Hey. Made a $1000+ steak dinner prop bet with a friend that I can win $15000 playing Power Up only within 6 months. Agreed to post results here.

Bet ends Nov. 13 - no restrictions other than I can't play higher than $30s should they add it and bets off if they get rid of it.

GL me.

3-handed SNGs, no limit hold'em, but you get additional powers that you can use to influence your hand or the board, look like this:

Maybe I'll dive a little deeper into it when interest is there. For now, just results.

Yes. This game is has very complex strategy to it and both the skill floor and skill ceiling are very high. Therefore attainable ROIs are huge, I know of people who have 15%+ ROI over thousands of them. People are sleeping on this game!

No games today, helped someone move for 9 ****ing hours and then homegame afterwards.

Probably gonna attack Sunday double time, so I advise you to take tomorrow off.

27. May - every intel showed them a pair, every blind upgrade gave them the nuts.. still up. Hilarious.

Even the regs in this game are absolutely terrible. There are like 3 people who have some kind of clue what they're doing. This is gonna be a fun challenge.

Week 1, total

A few games below what I wanted to achieve but I guess it's okay. Haven't been playing well today so better to start fresh tomorrow.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

28. May - yeah.. I have no one but myself to blame for this one. Uphill battle right from the start.. Do you know the feeling when you just know you're playing terrible but you can't help it even when you try really hard? Any remedies for that?

Special thanks go out to Art1 for saving the day towards the end though - you're truly the MVP! Keep playing.

Haha, well.. unfortunately this week so far doesn't shape up to be as good.

29. May - definitely still slacking badly and I know it. I pledge to get my **** back together. I blame the heat, I kind of rush through my games because I have plans in the evenings and stuff. Bad excuse, I know.

Oh well, let's see if we can turn it around.

By the way, I'm happy to discuss some strategy so if you happen to have questions, fire away. Until then I'll just keep posting results.

I thought power up is big joke, but after seeing your thread I tried to try them out. IN 0.25c. I smoothly took it down. Did the sick bluff once.
Sick bluff = shooting a random power, then snap river betting air (with power not helping me at all, lol), worked perfectly.

Really sick find how to make money, in subbed.

Hey your roi is impressive!
Did you grind your way from lower stakes or did you start directly at 15s I play at 3$ at sometimes 7$ and I remember your name? Im assuming you only play one table at a time right?

Hi, SKyReVo! How many tables you playing? And what do you feel about best time for play power up, what time you usually start your session?

Cool! I'm glad you like it, it's really fun. The opportunities to bluff are abundant in this game as you can represent the nuts much more frequently and credibly than in normal NLHE. Another fun thing to do is to bait out your opponent's good powers. For example you can keep two useless scanner cards and bet so that he has to get rid of them if he wants to continue.

Thanks. Well, I had a bankroll to play highest games from the start but I did start with 3s and 7s because back then 15s weren't a thing. I'm currently hoping the dev team will eventually give us some 30s to play, that'd be amazing.

Hey. I tend to play between 3 and 4 tables, more if 15s open. The $15s don't run very frequently so the best time to play is when there are other regs awake and grinding, usually in the evening (ET). That said, late night is suuuper soft so when you're just trying to make easy money 1-2 tabling or playing 7s, that's an option.

Off to grind now, see you in the evening.

Been waiting for a thread like this, GL!

I suck at it but my thinking is that a strong game theory player should be able to have a huge advantage in this game so please prove me right

30. May - *eye twitching intensifies* Yeah, this one was not on me. The things that happened to me today were... interesting. Really happy with my volume though, so there's that. On the positive side, can't run much worse than that so.. looking forward to tomorrow.

Hehe, I'll try. It's interesting, it'd probably be easier to make a legend hearthstone player a winning player in this game than a hyper HU reg, for example. There are so many concepts that are lent from strategy card games (cycling powers, mana management, value vs. tempo etc.) and poker concepts like pot odds and pot commitment are way less important.

A lot of things could be done with the concept if Stars wasn't slacking so much.

31. May - it's officially too hot to play. Seriously, it's midnight and it's still 26°C here. Don't get me wrong, I love this heat but whenever I start grinding I feel like my brain is frying inside my skull.

I bought a fan via overnight express, I hope I can get back on the grind with that.

Nothing much more to say. I appreciate everyone reading, so here's a question:

What would you want to read about with regards to strategy?
