setback, I dont know. Have to go back to NL5 and work on my game.

I'm still very bad at this game and that showed when I put in a little more volume than usual. Let's see how february unfolds.

Long time without posting! I pondered not to post again on my dream thread, seeing as it didn't turn out as I wanted. I didn't know what I was getting myself into and tought being a pro was going to be piece of cake after seeing how easy nl2 was. Man was I wrong!

Bankroll: 215$
February+March: +79

Apart from poker I started doing yoga and I recommend it to anyone. I have been going to the gym for 3 years and I feel my mental game benefits way more from yoga than just exercise. Just don't tell your male friends you've started to do yoga, they're going to make fun of you

Going to start nl10 again tomorrow.

Ok so after having a failed shot at NL10 ZOOM(-300$). I started at NL2 with 40$ bankrolls. These are the results from July and August.

This month starts and I set a goal to play more hands. I wake up a lot of days not feeling like playing but I make an effort to do so. When August ended I felt like not playing for a while to enjoy my results, but started day 1.

This was my month so far. I'm really not tilting in a sense that I dont yell or get angry, but make obvious mistakes like if I was monkeytilting. I feel sad afterwards.

Hey guys, a lot has happened since my last post. Right now im on vacation with my friends on algarve.

Pokerwise I moved my bankroll from pokerstars to full tilt and received a 100% bonus. It ends tonight(00:00), I'll probably move my roll to another site after that.

Online poker in portugal took a toll. The goverment now wants to tax online gambling and all the sites are shutting down temporarily until they can negociate a better deal. The thing is I'm not the most profitable player: made 580$ since the start of the challenge precisely 2 years ago. I can't and don't want to deal with a rake increase. Live poker has been on my mind for some time and I'm gonna take a shot at it.

Long time without posting. I retired for a year, I didn't think I would be writting again on this thread. I went on a spiritual search and took a yoga teacher course in california. I have a lot of projects in mind right now, poker is one of them.

Started playing on 14 dec

Poker was closed in Portugal for the longest time, it opened recently with pokerstars.pt.
