TY mate! Honestly I think starting my cooperation with Gordon from the scratches was/is an awesome experience because I implemented some basic fundamentals(''Keep things simple'' philosophy) and also worked on a problem of mine since always and that was discipline. So yeah, getting back to NL50 after X amount of months with some other skills improved seems like reasonable choice. But never really played on ZOOM(besides some video producing) was rather active on Rush

TY and GL to you as well! About the tables it depends how I rate myself and how much action there is. I take a lot of notes and if I get too much action I go to 3 tables and if it's still to much I go to 2. In general I only play 4 when there is not much to learn from the hands or I'm behind in my hands/day schedule.

So back from the weekend and due to some life issues looks like Monday had to be my free day. I put I decent amount of volume but with awful results. I'm somewhat happy that I also got finally a bit of bad run for period(sort of I was hoping for) and I'm so angry at myself how I reacted. Arghhhh.....I was really looking forward to test again my discipline but I came up with a decent amount of BS instead. Hate myself for this moments. I guess currently the only thing that tilts me are iPoker software and me being undisciplined. But yeah, here are the results:





And since I got RB for last month my cashier looks somewhat ''NL50 ready'':



As soon as I got the last 5BI I will shot for NL50. Don't know if it's gonna be normal tables or Speed. Will see what will make my hourly look better.

Nice thread im going to subscribe to this one and its my first never usually catch them early enough haha. Your dedication to putting in so many hands especially at such low levels has really inspired me. I know myself i would find it very mundane and i would end up treating it as play money because the $ value is so unsubstantial (wrong way of thinking i know). I myself purchased gordons heads up course maybe a year ago and ran extremely well at 50NL on pokerstars taking 3 different shots at 100NL in the space of 1.5 months. Sadly i had to withdraw for real life reasons, i kind of needed the money but mostly my girfriend had a huge problem concerning my future because i wanted to work up to playing poker for a living and she wanted stability and to move intogether at some point and basically wanted me to have a proper career.

We since split up a couple of months later which affected me really badly as i loved her with all my heart and we had been in a relationship for 7 years from the age of 15. Anway its been a long time but im back, currently only have $125 to deposit a month and i cant bring myself to play nano stakes so im using a 5BI rule to begin at 25NL 6m on stars. Extremely aggressive but i will adjust by only playing 1 table and staying away from high variance plays until i can begin to build a proper bankroll. If i bust i will wait until the next month so i can reload. A little unconvensional i know but once i get the ball rolling there should be no stopping me . I plan to get back into 50NL HU when i successfully break through 100NL 6m.

So yeh just thought i would post to say you have doubled my motivation to get back into poker and i may even make a thread like this of my own as i think it would be highly beneficial.

good post op, i got the book for exactly the same reason you mentioneded and wow, a few small changes, ie opening books range utg and middle pos, folding to 3 bets alot more, stealing a bunch more etc and total turn around after terrible week last week. feel really confident and think this is going to cut down alot on the monster up and down variance I am prone to. So you are giong to 50 regardless of results at 20? with the right roll?

Guess I was more lucky. I had my GF supporting me from my NL2 journey since I always had the philosophy ''RB for living winnings for BR''. It gave here security so she was from my nano stakes shots with me. But I guess she also liked the idea of me being home. Maybe she dreamed of me being a poker pro and a house made!

TY! I personally don't know what I really prefer. Guess I really never had the table selecting skills(I guess lazyness) so I would say I'm better off with fast poker formats since they allow me more flexibility in my grinding schedule. Although TBH I think normal tables suits me better(in terms of my ability).

Yeah, pretty much it. I also tried to play a little bit more advanced in the last 2 days because I were closer to NL50 but guess what I got better results with sticking to the book. I guess now that I have the fundamentals I should to maybe try to deviate now only with deep profound reasons.
And yeah, I will move up to NL50 now that I have the roll and be pretty happy with my 4,5bb/100 WR at NL20 which is reasonable sticking to the book. Maybe I will be back to NL20 after a day and making up my WR


So the last 5BI are here and from tomorrow I will start an NL50 shot. It will last 5BI and if they are over I will move down. Today there will be no grind since I put the hours in the last 2 days because I wanted to have 1 more free day for some off table work. In general I simply like it more 5days/48h. Really looking forward to the shot.

