good luck with the challenge, looks like we are pretty much doing the same thing

In the hand you post I would fold on the turn, just because he is almost betting pot so I guess he is going to be very strong and we only have top pair

I have the feeling I misplayed the hand in several ways.
First I feel against MP/CO's loose opening-range I should squeeze it up with this multiple component hand, it plays better in low/mid SPR situations anyways.

Otf I though I could lure in MP to join with weak hands by just calling, and if co has the full I have 9 outs.

Ott I just called because the 2nd barrel showed somewhat strength and against trips+ raising would be risky cause I would primarily get it in against better side cards or a made full where I am dominated. On the river I am not sure if you can call here.. I thought I cannot fold anymore as my turn-calling range is capped so villain might be bluffin?

I resetted my PC because I thought I had an virus.. but it was just the internet provider who has cut down speed lol. I made a backup but it seems that half of the hands got lost. That's 170k hands wow im so pissed off.

The challenge is not going very good neither.. I was able to take several shots at PLO5 but I had to move down every time, 2 times because of a mix of bad luck and bad play, 2 times because of bad luck and yesterday I had a very tilty session where I lost 9 buyin (45$, the only tilt-session this month though). I will have to grind for weeks probably to have a solid bankroll for PLO5 again, because the $/100 is so low even with a WR of 20bb/100, that is very frustrating. On the other side I feel, I have improved a lot. I am very focused on fixing leaks and avoiding unnecessary moves and mistakes.

The graph only contains a third of the hands so it is not represetative at all but as promised I show what I have:

And finally a hand, where I'd like to know how far u can go defending against loose players where u only have a small sample. I think the 3 on the turn does not necessarily fit his flop check-raising range so I called another time. But I guess even against very loose aggro fishes you have to play straightforward vs a checkraise.

I'd be tempted to just fold when raised on the flop. They usually seem quite cally and when they start raising they have it I found. If i did call I think it is a good call you make on the turn though.

First I have to tell you that I have a new BRM. I basically take the 50buyin of the current stake +10 buyin of the next stake for shots then move down - approach from donkr. His statement, that every shot up to plo200 would be succesful at the first time I find it quite optimistic :/. Well, this month I was able to grind in 25 stacks on PLO2 to have enough to take that shot at PLO5. Thoug I had the impression, that PLO5 is much more aggressive, but I sticked to my straightforward value-oriented style. After losing more coinflips and some situations where I was ahead, I also tilted 2-3 stacks away by calling down marginal hands. I lost 10 Buyin in 2 days (which put my winrate from 10bb/100 down to 5bb/100 over that sample) and now I'm down again on PLO2... I dont plan to give up btw. I am going to grind back again that 10 stacks and take a second shot, with the winrate 10bb/100 I had, I hope I will achieve that within 2 weeks, I also will get some rakeback.

The flop call might be bad? I have 31% so t is a good opportunity to squeeze out the player behind me. Turnplay I guess I have at least 5% due to FE makin the shove +EV.

Unfortunately I was not very successful this month. After 30k hands I established a new bet-sizing system and made a lot of errors which costed me my nearly all of my winnings.

Usually when I play a Zoom session, I can play without making any mistakes. But when I do make some mistakes, which happens because of the high-speed playing 2 tables, there is a high risk to tilt off into another mistake, which happened quite a lot this week so far. So I decided to reduce the hands to play from 2 zoom tables down to 1 zoom table and 2 regular tables, so I can focus on the decision better.

I also registered to a local, softer pokersite and I am splitting my bankroll now. Instead of the 50+10 approach I am taking a 30+5 brm on eache site so alltogether 60+10. I play on Stars to get volume and have hands for analysis and the other site to get my hourly rate going as I am doing not as well as expected. As I am mixing in 1 regular table, I will not achieve the volume I calculated from the beginning, so I am going to expand the hours I play per day from 4-6, in the first days this was exhausting but now I am getting used to stay focused all day. The key elements of being able to focus long and over and over again are nutrition, sleep, oxygen, exercises to be relaxed and have well-being and the last thing is: focus as a result of willpower can be trained just like a muscle. My daily routine looks like this:

9:00 - morning ritual including breakfast and household (cleaning, chop firewood)
10:00 - work on my ranges and gameplan, sessionreview of the foreday, sharing handhistories, study theory and ranges
12:00 - little snack of fruits, bodyweight workout, then go for a walk (or shopping food for lunch)
13:00 - cook and have lunch
14:00 - golden hour (I meditate or just do nothing and take a 20min regeneration nap)
15:00 - first mixed session
16:00 - second mixed session
17:00 - third mixed session
18:00 - supper and break-time
19:00 - first regular session
20:00 - second regular session
21:00 - evening ritual including cold shower to boost my immune system (this is the first winter I did not get ill because of that), listening to music or an audiobook to mentally calm down and then it is free time till I get tired and fall asleep

I've heard the audiobooks "Concentration" by Marco von Münchhausen, "Daily Self-Discipline" by Martin Meadows and the last one I strongly recommend: "Time-Management" by Brian Tracy

I am also setting constantly goals to improve my theory and to avoid making mistakes ingame. I have monthly monetary (which represented to desired bb/100) and theoretical goals which are devided in tertiary subgoals of 10 days, so a month has 3 subgoals. The goal to the end of the year is to finish the challenge by shotting at PLO500 with a 10k$ br.

The monthly goal is basically to win 10bb/100 over a 25k sample on stars with an error-margin of the marked hands beyond 15% and to win 20bb/hand on the local site over 10k sample and to study the content of "Strategies to beat small stakes plo" by Matthias Pum (summary is finished, application works partly) and "Mastering PLO" by Oklowitz/Taschner, creating all preflop ranges and translating them into a syntax (EP to CO finished so far) as well as making some simplified postflop gameplanning.

Challenge FAILED

I am no longer playing Zoom on Pokerstars. I have to abort the challenge, because, well I need some money now to pay my spendings, at least 200 bucks for food and I am sure to get that amount of money with playing on softer sites. With the third month being 20 stacks down at stars obviously I am not skilled enough to beat the competition there and the rake is pretty high aswell. Yea you could sure argue it is variance but at those micros things should go faster. At the local site, where I registered, I won 20 buyin in a single week whereas on stars I broke even over months. Considering hand discussions, this blog seems to be dead anyways.

From the experience I made this year, I recommend to play in soft environment. Jokerstars especially Zoom does not make any sense to me as a mediocre player trying hard to get better, their weird rakeback-system does not shy away any regs, it is still full of regs. 10$ rakeback for 120 hours of play is not worth it. Being exhausted leads to less focus and therefore to bad decisions. Sometimes I am wondering how this could happen, that I cannot even beat a 2c-5c game where I was able to get my monthly income of 1500$ on NL100 some years ago where I played Zoom aswell. My 8k$ Bankroll shrinked down to a 80$ Br. I will try to focus on single decisions more and give me more time during the hand, as I experienced that to be more profitable somehow. I set myself too much under pressure trying to max my volume without getting the net$ results expected. But I succesfully established my habits and now I must stay patiently, study and grind every day and aim for the best, time should be working for me.
