Hi.

Recently I started playing PLO (as recently as October 16th) with the idea to make some money while learning the Great Game. I have to admit that I had played a bit before, but nothing higher than PLO10.

Well, for the past 10 days I have done very well (see the graph below), and would like to make it a challenge for myself to see if I can reach my goal of having a $10 000 bankroll.

My nickname is intentionally cut out, as I am not interested in having any unwanted guests sitting down at the tables that I have managed to dominate over the past few days.

Anyhow, I will try to post graphs and interesting hands as I go.

I hope you enjoy.
Peace.

Got a little session in, and apart from flopping top set + BDFD and getting it in on the flop vs. a flopped flush (that held), and ended up having a great time. I was 2-tabling (studying for my exam on the side). Anyhow, here's the graph:

Good luck! Are you playing 100PLO on Stars? I heard that the games are super high variance. Should be a fun ride.

In good luck, what stakes are you playing and is it zone or reg. 6max tables?

I am playing PLO25, PLO50 and PLO100 - no Zoom, just regular tables. And I try to stick to 6-max, however, whenever there is some HU action going on, I am more than happy to join.

Here's the graph of today's first session:

The tables were filled with regs, which made me work so much harder than usual lol (most likely because I played in the early afternoon).

XXX, $0.25/$0.50 Pot Limit Omaha Cash, 4 Players

    SB: $51.82 (103.6 bb) VPIP: 73; PFR: 3; 3-bet: 0; Hands: 244 - an absolute monkey
    Hero (BB): $63.89 (127.8 bb)
    CO: $34.15 (68.3 bb)
    BTN: $75.40 (150.8 bb)

    Preflop: Hero is BB with 4 K K J
CO folds, BTN raises to $1.75, SB calls $1.50, Hero raises to $7, BTN folds, SB calls $5.25

    Flop: ($15.75) 3 5 T (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $15.75, SB raises to $44.82 and is all-in, Hero calls $29.07

    Turn: ($105.39) 5 (2 players, 1 is all-in)
    River: ($105.39) T (2 players, 1 is all-in)

    Spoiler:

Played an OK session. Really it was all about one hand, which I will show below. But first, here's the graph:

And now the hand. Both guys have been opening very wide ranges and calling 3bets with pretty much any single suited, crappy connected holdings. My question is, was it a mistake by me to shove it all-in pre?

XXX, $0.50/$1 Pot Limit Omaha Cash, 6 Players

      SB: $99 (99 bb)
      Hero (BB): $150.89 (150.9 bb)
      UTG: $120.15 (120.2 bb)
      MP: $105.18 (105.2 bb)
      CO: $111.58 (111.6 bb)
      BTN: $357.09 (357.1 bb)

      Preflop: Hero is BB with A A 9 8
UTG folds, MP calls $1, CO folds, BTN raises to $4.50, SB calls $4, Hero raises to $19, MP raises to $66, BTN calls $61.50, SB folds, Hero raises to $150.89 and is all-in, MP calls $39.18 and is all-in, BTN calls $84.89

      Flop: ($411.46) 5 T A (3 players, 2 are all-in)
      Turn: ($411.46) 7 (3 players, 2 are all-in)
      River: ($411.46) 2 (3 players, 2 are all-in)

      Results: $411.46 pot ($4.00 rake)
      Final Board: 5 T A 7 2
      Hero showed A A 9 8 and won $407.46 ($256.57 net)
      MP showed 7 T Q J and lost (-$105.18 net)
      BTN showed 6 9 7 T and lost (-$150.89 net)

Well, I like the short sessions, because then I can focus 100%. Also, I am busy with other things, so poker is never really my priority. I usually play 2 - 4 tables. If I play 1 guy HU, then just 2 tables, otherwise - 4 6-max tables.

Anyhow, feels good to be digging myself out of holes like this:

      Of course not.

Also I noticed in a previous post you mentioned that you lost with a set+BDFD vs a flopped flush - this is not possible in PLO due to you having to use both hole cards

I thought that having, for example, 3c3dAh5h, on the flop 3s7s8h is considered as a flopped set (33) and a BDFD (Ah5h)..

I started by playing PLO5, as the site I play on has very little to no action at PLO2. And I literally grinded my BR. Then I stopped playing PLO for a while, but when re-started, I jumped into PLO25, which may seem like an idiotic move, but from my experience, the players are much looser and there are many more fish in PLO25 than in PLO5. Plus, I have been consistently winning.

Good luck with your grind, sir!

My BR was about $250, if I recall correctly. Well, if you don't have too much experience in PLO, you really want to take it slow. I thought I could manage this (and I have) because I had played some PLO prior to switching completely from NLHE to PLO.
