Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyllo everyone,

I hope this post find u guys all super well and happy and having some well deserved time - off.

Ive been away from the forum for the longest time after i started this thread and i can defo say i missed it :P

I have been having way too much fun though so i guess its alright.

Before i write my last update for 2017 lets take a look at the goals ive put down in here on September and how i did.

1) play at least 1.000 mtts:
I played 880mtts /1000 which is ok-ish if you consider i have not played a game since 20/12.

2) try to qualify for a live event
Took some shots but didnt get there. Next

3)study/review session at least 1h/week and post any interesting hands
This i tried a lot and i did manage to do it for the most part of those 4 months. (failed a bit on December)

4)updates here at least 1time/week
Yes. 100% (except last 10 days - holidays)

5) try to win at least 4.000$ until Christmas
due to my last month's heater i managed to close those last 4 months +5.931$ which is cool but just not my main concern at the momment. Cant complain though obviously.

I re-read most of this thread yesterday night. I am really REALLY really happy that i started this thread.

Not only i gained valuable knowledge about this game we all love, but i also learned many things for myself and made some amazing "friends" in this forum. At least from my part. What else can I call people who repeatedly spent time of their lives in order to honestly help me become a better player and thinker, in a game that's sooooo competitive and pretty much ask for NOTHING in return.

@LittleGolliath, nomalice, abecede, Fenyr, Walmart and all of u guys who put your 2cents itt THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!

This post will be ALL over the place so forgive me in advance if something doesnt make sense. I write full of emotions atm so i ll try to be composed.

I am more than ready for 2018 and i am gonna give it my all to accomplish my goals.

I will make a very detailed post with dates, goals, millestones and plan for 2018 next weekend.

Past Few Days

I have been away from the online felt the past few days because i spent them all with my friends, my gf and my family all of which i adore and everything i do i also do it for them as well. Because i wanna be able to see them and enjoy time with them waaay more often in the future.

I went back to my home town, had an amazing lunch and dinner on Xmas day with my family, went on a day-trip at a local mountain for snowboarding and had an AWESOME time with my gf there. Played a home game with my absolute closest poker buddies which was super fun and in general i really enjoyed myself during these holidays.

I really hope with all my heart that 2018 will be an AMAZING year for you guys and i am gonna try HARD af to make it amazing for me as well.

Love, Health, Happiness and amazing experiences for 2018!

Happy New Year!!!

Wasup everyone!!

Lets put down sth in here cauze silence is deafening!!

I know i said that there would be a detailed post about new year last weekend but honestly couldnt find the time. Sry about that but now im here so lets recap this shieeet

As i was re-reading most PGC's of 2017 that ive subbed to, it was clear to me that my personal main focus and goal is still up 4 grabs and that my PGC will just continue as it was in 2017. There will be no "drastic changes" in here in terms of sidegoals etc but this isnt a bad thing 4 me atm.

As far as i see it, this year will have 2 completely different eras 4 me.

Era #1 "Approaching the 1st milestone"

January 2018 - May 2018
If someone's here 4 the 1st time, this challenge started May 2017 and was intially ment to be a 1-year challenge.
The 1st Official results of this journey in FULL detail will be posted in totals @ the end of May 2018

Due to my day-job, my grind schedule will remain the same as it was and 4 these 6 months i aim @ 3 sessions/week - 250mtts/month.

We ve started January in the greens which is always good ^_^

January 2018 week#1

Sessions: 3/3

Gym: 3/3

Study hours: 1/3*

*my most struggling isssue time-wise.

Era #2 "The Major league"

In June 2018 i would have a 1 year experience of consistent yet part-time grind and my 1st results. If things go well i would have to make a serious decision about this game and the impact it has in my life, based ofc on my results too.

What is more i will be facing 1-month-notice before my day-job's contract expires (July 2017) and given the chance, the option to renew it to a permanent one or exit the "corporate-lifestyle".

This may look "scary" atm but hopefully i will make an informed decision when time comes and try my best after that.

