I guess I'll quote my last post since it's at the very bottom of the previous page.

And in case you're unfortunate enough not to be familiar with the glorious currency that is the Swedish crown,

Only managed to put in ~81 hours though, but I'm still pretty happy with it all things considered.

NL100-200 online (6m & FR)

+$1128 over a total of 4 sessions (#grindcity).

Total results - June: +$8109

Not sure whether this is my biggest month this year, but it's certainly my biggest live month at least. Not by a huge margin or anything, but still.

So, a super quick TR/summary of last weekend. It was definitely a fun trip overall, and it's always nice with a change of scenery. Weekend trips are pretty exhausting though for obvious reasons, and I was completely dead by the time I got back on Sunday (didn't stop me from going straight to the casino from the airport though (..and booking a $1k loss due to poor play/playing corpse poker)).

I was gonna post a picture of myself, but I don't really wanna go full ****** wrt outing myself. But yeah, basically ended up doing a bunch of this:

and this:

Good times.

A couple of questions, since you live and play in sweden and I planned on going there for 2 weeks in october:
What casino do you play at? How do they rake and what games run there?
Also in general what is the cost of life? (the price of a cappuccino should give me a good idea)
Any restaurants that are musts?

Keep it up and keep crushing! (and you swedes have no right to complain about russians and actually gotta start sharing your secrets with the rest of us dreamers sooner or later, we wanna make some munny too )
Glad you like it. I play at Casino Cosmopol, which is the only casino you're gonna find here (state-run, monopoly etc.). There are a total of 4 casinos in Sweden, and you'll find one in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Sundsvall.

NL10/10 (~€1/€1) and NL25/25 (~€2.5/€2.5) run daily, and for PLO it's the same except ~€5/€5 runs as well. The max buy-in is 200 bb.

The 10/10 games are raked at 10%, capped at €10. 25/25 is 5% capped at €10. So stay away from 10/10 basically.

As for the cost of living, it's quite high compared to pretty much anything. Whenever this topic comes up people love bringing up the Big Mac index, so I guess you could take a look at it here: https://www.statista.com/statistics/...-for-a-big-mac.

I wouldn't know where to start with the restaurant question haha, sorry. There's a ton of good information online though obviously.

I was gonna post a few hands too, but this post is already too much of an essay. I'll make another post later today or tomorrow instead.

Went to Europe for the first time Sept 16 and stopped by Norway/Sweden/Finland. Beautiful country, although the cured fish takes some time to get used to.
Yeah, Northern Europe's definitely got a lot to offer.

3 sessions so far this month,

Saturday (live); +$353 over 5 hours of play
Yesterday (online); -$447
Today (online); +$364

Was really difficult getting myself to go to the casino on Saturday, it was a huge mental battle lol. Figured it would've been pretty dumb not to go though, since I won't be able to play much live poker in July, and I don't know when my next big live month will be.

On Thursday I'll be moving to a new city, much farther away from the casino. This is going to suck obviously, but yeah, couldn't pass on this career opportunity/it would've been career suicide to say no. At least the apartment's amazing, so it'll be a clear upgrade in that respect.

We'll see how things develop, but until I move back here/get a car, the vast majority of my poker volume will be online. Planning on moving back here pretty much asap though, but I don't know when that'll be. Maybe like 6-9 months from now or so, since I need to perform well in my new position over a meaningful period of time for it to matter/be of value. It really really sucks though since I've truly been loving everything about live poker this year.

On a less depressing note, 'Games Done Quick 2017' is being streamed on Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/gamesdonequick) right now. Been watching it literally nonstop since yesterday, nostalgia overload etc.

Couldn't stay away from the tables, and I ended up winning another $418 for a total of +$782 today. It's a shame my main site won't even let me access my hand histories, would really like to post some hands. ****ing stupid.

Anyway, since I don't have any online hands to post I'll share the biggest live hand I played last month:

HJ opens to $10 (losing/break-even reg), Hero 3bets AA to $40 OTB (the third 3bet vs him in less than an hour), SB folds, BB (rec) cold calls, HJ 4bets to $160, Hero flats, BB hasn't folded a hand in his life and isn't gonna start now - BB calls

$1200 effective.

Flop (~$483): K62 BB checks, HJ bets $280, Hero calls, BB folds

Turn (~$1043): 5 HJ jams ($760), Hero calls

River (~$2563): 5

HJ sighs and flips over AKo, claiming he was trying to get me to fold the same hand, and I scoop the ~1k bb pot.

I obviously expect to run into KK a fairly decent % of the time here (was basically thinking "**** this world" before calling ), but it's live poker/people tend to make extremely weird plays, and I just can't fold.

