Romanian girls are very pretty and take care very much of their looks, mostly because most of them also care to much about what people say about them. Smart is quite a complicated term for me to talk about. My opinion is that they`re all smart in terms of going for what they want in life and not accepting too much sh** from anyone.

Nice and interesting thread. How do you study Spin&Go's though? Isn't it just nash pushing and calling ranges with adjustments to villain's style?

Hey guys. I`m back from the nutrition technician course I`m currently studying for and will start playing today. Pretty nice to see how people from different areas of activities think, talk and act.

I finally started doing cardio which is like a MUST thing to incorporate in your daily routine whatever job you have.

About studying, I`m currently trying to finish the strategies for the preflop play and then move up to the more complex part of the postflop play. What I currently do is breakdown the game in different parts.

For example, I started with 3 handed play RFI ranges. We have BTN RFI, SB RFI and I also put BB Iso SB limp into this category. Then I took the first one BTN RFI and figured out my options. For example we can raise - different sizings (2x/2.2x/2.5x/3x) - and different ranges (20/32/40/50/60). Now we have a lot of choices but some of them feel intuitively wrong, like raising 3x OTB, when players will shove with high frequencies and you can not call a wide range after you open.
And now we move on to opening ranges and we should I ask ourselves what do we benefit from opening a tight rage ? How about a wide range ? And finally, given these options, what`s the more optimal strategy against different types of players ?
So my learning process involves asking a lot of questions, trying to come up with answers and then picking one option and test it at the tables to see if the asumptions I made theoretically are true at the tables. This last part is the most tricky for me because I find myself having some lack of discipline when testing the theories at the tables and evaluating them, but I will have to work on this a LOT more in future.

The really tricky part is that you need samples large enough for assessing if theory works in practice. How many tournaments average you wanna play before you switch from one strategy to another? You can't make changes to quickly since the variance might spoil your results.
I like the idea, just assume it is a lot of playing in front of you before you will find all the answers for your question. However if succeed I would be more than happy to see results

Good luck at the tables.

Hey there. Last two days I played less games and thought more about what happened that made me lose 1K in a month at these games.

So graph for this month looks like this :

I think that is perfectly normal on this CEV WR to be losing. Using the simulations it looks like only 1% of the runs end up with around ~142 BIs on this number of games which looks really annoying.

On total games (6000) my CEV WR is around 70, but by constantly having the worse hand both preflop and postflop where CEV should be way higher than 52 took me to this number for the month. I think variance is really huge in these games and if I will need at least 500 BI`s to play these, which I don`t really want to do anymore.

Another big factor that influenced this downswing was the frequency of my stack at HU. If one player busts in the first few hands I will always make HU with 500 chips and I have an ITM of only 35% in this scenario. The higher the frequency of this thing happening in the short term, the bigger the loss will be because I will have a negative EV on the tournament.

Another key factor was running against top of people ranges, both preflop and postflop. In the short run this will lead to very big downswings, especially if you`re running bad in the spots where you`re ahead and losing the ones you`re behind.

Overall I think these games are beatable but the variance is way too big for me to be playing them furthermore. The fact that I try to "grind for a living" should have influenced me from the begining and should have made me to not play them at all and stick to games with lower variance.

I take some days off to reconsider my choices, probably going to switch back to cash games and most likely zoom.

I will probably be opening another PG&C thread, after deciding on my gameplan.

The main reason for this challenge to fail was my lack of understanding the variance in these games, coming without the proper knowledge about it was a big factor.

Thank you guys for following this very short thread, but I will be back with another one that will be way longer and more entertaining.

Good luck everyone !