My personal minimum to leave this somewhat "easy" day-job is 2x my yearly profits. Any thoughts/recommendations on this part are welcomed

My thoughts are:

● Same with day- job annual profit: Keep my day-job and continue playing part time as a side income

● 1,5 - 2,5x day-job annual profit: Consider it really carefully and discuss it extensively with fellow local poker-pros about going all in.

● >2,5x day-job annual profit: i think this amount is "safe" enough to decide to go all in with poker.

As i said i will appreciate your 2cents on the above thoughts.

Ok so this is it i guess. Schedule update every Monday with weekly results ^_^

Peace all!

January 2018 - Week#2

Sessions: 3/3

Gym: 2/3

Study hours: 0/3 (getting ridiculous)

Holla chicos!!!

First week of January was quite cool and so was this second one!!

The bad stuff:

I have been slacking BIG in regards of study hours and this seems to be my biggest issue atm. I am really concerned about this as lately things have been going well at the tables, so my work away from them has been close to 0. I really hate this!

I enjoy the process of studying and getting better and i feel like ive learned ZERO new things lately. I ve not been marking hands and even if i do im like "i ll check em later", but "later" never comes. I dont even wanna mention the last time i watched a poker video. This has to end and probably i will make one of these "freeroll challenges" that i see other PGC'ers do in their threads, if i fail at this 1 more week.

Things are going decent at the tables but i honestly dont feel like i am doing my best. Far from it actually. I probably am hit with good variance atm so i wanna study more NOW rather than on a downswing-y period.

The good stuff:

I really enjoyed the pca stream and watching a PGC hero run so deep and played so well! Shoutout to Mike aka "Walmart"!

I am also getting back on truck with my gym workouts and that feels great!!

What is more, i watched the movie "Molly's game" last week..Anyone contemplating watching this movie i couldnt recomend it more!! I really enjoyed it! Its sooooooooo much more than poker! Some serious life lessons in this movie! I would watch it again easily!!

Alright thats it for now amigos! I dont have any particular plans for this week just yet so maybe i will update once more be4 next Monday in here.

Peace out boyz!

Edit: Lmk if you read my previous post and what you think is the appropriate "x" amount reached in regards of yearly profit from poker VS day-job, be4 going all in with poker as a profession
I would really appreciate any thoughts in that matter (even more from sm1 that made this transition in the past). Thank you all, take care!

hey man thanks for the shoutout haha. Been a while since I stopped in here but will give a few quick thoughts:

In regards to studying I think it's something that a lot of players like to overestimate the time they spend in the lab. Obviously time in the lab is quite important and I'm not saying to never go in the lab, but: there is quite a lot of value in studying poker on the fly (in game).

When you are lower in table counts practise watching hands and assigning players ranges, whenever they show up with a hand outside of the range you predicted try to mark it and think about reasons why. Are they correct or incorrect? When there are other players in a hand try to think about what you would do in their spots and why?

The more you can get in the habit of adjusting on the fly and improving your ability to assign ranges to people the better you will become at exploiting them. I know it sounds corny and obvious but when you can understand the way your opponent thinks you can destroy them.

Hey man wasup? Thank you for ur 2cents i really appreciate it Actually this is very good advice and it has been a debate in the subject between my closest poker buddy and I in the past. He would go ahead and insist on how important is one's actual "in game" decision making process.

One more time congrats on the amazing PCA appearance - performance
Hope to see u itt more often ^_^

Aight so lets see past week's numbers and then i ll post a hand that found myself struggling with.

January 2018 Week#3

Sessions: 3/3

Gym: 2/3 (sigh)

Study hours: 2/3

Ok so study went better this week. I made an effort to mark some hands and i also watched some streams on twitch. I really enjoyed the streams and as Walmart mentioned above it is super interesting to observe someone's plays and lines "in game".

Results were "meeeh" this week but i am super happy with my volume. If no big surprises this week i will reach and even surpass my volume goals 4 the month! Beginning the new year with a record breaking volume month is definately sth to be happy about so weeeeeeee!!

