Discipline is key. I'm not willing to let tilt affect my bankroll. I've been doing a lot of work away from the table on preflop hand selection and post flop decision making that I think will help realign my game to more favorable decisions. I've learned a lot these last few months and am miles ahead of where I was when I started. One thing I keep reminding myself is that when I was first learning NLHE I was a slight loser for the first five or six months before becoming a consistent winner which I kept up for five years until I stepped away from the game. Players are better now and there's less room for error. One thing about poker is you get immediate feedback on how you're doing and there's no remorse.

Tonight's my last night of work before vacation. I'm chomping at the bit to get some serious sessions in.

Ah Vegas sounds like it's going to be amazing, gl out there and looking forward to some live game updates

Seems like your making the transition to PLO without much losses which is pretty good going I lost a fair bit but then again i was a loser at NL too

On that last hand you post I think I just fold there too

Yeah I elected to fold but it was kind of tough. This guy stacks off any two pair on rainbow flops. However with ranges he can already have the straight or a set. Between his light stack offs and blocking two sets and some JT combos I timed down a bit on it. Still trying to figure out how to run multiple unknown Omaha ranges for villain on ProPokerTools. I can't seem to figure out how to calculate against a hand where I assume two known cards and two random cards like if he had AQxx where xx is completely random.

Gillingham: No I've lost quite a bit. I started at PLO25 and had to drop down to preserve my bankroll. If it weren't for PLO100 sessions I'd be down about $700 between PLO25 and PLO10.

Is there a way for you to see if you were being colluded against? Obvious answer is that you just need to improve, but it might be worth examining how you were losing.

Nope. There's no reason to suspect collusion. Not sure if you were referring to a specific hand(s), presence of bots, or the losing sessions. I'm just not playing well which is to be expected when learning a new game for most of us.

So I haven't updated in a little bit but I have been playing. PLO hasn't gone well and to be honest I'm not sure if it's worth continuing to play it. There are a few pain points for me. High rake and passive preflop play. If you though putting people on reasonable ranges was tough in NLHE just try micro stakes PLO. Then add in the high variance nature of the game and my inability to log many hands and it's just not a great recipe. Haven't quite decided what I'm going to do going forward. My bankroll has slowly dwindled down and I'm not going to play 5PLO. It's just not worth my time.

Going forward I'm leaning towards sticking to MTT's on ACR and grinding out Zone poker for cash games on Ignition. Being able to play in a fast format will help me log hands on days I work and when I'm off and have larger chunks of time I can play MTT's which I still really enjoy. I already deposited on Iggy the other night and dipped my toes back into the NLHE 6 max pool.

In other news it's my birthday today and I leave for Las Vegas Friday. Definitely looking forward to getting away. Should help me unwind from what has been a long summer at work and I can't wait to see Vegas for the first time.

Lastly I played in a $2k GTD on ACR this afternoon and finished 2nd for $255. Nice little boost to the bankroll...and it was a lot of fun.

Happy Birthday Strappz and a nice little tournament win!

Doesn't seem like you've lost too many buy-ins though in terms of PLO and you don't seem to tilt and looks like your trying to improve yourself (there seems to be lots of room for maneuver in PLO vs holdem which is why I like it though) so the only way is up but good luck whatever you choose.
