Gave the bowly morning schedule a try today, which as expected was incredibly soft. Can't say that I played particularly well if i'm being honest with myself, but ran hot and managed to make ~$500.
Fun little tourney. I had 1/3 of the chips with 10 left and people were still rebuying for 5 or 6bbs. Added an extra $60 or so to the value of the win
Aside from that, I had a 2nd in a 22PSKO on Party for $250 and a 5th in some $12 bowl on 888 for $100.
It's kind of tempting to play that schedule and just print so much in EV with less variance, but it also has its downsides with the lower ABI I'd be forced to play, lower upside potential due to smaller prizepools and not to mention having to be up and sat at the computer by 8/9am...
Will re-evaluate which schedule i'll play when I get back from Paris, but tbf i don't really want to be too strict on myself with regards to specific hours, as one of the reasons poker is so great is the flexibility.
Aside from today's session, I played as planned on Mon, Wed, Thurs. Played relatively well for the most part and winrates are looking much better so far this month, when compared with the last few. That doesn't mean i've not made plenty of mistakes, but i'm very positive for the future if I can continue to learn from them and strive to consistently improve, both in terms of strategy and achieving peak in-game performance.
Bricked the 25/25 last night at Leeds. Won lots of small pots and for the most part my hand-reading was really tuned in, but made a few disappointing mistakes in some bigger pots. Bustout hand reminded me why in general, value betting wide is so profitable in live MTTs and bluffing not so much
Will do my best to remember that whenever i venture back out into the live arena!
Off out for some dinner now with my gf and her sister, then will put in some study this evening and hopefully a high quality (and profitable?) Sunday session!