As for life outside poker, i watched the new Gerard Butler - 50cent - Ice Cube's son movie last week, "Den of thieves". I personally liked it but i dont wanna say more to avoid spoilers. I would rate it around 7,5/10 as i liked the action and characters, but since ive seen many similar movies in the past, if you are watching closely, you ll notice some paterns especially in the direction.

Lately i keep having some "relationship-related" thoughts in my head but im not sure yet if its best for these thoughts to be addressed here. I may share some concerns i ve had in my next posts.

Thanx to everyone who keeps reading this thread!

January 2018 Week#4

Sessions: 2/3

Gym: 3/3

Study: 3/3

Holla chicos,

January almost over (1 more session should be in the books tommorow) and i can proudly say that we have a NEW personal best volume-wise The point of No Return...

I am really satisfied with my volume obv (will put exact numbers down maybe Thursday 1st of February) and what is more i did quite some studying this week as well.

I ve watched several streams and checked a shieton of hands here in the forum from other PGCers as well.

Its really nice to have gone from
"comfortable at 4 tables - struggling at 6", to "play 10 with relative ease and maybe squeeze 12" (although i admit that i need a better setup if i wanna continue with this table-count, as i did manage to timeout in some spots).

January recap profit wise wasnt my best month, although we started sky-high. Last week and specifically yesterday got rekt hard but still in the green so thats good.

I really do miss some live felt action and i feel really good about my game right now so would wanna try and batle dem live-regs. I guess i ll take the 1st reasonable chance i see, although i wanna be VERY strict with my schedule throughtout this year-challenge and thats the main reason i ve been avoiding "live-shots" so far (in contrary with my past not-so-restrained choices The point of No Return... ).

Actually my dear cousin lives-works in Amsterdam, so i ve been contemplating a trip there to combine holidays and maybe some live action, but we shall see.

Anyway, i guess thats it 4 now. Not many "exciting" things these past weeks. Been having some mood swings also but in times like these i try to think about my vision and things get a lil better.

"Sun will rise and we will try again"

Peace yo!

Thank you man! I appreciate the good words!! Best of luck with ur efforts too!

Ok so a small January recap

Had January's last session on Tuesday and it seemed like brick city all the way until the last tourney i registered actually, which i ended up shiping.

I guess "weeeeeee" is in order for this, as this specific bink made January my most profitable month since i started this yearly challenge. I guess i better buckle up for some turbulance now right? Or we got some heat left maybe? The point of No Return...

What i am the most happy about is that i ended up having a record-breaking month in volume as well.

I aimed for 250mtts and managed to play 280 and i feel super good about this.

I hope i can keep up with this patern ^_^

Time to squeeeeeeze February!

LFG amigos best of luck on dem battles!

Peace all!

PS: 1st session of the month Friday

PS2: I ll post a hand later on, from the tournament i won, when there were 5 players left, for which i wanna know ur thoughts.

February 2018 Week #1

Sessions: 3

Gym: 2/3

Study hours: 1/3

Hey boyz,

Yesterday was massacre. Cant say too much as i got rekt almost everywhere. Didnt play too well either but i guess it was kinda expected.

February didnt start well obv, but hopefully we will close it on the "+" side in the end

I ve been 12-tabling steadily with little problems now (only 1 cost-less missclick yesterday) and been trying to extend volume even more.

This feeling though of making many decisions kinda robotic and "clicking buttons" is definately not a good one. I will try to keep tables at this count for a while to see how im handling it, but if i feel like im not playing well, i will reduce them.

Outside the poker life, i went on a Karaoke party on Saturday with my gf and some friends which was loads of fun The point of No Return...

Today is game-day!!! Finally getting back on the field tonight as my leg is 90%. Lfg!!

Cheers all!!!

If u played 6-8 and recently on 12 and feel like just clicking buttons my advice is to hold on 10 for a while and then add 1-2 in peak times... Even 2 less will give you much more focus on decisions.