Haven't played a hand of poker since my last post. Spent most of the week preparing for the move/packing and then actually moving. Took me forever to pack/unpack etc., but now most of it is done. I'm really happy with everything and the apartment itself is absolutely amazing. I'll post a pic or two once everything's been set up.

Back to work tomorrow, and I'm feeling a bit nervous for the first time in forever. May have risen through the ranks a little too quickly/might not be ready to take on this much responsibility -- but it'll certainly be an interesting challenge. Pray for OP.

Want to get back into poker/set up a strict grinding schedule asap, don't wanna ruin the momentum I've got going this year. But I'm obviously gonna have to see how demanding my new position is first. Roll the dice.

Beasted through loads of this on my iPad last few evenings haha. IMO Goldeneye the most interesting one, people have been running that game since like 2001

Ashamed to admit I watched an hour long video about some guy documenting the decelopmwnt of speed-running 1 circa 50s level over the course of 50 years lord

Haha, Goldeneye's my favorite too, along with the NES/SNES Super Marios & SM64. Coincidentally they're also the games that make the best speedrunning games imo, mainly because there aren't too many RNG-based sequences (so it comes down to actual skill etc. most of the time).

The most ridiculous speedrun at SGDQ this year was prob Final Fantasy 7, took the runner about 8-9 hrs to get through the game. Classic speedrun time.

Haha, I guess the FatRat song gave it away? But yeah, I do watch it from time to time. Not as much as I used to, but as long as NiP's three-man core's still around I'll at least be mildly interested in how they're doing (in other words; I only watch some of NiP's biggest games). When I was a kid and really into CS they were huge, so it's pretty cool that they're still around doing their thing 12-13 years later.

Glgl!

Tjena tjena!

Well yeah, I suppose you're allowed to, technically speaking. You'd (obviously) be the least popular person at the table though, so there'd certainly be additional social pressure or w/e. Plus I mean, whenever you're in a hand you're not even allowed to look at your phone, so I guess that'd make multi-tabling on an iPad pretty much impossible.

--

Ok so, bleh, work. This week was the worst. Would get up at 7 am every day (the horror), stay at work until 5/6, get back home, eat something, basically just be too exhausted to do anything, and then eventually I'd pass out and boom welcome to 7 am again. Really gotta sort this out/try to optimize my time etc. or something, because I really don't wanna live for the weekend like an amoeba.

As for poker, I've put in three online sessions since my last post. Two on Friday (one before going out, and one after having been out (standard )) and one yday;

-$349
+$459
+$418

So this means I'm somehow up $1241 this month. Pretty decent considering I've barely played a hand. Really missing the live grind atm (or just the grind in general, lol).

--

Something a little different -- if you're into comedy, I would recommend one of the most recent stand-up specials on Netflix ("The Standups"), but only the first episode with Nate Bargatze. The other comedians are either super mediocre, or they're just women (turns out there are literally 0 funny women in the world apparently). But yeah, the Bargatze episode is pretty amazing.

Time for a quick update.

I didn't play much more after my last post in July, but I lost a bit and ended up winning ~$800 in total. Extremely tedious/non-eventful poker month overall.

This month I've been playing more, maybe ~20k hands in total atm. Results on my € site:

Sadly I haven't been doing as well on my main site, where I'm currently down $1100ish. Plenty of time left to turn things around there though. Should be able to hit 40k hands this month.

A couple of random hands:

I also downloaded OBS and recorded the entire thing with live commentary. A pretty fun way to play, especially since it forces you to articulate your thought process. As for what I'm actually gonna do with the footage, who knows. I just wanted to give it a go basically.

Two usually (occasionally three if I'm playing tournaments on the side or w/e). It's not a huge problem since I just place the tables along the very edge of the other screen(s) I'm using.

A final update for the year.

This month I finally got to play some live poker again. I booked a hotel from the 25th until today and managed to put in close to 60 hours of live poker. The final result ended up being ~+$9k, which is pretty ridiculous when you think about it (about 1200 hands at €2.5/€2.5 (even though it plays more like a €5/€5 game due to stack depth and constant straddling etc.)). Super fun to be back, loved every second of it.

I also managed to play a decent bit online this month (100z),

This puts the year at ~+$40k while working full time and barely playing at all for 4-5 months.

Seriously considering quitting my job to focus on poker full-time, at least for a while to try it out. I'm pretty certain I'd be v happy with a 60/40 split between live and online and probably much happier with things in general since my current situation is awful (working insane hours due to having put myself in a spot where I'm essentially irreplaceable while living in a truly horrible ****hole of a city lol, 10/10).

We'll see what happens in 2018. I need to figure things out in January.

Wp for the year mate. Give it a crack imo but make sure you give it plenty of consideration beforehand!

                  All the best for 2018!!!
