Bankroll: $900
Currently playing: 10z

About me: 18 years old and not in education. Effectively a full time poker
player, although I don't make any significant amount of money off of it
at the moment. I guess you could say I'm in poker education

short term goals:
  • 20k hands before the end of the month
  • improve daily habits (e.g. study, exercise,...)
  • improve at nl in respect to theory
  • update this thread daily

long term goal:

Hey man gl, will follow you.

Why so low goals for playing fulltime? 20k hands? That´s only 1h day by 4tabling.

I only play 2 tables, and at the moment I study at least 2x the amount I play. So that's 2 hours playing + ~5 hours studying. Which is only 7 hours...

Actually, you convinced me, 40k hands it is

&ty for the luck + following

Not playing full time, but learning full time.

At the end of the day I'm not too worried about that stuff. The goals are flexible and I won't let them get in the way of doing what I think is best for pokersuccessEV

im praying your downfall to come sooner rather than later. its better for reality to hit you while your parents are still willing to help you rather than reality hitting you when you are homeless in the streets because thats what the end result will be. you are not ready and its obvious based on your mentality and approach to the game. you have alot of growing up to do. you cant even make up your mind on what you want to do, youve changed so much from the start of your last thread and not in a good way lol.

Hey guys, thank you very much for taking the time to give me the advice. But I've already heard the same stuff 100 times. I don't have anything against negativity but let's try to keep these sorts of comments at a minimum from now on please, unless you have anything new to say. Thanks to anyone who's following.

I think about hands - generally ones which I have played, but sometimes imaginary ones which I think will be useful. I think about the specific opponent's range, my range, how things will play out if I check/call/bet/raise on the present and future streets. And all the normal things, I think. I have PioSolver Pro but I don't think I'm at a stage where I should use it too much yet.

Also, hopefully people will comment on hands I post here, which will give me food for thought and at least tell me if I'm spewing horribly

Getting ready for the grind now. I will aim to play 1k hands -> study -> play another 1k hands -> study some more. No idea if that's a good way of structuring my poker day but there's only one way to find out..

Well, if you're looking for people who will encourage you, let me modify what I wrote previously to:

Go for it man! I believe in you!

Did that sound genuine? You could be the guy who wallows in his own delusions receiving pats on the back from people who couldnt care less about you. Or, you can listen to people who have been in this exact same spot and experienced the misery that comes with what youre trying to achieve.

Which delusions?

Perhaps I should have just pretended I was going to school for this thread, if people can't help but focus on that...

If people want to post to my thread just to say that they think I'm going to fail, they can. However, there is no reason to try to convince me that I should be doing something else - as I've already decided what I'm doing. All their reasonings have been presented to me before - I have considered them and made my decision. It's not like I don't know what I'm getting into.

It's not so much about being negative as it is being realistic. Sure, I may troll in other threads but this isn't one of them. Op is 18, about the age where these kinds of decisions can have a huge impact on his future. While doing my degree at University, I ran 20$ up to a very significant amount of money and I'll tell you right now that focusing on my education would have been so much more beneficial for me long term. So again, disregarding good advice from people who have been in your exact situation as "negativity" would be downright stupid.
