Why this journal? The purpose of this blog is to plot and track my progress gambling, and to improve my ability to play poker through reflection on experiences.

My bankroll sits at 2112 USD. This means that I can play PLO $25 and PLO $50. I've been on a bit of a heater as of late, starting with winning $400 in a $50 spin n go and then some success at the omaha tables. My plan is to play strictly PLO cash, just PLO $25 and PLO $50 until I reach $4000. If I drop down to $1000 I will make PLO $25 my top limit.

One thing I'd like to do, that I think is very helpful, is what (IIRC) was recommended The Mental Game of Poker. Start sessions by writing a blog entry, goals, things to work on. Then play the session. Then do a quick blog recap of whether you hit those sessions goals, whether new problems popped up. I think this can be a powerful mechanism for improvement.

Might invest in Vision soon. Not sure. So expensive.

I think this hand was spew. I only have 59 hands on villain, but he was playing 25/14 and opening from UTG. Think this might be a better flat. Refering to my notes it looks like we should only three bet 30% of our double suited double paired hands, and this is clearly not in the top 30% of double suited double paired hands. Also we might assume villain is opening tighter than optimal and adjust by threebetting a bit less also. Not sure if we can call the four bet, especially since BTN flatted. We don't really want to go to the flop three way with our hand, we'd much rather hu since then our flush draws will be live more frequently. I think this is the sort of hand that can peel a four bet well.

Alright, I am going to play a session. I'll probably play for about an hour or two. I want to evaluate my mental game during the session, including was I frustrated with bad beats, how was my motivation. I want to mark a few hands for review for later. I want to play well. And I want to stick to my game plan of PLO $25 and PLO $50 sessions.

Let's go do it.

yes, indeed, this should be only call pre flop. Based on Solver of course.
As played pre flop, wp post. Nothing to add.

About Vission it is a great tool. But i think, if u are playing low limits it is better to check Plo Trainer. I use both and i can really recommend.

Crazy session + 1200 bbs.

SB: $26.13 (52.3 bb)
BB: $86.23 (172.5 bb)
Hero (MP): $190.94 (381.9 bb)
CO: $119.45 (238.9 bb)
BTN: $48 (96 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 8h Ad Jc Td
CO posts BB OOP, Hero raises to $2.25, CO calls $1.75, BTN folds, SB calls $2, BB folds

Flop: ($7.25) 9d Qh 5d (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $4.57, CO raises to $15.42, SB raises to $23.88 and is all-in, Hero calls $19.31, CO calls $8.46

CO here is a tough reg. SB is a whale but short stack and mostly irrelevant anyway.

Not SB does not open the door here.

Turn: ($78.89) As (3 players, 1 is all-in)
Hero checks, CO bets $56.92, Hero calls $56.92

Pretty good to check/call a buyin on the turn although I don't think my hand is foldable. I have eight diamonds, three kings, and two eights for 13 nut outs. I also have 5 outs to a second nut straight. I am getting maybe 2.4:1 So even just counting the nut outs that is 13:31, so I am getting direct odds just on my nut outs alone. I'm not too worried about the fact that my kings and jacks are second nut, because I really think given my hand that villain is going to have QQQ most of the time here. But it is possible he shows up with like KJT+ diamonds I guess or some other surprising holding.

River: ($192.73) 4d (3 players, 1 is all-in)
Hero bets $107.89 and is all-in, CO folds

blessed river. Villain folds getting 6:1 or 7:1 unfortunately.

Results: $192.73 pot ($3 rake)
Final Board: 9d Qh 5d As 4d
SB showed 5c Th 2d Qc and lost (-$26.13 net)
Hero showed 8h Ad Jc Td and won $189.73 ($106.68 net)
CO mucked and lost (-$83.05 net)

Another nice hand.

SB: $70.25 (140.5 bb)
BB: $50 (100 bb)
CO: $197.36 (394.7 bb)
MP: $140.80 (281.6 bb)
Hero (BTN): $126.96 (253.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with 9d 7d 7s 9s
MP calls $1, Hero calls $1, SB calls $0.75, BB calls $0.50, CO raises to $3.33, MP calls $3.33, Hero calls $3.33, SB calls $3.33, BB folds

the game was playing pretty wild, all fish / whales and me, so I was trying to slow down the action a bit pre. basically playing like tight passive pre and waiting for monster spots post flop.

Flop: ($17.32) 6d 9c Jd (4 players)
SB checks, CO bets $8.66, MP calls $8.66, Hero raises to $51.95, SB folds, CO calls $43.29, MP folds

villain here had previously demonstrated a willingness to make huge flop calls vs raises.

Turn: ($129.88) 7h (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $70.68, CO folds

Results: $129.88 pot ($2 rake)
Final Board: 6d 9c Jd 7h
CO mucked and lost (-$55.28 net)
Hero mucked 9d 7d 7s 9s and won $127.88 ($71.60 net)

MP: $50 (100 bb)
CO: $62.39 (124.8 bb)
BTN: $212.01 (424 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Ts 8c 7s 9d
MP posts BB OOP, Hero raises to $2.25, MP calls $1.75, CO folds, BTN raises to $9.75, 2 folds, Hero calls $7.50, MP calls $7.50

Flop: ($30) Jh 2c 7d (3 players)
Hero checks, MP checks, BTN bets $14.17, Hero calls $14.17, MP folds

super weird hand. maybe I'm just supposed to GII on the flop? villain is quite wild.

Turn: ($58.34) Kd (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $36.89, Hero calls $36.89

i pick up another rank, but the flush draw showing up isn't good.

River: ($132.12) Qh (2 players)
Hero bets $11.97 and is all-in, BTN folds

Results: $132.12 pot ($3 rake)
Final Board: Jh 2c 7d Kd Qh
Hero mucked Ts 8c 7s 9d and won $129.12 ($68.31 net)
BTN mucked and lost (-$60.81 net)

Most incredibly, during this 3 hour session the biggest amount I lost in a single pot was 20 bb, $11. Whereas I won 10 pots where I won 40 bb or more.

massive heater this week, and I made $300 working some part time online job too.

Can't seem to post images for some reason.

nice session. I will advise you to not focus on the results, because i see u do. It could trigger result oriented thinking, which especially in PLO could be devastating.

It was for me the biggest leak and after bunch of hours with Sport's psychologist i was managed to overcome this and results started to be preety good, wihout tracking them all the time.
