Day 2
3.5k hands today. I ran 8 buy-ins under EV in all-in spots but managed to play decently. I could have saved a buy-in or two today but followed my (bad) reads in a couple of spots where I ended up getting money in in bad shape.
I feel like I'm superior player in these games and expect my true winrate to be around 10bb/100 but we'll see about that.
Variance
I thought about variance a lot today. It is really hard for human to understand variance even if you can but it in words somewhat well. You can tell yourself that it is normal to have a losing week or a month but when you're there, it's very easy to be constantly blaming either yourself or bad variance. Falsely or unhealthily blaming yourself is really bad to you because it makes you start losing confidence which is needed if you want to be making the best decisions you are capable of with your skill set.
Once you don't view yourself as someone who knows something, this game starts to make sense. No one really knows but the ones who are willing to admit that (about themselves, to themselves) are capable of actually getting rid of playing poorly. That will rapidly make you learn things really fast.
