Quick Background:

-Played for a living from 2006-2009 time-frame online cash games at various sites, playing mainly $1000-$2500 buy-in NL games

-Moved to Nashville, TN in 2010 to start a career in Aerospace & Space Launch support sales. Aerospace has been good to me and I am now managing 17 different States in the Midwest/Southeast U.S. along with all of our Space Launch customers.

-Have been doing well from 2011-2018 in live cash games and recently just made some long term investments in the market & property that has chopped my "bank roll" down to $15,000. I have more money from work/life roll but want to see how I do from $15,000 without having to reload from other resources.

Planning to work my way from low/mid stakes (1/2,2/5,5/10) up to the 10/25 uncapped games again from this roll. REALLY enjoy the challenge of playing with Pros at this limit and have fun playing the game.

Why am I starting this now? Planning to in California next week for a Golf/Poker Trip and want to start tracking the results. Will also be playing at other properties in the coming weeks. I was also "inspired" by the Rayz thread, we didn't start off on the best foot but interesting person for sure.

How often will I get to play? Depends on my work/life schedule for the most part but hoping to play 6-8 times per/month. I typically have some time during the week on the road to spend a few hours on the felt.

Planning to update the stats, rooms, and possibly add some pictures/videos from the trips.

Really the $15,000 is non-life roll money and would like to grind to $50,000 over the next year and then decide on a different challenge from that point. I will most likely play games outside of this bankroll for 2 reasons...I have additional funds as needed and this is not my main source of income for living expenses. The plan is not to go broke hopefully or play too high...certainly not going to be too conservative.

California Trip Schedule (7/22-7/29)
Sunday-Hustler
Monday-LA Room either Gardens/Hollywood Park
Tuesday-Chumash (driving up the 101) Tour of Space X factory
Wednesday-Stones Stream ($5/$5 1k capped)
Thursday-Thunder Valley

Saturday-Bay 101 or Matrix

Rooms in the coming weeks?

Game: Private Home Game (Nashville, TN)
Limits: Uncapped $1-$2 with a $5 button straddle
Date: 7/20/2018
Results: +$5.00

We will call this game G, really good line-up last night and at one point I was stuck around $1400/$1500 after losing some big pots over the course of the night. Overall, pleased with my play in the game and looking forward to next week. The game plays REALLY loose preflop with most people calling $25/$30 opens but not really a ton of three betting. People tend to spew/bluff on the turn/river in this game more than anything.

Interesting Hands:

Hand #1

Preflop: Raise AK Diamonds to around $25/$30, two called with me sitting on the button covering all around $600.00 effective.
Flop: K89 DD, bet the flop for $60.00 and get two calls from the regulars
Turn: 10 Club putting two flush draws on the board, bet around $175, two calls again
River: 4 of clubs and second caller JAMS, I quickly fold.
Villain 1 shows 107 Diamonds for the missed straight flush draw
Villain 2 shows J8 Clubs for the flush

Interesting hand for sure, a little sad 107 diamonds didn't get aggressive on the flop.

Hand #2

Action player in the small blind, walking around smoking but told the table/deal don't fold my hand. We are 4 handed. $1,000 effective.
Preflop: Hero opens in the Cut-Off with K5 HH to $10.00 (Straddle was off), Villain (small blind) comes back just in time to call.
Flop: 5107 HH, Villain Checks/Hero bets around $25.00 w/ a call
Turn: Low Blank, Hero continues for $45.00 and Villain min-re-raises to $90.00...call
River: 9 H giving me the K high flush, Villain jams for $900ish and I snap call while he shows 101010

Pot was right around $2,000...really didn't expect to get even on the night but will take it for sure before the road trip.

You mentioned that you aren't too worried about BRM, but you didnt exactly want to just blow through the 15k starting roll. It might be a good idea to limit your buyin to no more than 1500 and if you are playing a 1/2 or 1/3 game then no more than 700. This will give you more buyins and prevent the inevitable downswing from landing a crippling blow. These buyin sizes are more than enough to be respected at the tables.

California Trip Update...

Day #1 (Los Angeles)

Flight arrived from BNA to LAX around 9:30 and checked into the hotel around 10:30. Decided to play @ the Hustler based on being the best option as far as distance goes to the poker room.

Game: $5.00/$5.00 $1,000 capped
Results: -$100.00

Short session, stuck around $500 at one point but won some pots to finish the game out. Game was a little slow on a Sunday night overall.

Room: Hustler, staff was excellent, games were slow (Sunday), and the room was a little aged.

Day #2 (Los Angles, CA)

Arrived around 1:00 in the afternoon, WPT was going on at the time and the cash games were pretty, got to see some old poker friends.

Game: $5.00/$10.00 $1,500 capped
Results: +$740.00

Longer session, booked a $500.00 win early, sat back down to get stuck on the night. Finished the night around $740.00 in the green.

Interesting Hand:

$1,600 Effective Stacks-->

Aggressive player opens 2 off the button to around $50.00, HERO calls with Q10 HH on the button and two other call.

FLOP: 89J (Rainbow, 1 Diamond)

Solid aggressive player (East Coast 5/10 regular) leads for around $125/$135, flat with 2 behind holding the nuts.

TURN: 6 (Diamonds)

Solid aggressive player bets around $260.00, Really think he has an over-pair/top part type hand in this spot and raising just blows him off the hand. Flat call leaving around $1,160 behind

River: A (Diamonds)

Villain checks, Pot is around $1,000 and decided to down-bet hoping the Villain will C/R, bet $200 leaving a little under 1k with the intention of calling all jams. Villain thinks and jams. Snap called and was good, Villain said he had the K of diamonds .

Day #3 (Chumash, CA)

Staying at the Resort...cash games are pretty small and decided to get some rest for the Stones Stream tomorrow.

In. Good luck. Been at Chumash recently... Not a lot of options but the games are insanely soft.

LOL, what is up Tim. Challenge completed plus some at the Million Dollar Heater.

TBH, not enough traffic to keep this going.
