ME:

My name is Karl - in the pokercommunity I am also known as Kade, I am 29 years old and I am playing poker since 7 years and I am from Vienna (Austria).

My story:


NL

Started playing at home with friends -> transition to online NL Cashgames read books + watched coaching videos had abos on various coachingsites + paid for coachings and had diffrent coaches.
2013 I was playing NL100-NL400 and was winning with like 4bb/100 on Nl400. Then I got a coaching deal with a friend who has the highest winrate on partypoker Nl400+ at this time.
He coached me for 1 year and after I was playing Nl400-Nl2k regularly.

PLO

I started playing PLO 2016, mainly because I was frustrated by the NL-Live-CG action in Europe. I got coaching from 2-3 diffrent players and made the transition with 2 other NL players, so we could motivate each other and improved pretty quickly.
At the moment I play PL200-PL2k online (mainly pl400-pl1k) and live up to 200/400. I still play NL but just NL1k+ and live if there is a very good NL4k+ game.



Why the blog?


1. Mainly for keeping me motivated. I kinda feel lazy somethimes especially if I loose a lot in higher shots at livegames and then gotta play low online again, trying to get as much back as possible....it can be very frustrating

2. I also want to learn from it and get advice from you guys, I will not just post online hands, I will also post where I am going on livetrips some hands from there + my thoughtprocess, also where I stay/planing to stay and what I did besides poker..

3. I want to get to know more pokerplayers. I know a lot of ppl in the german community, which has always helped me in many diffrent aspects of the game. I also coached many players in the past, a lot of them compete at a very high level themselves now, won big tournaments or play high cashgames live and online.


Whats in it for you?

2. Livegames, I will discuss softness, rake + location + what you can do there besides poker. I studied sports so I am typically try to stay healthy and active wherever I am.

Livetrip CAPT Velden
- Cashgames PL4k and 25k Superhighrollertournament

I just got home from a live-trip (CAPT Velden - Austria). I mainly played CG there, was sitting on the PL4k tables for most of the times.
I personally run well and made some money on the tables.

There was everyday running 1 BIGGAME which was 100/200 or 200/400, which was mostly private somethimes there where 1-2 seats avaliable and it was decided by cardpick who will get the seat. 1st day there was 10 ppl wanting 1 seat so not that easy to get in.
A few days also 2 BIGGAMES where running 1 with Leon Thewolve.... who where playin 300/600+, but Leon decided who is allowed to play in this one.

I often got action in those Highstakesgames and lost hard :/
Not even close that I won it back myself on PL4k...

I also played 2 tournaments one 2k Omaha (European championship) and the Superhighroller-tournament with a 25k buyin.
I played pretty well on the 1st day all my bluffs went through, didnt hit well though and couldnt take any chips from the recreational players -> still went from 250k to 370k which was slightly below avarage.
Day2 I had to muck a few times then I started pushfolding got 2 folds then AT vs AT and on 6,5 bb i shoved AQ early into 66 and KJ and lost....

Im not very good in tournaments I barley made content just started to play some Spin and Goes a view weeks ago, but ICM wise I got no idea how light I gotta stack off..
Still think that in the early stages I got an edge on most ppl in the field + it was very soft and Im no total moron 0-40bb...

I think its good spot to bluff. We would check a lot of nutish hands on the turn when the K comes + also on the river on the A cause both cards hit his range a lot better then ours. QT 23 + Aces up and sets I got them all in my range and I also would raise those.
+ He would often barrel draws on flop/turn and sets as well.

My hand is also fine I guess blocking the T for the nuts.

I think in this spot most players would check behind, but I feel like they are missing lot of value and we should bet small there.
1) We might enduce fish to do sth stupid (I obv plan calling if he raises me) -> there is a fd and straightdraws busted
2) I dont think that he ever checkst a boat
3) He might call with a smaller pocket, given his turnsize I dont think that he has an Ax that often, if he has we just loose 10k, we will valuetown ourself somethimes.

Twitch!? - Spin and goes

August Im planing on relax and play a bunch online.
Also make some Spin&Go and SnG content and play a bit.
Its really hard for me to keep focusing and grinding thise low spin and goes for practise cause I get bored pretty quickly.
Clicked 10 x 250 spins the day before yesterday lost 9/10 and all my winnings in 60 spins are gone ^^

Not sure how to motviate myself to play them.
Thinking about streaming spins on twitch.... the format is good + I have more motivation to grind them + dont make stupid ****.
And I am also not that good, that I feel like Im giving away too much content.


September I am probably going to LA, to play some Live-CGs.
Why LA?
I have time in September + weather is nice there + like the city (not around the casinos - but in general) + dont know any events in September with good action. + I am in the mood to play some Live-NL-CG

Where is ****in online poker action??

Im kinda frustrated with the action at the moment. If I get up nothing is running on no ****ing site not even Zoom500 is running.

I just cant play.... for like 6h.... I am going to the gym or do sports + chilling in the sun/go swimming + coaching some poker + sit around and watch stupid youtube videos...I have chilled enough, would really prefer to play more

In late afternoon, evening and in the night there is action, but even then its a lot less then Im used to and tables are often not that good.


So I could add more sites (alrdy have 6 sites where I look for action...)


Asian sites

Def not gonna add any china sites I lost a lot there in the past Fulpot/Pokermonster... heard that on some of the sites where superuseraccs, some where just rigged...

Pokermaster

So I also dont trust Pokermaster and wont hop on the hype. Especially omaha there was and still is a lot collusion there.

I played quit a bit there in the past + I lost Omaha and I lost NL.
+ It felt like they are creating action boards. It was 24/7 miracle cards.
Not only to villains favor also to my favor...
Something just felt off!

+ I heard from some very good NL players loosing there over a big sample what I also dont quite get.
-> Also heard from some guys who are winning big, which should be standard given those soft tables...


Any experiences there?


What can I do about it??

Give me any advice guys

I heard about some sites in the U.S but probably cant even play there if I go abroad cause need2be a citizen!?
Nevada sites, NewJersey sites... would love to play there but I guess its not possible for me as european!?

I will probably start an Omaha-Coaching-for-Profit, for ppl who want to switch from NL->Omaha. Will put some work into this.
