Just playing solid exploitative poker is enough for me

actually given COVID-19 and the fear created towards " touching cash" I believe that there will be a huge increase in demand on" electronic money" aka cryptocurrency

Pokerstars have new promotions that maybe indicating a new direction in rewarding players

So my chest target is usually 120.000 points = 1200$
Promotion says that I get chest 1, 2, 3 => 210$/ 1200$ thats extra 17.5% rakeback~ 2weeks
Lets be honest and ignore that we have a 0.001% chance to win a jackpot, NOT HAPPENING

Easily one of the worst month in poker

Absolutely disgusting last 2 weeks
Cant remember last time I run so bad, I think other players would have lost at least 50bi

Also this Locked Chest Challenge is a joke
I need to earn 120k points everytime I need to unlock a new chest from challenge and I was thinking I get 3 chests lol

it happens man. just variance. grind throught it
03-20-2020 , 09:38 AM
Have you thought about playing PLO cash to mix it up?
03-21-2020 , 09:14 AM
Played some NL25z yesterday to ease the pain, but got destroyed again by EV

33 buyins under EV at this point since downswing

So this is based on winrate 5.5bb over 1mln hands

So its very unlikely to hit 50bi downswing, but did managed to hit the ~35bi downswing over 30k hands

Will play again NL25z today till I manage to have a winning day

This just shows how important BRM is

Although it says that 30bi is enough I think we should always play a limit with at least 60bi

on second thought, maybe you should 4b KQo CO v SB
03-21-2020 , 11:58 AM
Isn't that more than 40BI's? Hang in there buddy
03-21-2020 , 03:32 PM
Probability does not work that way, now there is 38%(prob more) that your downswing will be 50bi
03-21-2020 , 04:09 PM
I think Im fine losing 50bi short-term and winning 500bi long-term
Have to look at the big picture: Fish/ Weak Regs that win short-term are more motivated to continue playing thinking their -EV plays could work long-term

Struggle is real

Nothing else to do but to continue playing

On some positive note:
a) still 10 days of playing this month
b) month still green
c) COVID-19 crisis should be over by mid april-early may

What I hate about online poker and zoom games
a) rake
b) no rakeback
c) NITS that play 19/14 or 22/18 => PARISTES that kill the game

Absolutely disgusting to see many nits playing poker that probably dont win more than 1bb
03-22-2020 , 08:04 PM
What are solid numbers? Is 22/18 THAT nitty? Really like your thread btw hope it turns around.
03-22-2020 , 09:52 PM
Still running below EV, still playing bad

Should have made so many folds...
This game is so easy, people are a joke
Paying face-up fish nits is the worst thing I can do in poker, giving them a reason to play... That is the reason my winrate is only 3bb EV this month
Tomorrow we continue destroying NL50z

As a online poker player you have the freedom to work from home and start whenever you feel like with the potential to make your own hr/$.
But there are days when variance kicks in and the way I see it you have to grind it through to deal with it, even if that means playing 12-14 hours
Not going to complain too much about variance, its a normal thing that should and will happen at some point because thats how math works.
Had a relax day yesterday. Interesting how that will affect my play and results today.

Grinding for ~20$/hour is tough if you want to make a living off poker. It's not a stable 20$/hour either. There is a type of cost when variance is involved. You also play like 190 hour months which is probably the way to go playing micros with a low hourly + variance. How does your country deal with tax on poker earnings?

EDIT: gambling legislation can easily destroy your career if you're not ready to move. Or online poker just dying for real.

its actually 25$ for me and a lot of hours
I also live in probably the cheapest country in Europe( Moldova) so yeah 4000 usd/ month is a good number here.
Not much legislation regarding online poker IF at all.
To be honest im sick of poker and really want to switch to another bussines and my option is just trading crypto( online).
The problem is you have to learn on your own the rules of the game to win longterm, because nobody is going to teach anything for free. I think there is a lot of upside trading crypto, but cant be really expensive when you are still learning it.
I think I learned a lot last 2 years and hopefully it will be alot better following months
So basically want to switch from poker to trading and other local bussines( agriculture, renting). This will probably happen in the following 2-5 years.

Just another fun day with fun fish nits. Just horrendous calls by them.
But at least Im having fun and the game feels like a freeroll.
Waiting to run like god to destroy these nits.