About the session I can just say that they were pretty frustrating. Especially on Friday it was pretty tough since I was at some point 8BI down but still recovered somehow. Anyway here are the results for the last 2 days:

That's really cool about your girlfriend. Are you using 30BI for your current stake and taking 5BI shots? Mate iv'e got to say its so impressive that you have turned $50 into $1500 in 1 month starting from the absolute lowest stake. I hope this inspires a lot of people who think today's games are too tough etc. Also i hope it shows Gordon is actually pretty dam good at what he does, i do agree his marketing style is aggressive and i think he would be so much more respected if he took yourdooms approach and just let the product speak for itself.

great job- 20nl at speed is pretty legit- def less winners yhan 10 an 50.

Well, we haven't decided about the BRM rules besides that the shot always lasts for exactly 5BI. For the Micros it was the 25BI rule. Now since I reached Low Stakes I thought I should probably increase the amount of BI needed for the new limit. So I can't really tell you if I will shot NL100 with 30BI or 35BI or 40BI. A lot will depend how Gordon rates the quality of my game.

NL50 left me we mixed feelings. Yesterday and the day before I played very good/OK-ish poker but today it was just horrible. I mean I started the session in a very, very bad way and the bad quality of my game combined with a slightly worse run of cards culminated in me reaching the first stop loss in the challenge. I still feel good and OK with the limit and I hope that with volume things turn around. Anyway here is what I accomplished:







Not much to add besides that I it hurts looking at most of the hands since I can't recognize myself. But yeah, tomorrow is another day!

You follow exactly the instructions in just that one book "no bull**** 6max poker"? Does it teach you how to adjust to opponents?

Things were kinda doing good until until this weekend. Had to take yesterday my free day due some IRL unexpected problems and today I was planning a 12h grind. And guess what as last time I hit stop loss. This time I fought big time. I was close to stop loss after 40min and managed to get back again in the green zone but then again variance went ahead and drag me down. I mean I feel I was a little too Cally in some spots so can't really say that I played my A game but it wasn't like last time me D game. I would rate myself today 3-3.5/5.

Anyway here are the results for the last 3 playing days:







So that's it for today. I hope tomorrow Gordon and I might more objectively rate my today's performance. Hope for some good run tomorrow!

So direction changed in the challenge. Now becoming mass grinder. I mean I was spending a lot of time while 3 sometimes 4 tabling and taking every possible note. So the volume was lacking a bit and it looks like given fish/reg ratio on Speed that volume due to the deal might be the way to go to reach this then 10k$. So currently trying to get 6-7k hands per day which seems fairly reasonable. Also if I could held a 2bb/100 WR it would be awesome.

20nl speed is def tougher than 100nl stars reg tables, do you agree or disagree? Because of rake, and 95 percent "pro" regs from cheap countries. It baffles others that haven't played in the games because imo 25nl zoom is a cake walk, but no rb. Your right, with good rb and a positive wr you can build quickly with lots of volume. Are you deviating now from the book as you have SOOOOOOOOOOO many reads on the regs that it is almost impossible not too in certain spots? Thanks.

Challenge Days: 40&41&42

IMO it's hard to say if it's tougher or not. I mean I never played NL100 on Stars so I can't say(I also don't like saying) anything about. I can say from all fast poker formats(I played Rush, Speed, Zoom NL20/25 an NL50) up to NL50(I refer to NL50 & NL20 mostly) I would say that Speed is the toughest for 2 simple reasons. First reg/fish ratio is the worst from all 3 sites and the second reason is I guess obvious to all of us but also we have to keep in mind that the games at iPoker are simply played on a more aggressive/spewy level. About the rake it's higher then Stars but still not like unreasonable compared to other sites. But still made yesterday a calculation for a friend and SN Level 2 is still less worth then iPoker with a good deal(didn't try for Level 3). If someone interested in the rake for certain limits and formats take a look at this site.

About the reads I deviate sometimes from the book/more then on NL20 or below but I'm still weak in BvB spots for example. I don't float a lot, don't X/C, XR w backdoors even I know the spot might be profitable.

Things being swingy lately as you can see below in the graph. I also increased the amount of volume and managed today for example to mostly play 8 tables of Speed. I had my fair share of problems handling it and I was lost in some situations but in general I was doing OK. So here are the facts for this 3 days:







I also made a calculation of my hourly but it's sort of simplified(number of hands/hour, bonuses, races, etc.) but it still gives me a picture that my decision of actually going for volume might have been the better idea in terms of hourly



Anyway this it from me guys. Next update will be next Sunday since I leave for holidays and will be back on Friday to start grinding again. I'm already 94k hands for this month so I still have to pass over the 100k hands mark but with +20k hands/3 days I think it shouldn't be a problem.
