Today was a very tilting session, basically spent the whole session trying to get out of the red. It seems that a very large pool of calling stations come out on Fridays to play every pot they can.

I'll post the hands tomorrow - very emotionally drained from this session.

We've all been there.

Better day tomorrow.

Ended yesterday's session a bit better than the previous graph:

The galaxy has aligned today and I've taken down some big pots.

Looking over some hands:

Should have checked the turn. After reviewing this hand, I realized the villain has a 3b frequency of 3, which means he either has JJ/QQ/KK. I'm losing against 2/3 of those hands on the flop.

One of the unlucky hands today. The villain sucked out on the river with one of his 3 outs. This is also part of the reason why my EV chart looks strange today. It doesn't adjust for how much money was put in on the turn.

Very happy to take down this pot. Villains couldn't get away from their flushes.

Some of yesterday's hands:

Weird spot. I thought villain could have trips, but it could also be AQ, FD, or straight draw.

Good play by villain. I thought he had a draw, or possibly a worse king.

Unfortunate spot. I think I'm always calling here, because villain could have a worse flush or trips.

Are you ****ing kidding me. Had 3 villains suck out with their two pair today. This is ****ing bullshit.

Man extremely frustrated today. If I were getting outplayed by opponents I would have no complaints. Instead, I'm getting sucked out in spots I should be winning 9/10 times. ****ing ridiculous.

Here's today's session in a nutshell. After getting through a emotionally draining session yesterday, I ran it up in the morning. Then, ended up losing all the profits today, in spots that I'm 85-90% the favorite to win. **** all-in EV charts, especially since it doesn't consider how much money is put in before the all-in.

Frankly, playing poker just isn't worth the time. I'm getting pissed playing thousands of hands well, only to have variance take away my winnings in a couple hands where I'm the 85-90% favorite to win. The time that I'm spending on this just isn't worth it when factoring the chance part of poker in. I'll be taking an indefinite break from poker, and spending my time on coding, which rewards skill without variance.

This.

Also, think about the times you where behind... and ended up winning.

I thought you were doing well. Just need more time.

Overall, I am up on NL10, with an overall win-rate of 5 BB / 100.

That said, I haven't really enjoyed the last month or so I've been grinding. I mentioned this before, but it's like dealing with a bipolar girlfriend who's mood changes day to day. I picked up poker because it's a strategy game, but it's different from Starcraft II where the better player wins. I just don't enjoy how much variance there is in poker and would rather find something that rewards skill without as much variance.

Currently in my day job, I'm working at a startup as a software engineer. I'll be spending the time I'm playing poker to instead work on my own project, and go from there.

Your overall game needs to improve, that's why you aren't winning more. ( massively sinking redline for e.g. )

You have to accept this reality or you'll never improve and be stuck with the mindset like you have now, that your poor win rate is all down to luck.