I just figuered I didnt hopped in to wish u gl for a while altough I was positive I did that, so GL bro

Yesterday was Boom chacka lacka!!!

Felt amazing on the field, my stamina was almost back to being my best asset and my team won 6-1.

I also did scored my first goal on the league (I play as a left defender so scoring isnt my main concern ) and i also made 2 asists (3-1) and (6-1).

Had an amazing time with the hommies since its been a while and just felt like getting in here and share this itt.

Poker session tonight

Cheers all!!

PS: Champions league matches not so far away now

I dont know what PIO says or whatever, but from my head i would bet that turn, dont see many reasons to pot control there. We have enough value from AJ AQ JT and FDs so def I dont see many merits in checking the turn + we do not cap ourselves and make villain do some crazy things otr. In villains shoes I can see myself x shoving river with JJ/AJ/77 vs reg in this spot simply because it's pretty hard for 3bettor to have anything that isn't AQ/AK/some bluff (AQ might be thin vb otr). Might even go little bit larger otf since it def isnt the board that i want to bet with my range ( we dont need much protection with JJ QQ KK imo )

Thank u for your thoughts bro.

I guess my thinking in real time was sth like "im not gonna take 3 streets with TPTK here so by checking i "protect" my hand vs c/shove OTT and could easily call if V leads OTR, or value bet if checked to".

I dont know if my thinking was off in this spot, as obv the hands u mentioned above make total sense to turn them into bluffs OTR and maybe i underestimated V a bit.

What is more as u mentioned by checking turn i will lose some value from str8 and flush draws that decide to check/fold river if missed.

I imagine we plan to bet turn and call if get shoved?

If we bet turn and get called we go for 3 streets on safe rivers or check if it is checked to us?

Not always sure about spots/board textures that we can go bang bang bang with 1-pair kind of hands.

Thanx again 4 ur inputs and food for thought! Appreciate it!

Edit1: as played OTR lean towards call/fold?

Edit2: go bigger OTR to avoid having a harder decision? Maybe descourage him to bluff us? How does this sound?

not sure that im calling off ott but its close since its top of our range practicly and in most of the cases it is best to bet the top than check it. i see myself betting on few brick rivers for value, not sure about T tho, its pretty close but mandatory b/f since villain cant have many bluffs with this line and we ll have few Txes of our own to call it off QTs KTs ATo in b f x t line

February 2018 Week#3

Sessions: 3/3

Gym: 1/3

Study: 0/3

Hey wasup every1,

I had the most amazing time this past weekend!!

I have been slacking BIG time in regards of studying and gym, but i had so much fun on Saturday that i cant feel too sorry about it atm.

My friends, gf and I decided to go for a day trip @ a local mountain for snowboard/ski and maaaaan we had a blast!!

For starters, the weather was unbelievably good with clear skies and almost 0 wind.

I am no snowboard expert but i made some huge progression, as a friend of mine is actually quilified as a snowboard instructor, so he was keep giving us tips/teaching us throughout the trip. I was able to slide down the mountain with a very nice flow at the end of the trip, apart from some really steep points (it was my 4th-5th time in the mountain).

Afterwards we had an amazing lunch-dinner and drank some local beer!!! It was a really fun trip

Sunday was game-day and we manage to book a small win so we are back in the greens.

Lets finish this month strong!!

I have been really slacking in terms of studying and i know for sure that my progression as a player is really depending on this among some other things as well. I honestly have some difficulties to maintain a life balance AND spend some hours in the lab lately.

I ve been discussing some hands/spots with my bros but not much else lately and i am sure i ve missed couple ICM spots here and there, plus some missplays. At this point i am giving as much focus as i can on Volume.

I know this update is all over the place but kinda wanted to put my thoughts down.

Almost 3 months left for this 1-year-challenge and i cant w8 to close it out. Already thinking my next thread and hopefully all goes well for me, cauz i really cant w8 for this adventure to start. I feel really confident atm and i know that 2018 should be the year for me to give it my all and test/break my limits!!

Till next time amigos!!! Take care and run pure all!!

Peace out!
