I'm up to 421 now. Have 1.5days of work then I have 8 days off to put in more grind time.

Will be nice to play poker without work as I am feeling very tired the past month.

On a heater! Having days off has been amazing, I am enjoying poker so much more without being tired from work.

Had played 4 tables and was able to stay solid for 40mins but then I couldn't maintain as I was on a downswing and lost a big pot pot with a lot of equity. I then had a 5min break, regrouped and got back to the grind.

EDIT:

Want to add another goal. Put on some weight over the holidays.

dropped to 370

Was soul crushing but overall I am still running over EV so can't complain. Running under for the weekend.

I feel as though if I am not playing like a nit bot I lose. Guess I have to not get fancy in the micros.

Re: Poker comeback - PLO cash

Up to 430 now.

Went back to 1 table for a lot of my hands.

Starting to gain more confidence. I feel.that if I keep winning after a few months that I will feel that I can make money at poker again and play without fear.

Last time round it wasn't till I received coaching and moved up a couple stakes till I felt 100% as a professional.

This is only mainly impacting my session duration when winning as I find it harder to keep playing.

You seem way to nitty to make it in plo. YOu might want to go to 9 max holdem and play more tables to get in more volume and wait for premiums. Your gonna book small wins and have massive downswings especially 1 tabling online playing plo. Thats a recipe for failure. Not trying to discourage you but being scared, booking small wins, and now 1 tabling is the opposite of what you should be doing if you really want to do this as a career. You got to play a limit where your not scared to lose money and put in 2000 to 3000 hands a day or your not beating the variance. Doesn't matter how good you think you are. You wont beat variance in plo without a lot of volume. The downswings in plo are massive and there is no way around it your going to have big downswings in plo way bigger then holdem. So its unavoidable and you have to ask yourself at what limit can you actually deal with big downswings and stick to that limit to get the volume in the beat the variance over a full year.

Pretty sure the downswing will be smaller when 1 tabling compared to 4-6 tabling etc

How much rake have you paid? I know these gg graphs are pre rake. Low stakes plo rake is astronomical

Playing tight due to short stacking. I was 1 tabling that session to focus on my play, I will not be making a habit of it but I will do it occasionally. Yesterday I was 4tabling apart from when i wasn't able to due to 3 tables running.

I appreciate your input, my situation is a bit unique as I am not playing with my own money.

Spoke with backer. Will now be taking shots at plo100 short stacking. Feeling nervous but excited for the challenge. Hopefully I don't go bust!

Up to 454

might play another session in a few hours. Started off shot taking without bum-hunting, didn't have much choice though. Today there were more recs at the tables and I was running good. Till another day of hopefully no bust. Also took some adjusting to the new $ to BB conversion but seems to be all good now after 700 hands.

Pretty crazy swings. Hit my goal of 6k hands for the month set mid last month. I can still push this but want to give myself less pressure till my BR builds. I will always run 4 tables now if I can.

up to 682

Had a crazy pot that saved my session against 2 recs who were stacking off light.

I called bet from rec 1 with QdQTd2, got squeezed by rec 2. I was going to fold but thought they are both in pot so I will give this a go. Flop comes AQ2 with 2 spades. They both check. They have not slow played as far as I have seen so I shove, 1 of the recs calls, the other shoves over and folds the other rec out. He has top pair (thankfully not top set) and then I ship the big pot (big for a short stacker).

Had a downswing and on the mend up (plus EV).

Was a bit more exhausted than usual as I had some issues at work.
I do manage a team and one of the workers has been causing a lot of issues lately. Having poor attitude and entitlement. Hoping that he goes soon.
