Hi!
I've been playing poker on and off for the past two years.

About a few months ago, my Full Tilt Poker account was hacked, and the funds were dumped out on a $10/$20 PLO table in a matter of several hands (About $1200 that was in my account that I wasn't able to recover). Took me a few months to fully recover from a deep state of depression after losing it.. But I recently came back, two days ago in fact.

A bit before getting my account destroyed, I was toying around on PLO (Bankroll was mainly built from Holdem SNG's).

So this time coming around, I wanted to try something different, and play PLO Cash Games as my main.

Deposited $25, and I plan to stack my chips back to what I originally had.
Currently sitting at $33.54

I believe I have a basic understanding of PLO, and I've been doing fairly well.
If there is any resourceful guides/articles, please throw them at me!
Or if there's any tips you could write here, I'd love to hear them!

How many BI's should I have for PLO?
I know the variance is crazy high, and 20BI's won't do justice.
I was thinking 30~40BI's?
And around $150 I would start 5PL?

Let me know what the proper bankroll management should be.

Also, is there a way to post hands here without actually having a program?
Or is there a free program?
And yes, money is a huge issue for me at the moment and cannot dispense much!

Thank you for your support, I will update this thread regularly!

PLO is super high variance, pretty much the same amount of variance 180man sngs/ hypers have almost. Small edges, and ******ed high rake. If i were to play PLO again i would probably only play PLO50+ just due to the rake being so high. I think i paid around 15-20bb/100 in rake

I Prefer 100buyins, some players like 200. But at the micros where people are ******ed 50 should be fine. Id start 5plo ~around 300-350

Also to help you study you should use propokertools.com

Also Bugs has a free ebook on how to play.

How easily can you replenish your roll? If it's no biggie and you believe in your skills then you should employ a very aggressive bankroll management strategy and move up as quickly as possible. If you don't ever want to redeposit and/or you're still learning the game and not confident that you're a winning player yet then start off low and be very conservative - 50 buyins minimum. By the sounds of it you say that money is a huge issue so I would lean towards the conservative side.

There's some decent PLO content out there if you know where to find it. I'd start with the PLO forums here + some of the training sites (runitonce, cardunners, deucescracked).

GL.
