I'm a 24 year old male from Belgium. Have been playing poker for several years but never have been serious with it. When I signed up for twoplustwo, I quickly realized that I was nowhere near as good as I thought I was and gradually started improving. Past year has been the first year I've made (arguably) significant money off of poker and I have decided to really go for it in 2015!

I started last year with the ambition to reach 25-50NL from a 15$ starting bankroll in December 2013. I managed to build my br pretty quickly and was doing well at 10NL zoom. But at 25 and 50NL I have been struggling up to today still. Although I think I have been met with some decent runbad (esp at 25), I spew a lot in cash and my mindset just isn't quite there a lot of the time.

I started playing mtt's/mttsng's more and really started to love the feeling of going deep in a tourney. For me, there's nothing quite like it. Although in a pretty lolsample and running superhot (am fully aware of both those things), almost all of my profit past year came from micro-small stakes mtt's.

I believe I can beat these games for a good ROI on a much bigger sample and will be putting way more work in this year! I'm still living with my parents right now, and am hoping to move out in the summer. They gave me their okay to play fulltime in the first half of the year and see what happens, so hopefully things go well for me

I think there will be many hurdles to clear for me to succeed as a poker player this year. First off, I have a girlfriend for 2 months now and she's also okay with me playing poker. But to her parents I'll have to say something like: 'I'm looking for a job, but playing poker in the meantime for my income'. I don't know how well this is gonna go and I have no idea how my gf's attitude towards poker will evolve 2 months is lol obv but I like her.

Secondly, I have never played a full schedule of mtt's for a long consecutive time. I know this won't be easy, but am really motivated to give it a go! I think I can cope with the variance. Sure I will struggle a lot during the year, but I will come out stronger I think. I know what kind of downswings I can expect and hope to carry them with dignity and whole computerparts

Finally, I will need a monthly cashout for living expenses but I'm going to try and cut down on going out/spending money so I can move up the stakes regardless. I don't want to be playing the same schedule in 6 months. My starting bankroll is a little over $4k

Goals

I'm gonna set these lofty (for me). This is what I'll aim for:

[ ] 8k+ games

[ ] Supernova (gonna need easily 10k+ games for this unless I start playing much higher, this is more of a secondary goal which I'll revise a few months into the year)

[ ] 30k$ profit (setting a profit goal in mtt's is meh, but I wont 30k)

[ ] Top 10 P5's in Belgium (currently 41st)

[ ] Bink my biggest score (currently 4.2k$, 5figs one time? )

[ ] Regularly study, review hands, read books, do work off the tables

[ ] Work out/Run/Practice a sport at least three times a week

[ ] Smoke way less weed, especially during sessions

[ ] Keep up with this thread

[ ] Healthy life balance and have lots of fun



If I can look back next year and cross most of this off this list, I'll be a very happy man. Leggo 2015!

U know that in cash games ur bb/100 winnings are equal to the rake u pay. In MTT ur roy is x5 the rake u pay ... do the math

Thank you! Yeah I'll mix in 18-27-45-180mans for sure to up the volume and decrease variance a bit. I will also be playing 50z HU sometimes if I don't have time to load tourneys (pool is pretty soft usually, good VPP's too)

So, as expected I didn't get to start a session today. Gf hung around till just now and we were both pretty hungover obv Was kind of itching to play but meh, have to go out now

Gonna try to wake up fresh and early(ish) tomorrow and start the first session of the year!

Sooo, first day is in the books. Managed to be pretty hungover all day (still) and that had me playing a bit less than I wanted to, but it's fine. Ran pretty bad in flips/coolers today, but managed to sunrun this for my first bink of the year:

Is ur ABI around 10$? What is ur daily shedule/routine and what kind of MTTs u preffer to play? 1 site or more? If u wanna u can write more for that MTTs u play. Im just curious

I'm only playing on stars atm, since Belgians can't play FTP/888

I'm not sure what my avg bi will be, since I still play a sorta random schedule. I'll typically reg 9-12 tables, stakes ranging 3.30-44$ (rarely playing the upper or lower end). I start to register with a preference of regular speeds somewhere in the middle of my bi range, or bit to the lower end like $11's, 5.50$2r1a, $3rebuys, 22$. I like 500cap/1000cap fields a lot since they counter a bit of the variance in the 4k+ fields.

All the red tourneys in my bi range get regged for sure (big$44 only if I feel like regging it but i'll prob be playing it more, hots only up to $11 for now)

Then if there is space I'll reg turbo mtt's with attractive prizepools and 18-27-45-180 mans ranging from 4.50-15$

So, not a very fixed schedule but I'm sure that'll become more of the case if I put in consistent volume. I'm interested to hear if people think my BRM is really nitty or pretty standard actually

Good volume yesterday, ~50 games. Ran very well in all ins early-midgame but lost some very important ones that sucked Had runs in the eliminator and the big$44 but couldn't make them count. Especially eliminator sucked with JJ<A5 aipf for 70+bb and ten minutes later QQ<99 aipf for almost 40bb to bust in 198th or something.

Still a good day resultswise, and definitely ran hot in all ins in general so can't complain!

Gonna visit gf today and return back home tonight to get in a sunday session. Gonna try to put in a good schedule anyway but might cut it short if I get tired. Or I could bink the storm and keep regging on the side, we'll see

Was home way too late and barely played tonight. Sucks to skip a sunday but I'll make sure to compensate a bit this week by grinding a lot!

Yesterday was a long day! Built lots of stacks in exciting stuff but ran as bad as I can remember running. Tons of very important pots went the other way, lots of 80/20's and 75/35's were lost etc... Frustrating but that's donkaments obv

Finished 3rd in the 2.2r 500cap to save the day. Ironically, I won like 5 all ins from behind at that FT (v shallow) and they started calling me out on running hot felt kinda brutal after that day but it was funny and happy with the daysaver! Volume was good

Today started off pretty frustrating, again lots and lots of important pots I got 2/3-outered etc.. really running like crap. Then I ended up with some stacks in the end. Was top 10 in b22 w 1000 left but managed not to cash , busted a 33$ 500 cap tourney in 35th or so w AK<AQ aipf (27 paid). But then I started to run really great and won a $4.50 180man along with this pretty thing:



I ran very hot in some all in pots at f2t here, but also lost 4-5 big flips in the meantime. Was playing v aggro since I was runaway CL w 7 left and everyone had 10-20bb.

Happy about my play in the end there, but overall today I'd say I was at my B-game. Might have sth to do with not being used to high table count all the time because in a lot of spots I instantly realize what I could've done better once I've made a decision. Running like sh*t for 90% of the session and then suddenly binking is also something I'm trying to get used to

weee! played a small sesh because visiting gf later, so extra nice to bink! Got an important 2-outer along the way which i'm grateful for HU started with me having a small lead, I grinded him down untill his A2>my A4s then grinded him down again till he shoved a gutshot vs my TPTK
