PLO10 ZOOM/Rush to ??? (with insurance) PLO10 ZOOM/Rush to ??? (with insurance)

Hi

I'm 28 years old, playing poker for like 6 years now. Admittingly a losing player online
Doing pretty well live, but don't have much time for playing live because of work and the nearest casino is like a two hours drive away. I quitted online plo like 1.5 years ago, because I just couldn't stand the beats. I didn't play at all for like a year online. Started couple months ago again on stars playing small stake mtts and 18/45/180 sngs (2$ - 10$).. Up like 600$ish in 3 months (~600 games).. not much, but also not bad. My Problem is these tournaments use to much time.

So here I am giving PLO another shot. I will start at PLO10 ZOOM on stars and add maybe also RUSH on fulltilt (not supported yet for insurance).. And because I can't stand the beats I'm trying something new. I give insuredplay a shot.. For more Informations you can read this post: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...iance-1188384/

I read the hole thing and couldn't say if it's something for me or not. So I just give it a try. I'm not 100% sure if this company is legit, that's why I start at PLO10 and only deposited 100$ on their site for now. Should cover it for a couple of sessions

I will of course share numbers if the insurance is worth it in my case.. make some comparisons what the numbers would look like without insurance.. And of course how it affects me personally, just because I tend to tilt

Will probably start tomorrow with my first session.

please be a little tolerant, english is not my native language. I just write how it pops in my head

Good luck, and your english is better then most non natives.

Why pay for insurance? It does reduce variance, but in the long run it is -ev.

No it is not!. In PLO there can be no long run for some people. So you can run under EV for 3+ years. That can create a lot of tilt and frustration which could be eliminated through insurance, which will ensure you are running at EV minus the .20 bb if that?? you pay in fees.

Personally it hink its a great idea of low stakes plo.

@reschu: thanks.. I know it reduces EV, but maybe I'm able to take the beats better with it I really don't know why I can't handle them. I have absolutely no problem get sucked out in mtts/sng or playing live but online PLO is just different. And the other reason is I am just curious to try it.

@kb12345: exactly my thoughts

if your a solid player in PLO its very unlikely you will run under ev for 3years if you put enough volume in, getting insurance is -ev long-term and poker is all about long-term

Good luck man, as for the RUSH, it's pretty soft right as they have just started again and everybody who had a bit of money on there is playing again.. Especially in PLO..

I played my first session today.. well actually three over the day.. Most of it 3 tables..

Insurance Bankroll: 112.62$ (startet at 100$)
So I cand add another 12.62$ to my todays session, which is quit nice.

what can I say about the insurance part.. well, it took me a while to set up the settings I think are the best for me.

Minimum pot for insurance: 10$
Every pot smaller than 10$ is not insured

Equity for insurance: 45% - 100%
Only pots with at least 45% equity are insured..

It's quit difficult to set a range here.. First i had it at like 20%, but I don't like that. If I go all-in in 4-way pot with lets say 27% equity I'm fine with that.. But with insurance kicking in you only get the 27% of the pot.. Some times over the day I was thinking I should set the range at like 75% - 100%.. just the the "worst" suckouts. I'm not sure yet.

The biggest payout I had was 32$ in a runner-runner suckout in a 50$ pot..
I would say it helped me a little bit in some situations not to start tilting or playing worse.
But I'm not sure yet if it's the right thing for me.

Well Pokerstars loves me but Full Tilt hates me

I'm really playing bad at FTP and I don't know why. At least I'm not playing at higher stakes to get my money back, a thing I did everytime in the past. Maybe I can't handle 3-4 tables at FTP because I don't have something similar to the hotkeys on PS.

Here some Informations about my Bankroll:
Playing: -99.87$
Insurance: -35.73$
Bonuses/Rakeback: +102.60$
Bankroll: 590.85$

That's my SNG/MTT Graph from the last 3 months:

I will start playing some SNG (mostly 180) and MTTs again because I miss them
And also post some results here...

Back to omaha.. what can I say.. I would like to stop playing on fulltilt.. but the bonus is just too good to miss maybe I start playing 2 tables on FTP.. The players are extremly nitty compared to PS. Here the biggest Pots I lost on FTP just in Bigblinds:

- 200 BB
- 160 BB
- 140 BB
- 140 BB
- 120 BB
- 110 BB

and after that I only lost post <= 100 BB.. I think I have to adapt more the the massive amount of shortstacks on FTP.

Plans for Today:
- Couple of hands at PLO10
- Play some 235 FPP on PS
- Post HH
- Maybe some sng/mtt in the evening
