I actually have both but I'm HM person so I couldn't get used to PT. For me is HM simply the better program and although PT is less ''hardware dursty'', less buggy and in general runs more smoothly on PC's(especially with a bigger database). So I use Hm2

I hope everyone is enjoying Sunday. For those of you who play the lotteries I wish GL and let the variance be on your side.

I just finished my Sunday/Weekend grind. I though I will pack all 3 days in one a little bit longer post then usual.

Anyway, the results where extremely OK. But before I start to talk how I did let's take a look at the actual results:





So as you might see Saturdays second Part of the session was hard. I mean in general I was extremely pleased with how I played almost all session. I sticked to the book in all terms making some small adjustments when I think the gap between the EV's of different lines was so big that it was close to incorrect. What I also noticed that I became so disciplined that's like close to amazing. I think I was so proud on myself about Saturday Part 2 because I think I could have lost way more since people were consistently using the nuttish lines like X/C, X/mR T or mR OTR etc.
I was worried for a moment about tilt since I played higher and now some NL5 regs run me over but thanks to Tilt Free Today and in general my willingness to see this ''sticking to the book'' as challenge helped me overcome this vicious feelings .
All in all, very pleased with my performances at the tables and so now the cashier looks like a new NL10 shot might happen soon:



So let's hope the next shot will be more successful then the first fail in this challenge. So guys enjoy your Sunday!

P.S. Anyone any recommendations for a cheap laptop for a budget approx. 400$?

My best advice is to NOT save on buying a decent computer. Dont waste money, but dont be stingy.

I am going through your BPC thread at the moment, but goddarn it is big... :-)

I agree with Gordon on a PC, go for an Intel I7 chip would be my advice, and a name brand with good reviews. Dont buy subpar, if it is going to be your workmachine.

Look at the problems Jurassic got from what he bought, and it might have been a good machine, but there is so many components that has to work well together to make for a fast computer that runs well too.

Think of it like an orchestra, it only plays well if all musicians work well together, if not they do not get very far.
And you don't want something that gets too hot, and freezes on you in the middle of the days most important/profitable hand.
It will pay for itself in not lost income in the end even though you wont notice because there is no issues.

Yeah, well I was actually looking for laptop that will not be for primary use but rather from a backup and most likely temporarily(1year approx). I want to use it for poker when I will have to be mobile so I can keep up with the working schedule. Sort of like if I have to go somewhere for a couple of days I don't wanna take days off but rather grind this 3 days on X place. So yeah, any suggestion might help. I actually have one in sight but wanna hear what people say. And yeah, my blog isn't the smallest on BPC

Seem like the shot worked. I mean I didn't play that much hands but I have now comfortable BR for 2 tabling NL10. First 2 sessions were good then I decided open the book 1 table and resolve every scenario possible. Like having XY on X position and you wonder what the chart says. The postflop I said to myself I would CB here the book said no. Was in general checking my knowledge of the book. I think I mastered preflop but looks like I didn't postflop. Anyway will work on that more tomorrow. Here are the results for today:

I would still go for quality, and maybe look for a 2nd hand quality machine, that is no more than 1 years old...

Sometimes you get lucky and can find someone who are upgrading to an even better machine and get a good one at decent price.

Then buy a dongle for mobile internet, and you can even play at your parents house when you have some spare time too...

One advice would be to search for reviews on the model number before buying, a lot of people like to share their experiences with most mainstream models.
Good luck finding one.

I also recomend you second hand, business machine.

A nice to know OddOneOut

Sort of didn't held my word about updating yesterday but felt really bad about not updating yesterday as planned but felt pretty gross to leave the result of the sessions in the last 2 days in the red so I pushed the session until my GF started yelling on me that I should get ready for cinema because we already paid for the tickets. So yeah, had a nice evening and today enjoyed my free day in the sun with 15°C and once it gets dark it's time to work off the tables. Anyway I felt good at the tables but I feel my roll is a little bit too skinny for 4 tabling so I will stick to 3 tables max. Anyway I set myself a goal that by the end of this month I will shot take NL20 and I really hope I will be able to. Anyway here are the results for the last 2 days:



Croatia played on Tuesday so my session was a little shorter :P



So cashier looks now pretty healthy and I hope weekend will be more successful and I might hit the 400$ mark. Maybe I shouldn't expect anything

Challenge Day: 17&18&19

Hi people,

OK my weekend grind is over. I think I currently like updating every 3 days because I anyway mostly have 6 working days a week and so 2 updates a week seem reasonable. Anyway had to come up with the schedule because football celebration from Tuesday created some left overs. On top of that on Friday afternoon I got a bad news regarding my mother but a couple of hours later I pulled myself together. Although not mentally really there that evening but thanks to the quality autopilot that I earned/got from the book I was able to still come up with a decent profit(of course on Friday there are as well more fishes). When I'm thinking about I didn't play a crusher/sick player but rather felt like a robot. I knew in 80-90% of the situations what I have to do(not talking about the most +EV line). It definitely feels good to able to rely on a good system when you have to keep on pushing but you are not mentally ready/absent.

I should probably stop talking and actually post results :

On Saturday evening, especially in the end I didn't play really good. I mean I grinded in my career +12h day after day (longest I think is over 24h) and it didn't effect my game that much but it's a while ago and guess my grinding muscles lost on quality. I was deviating way too much because I was close to 500$ and wanted to get there so I could already move up on Sunday and started to make mistakes(Jeeeez Hans, how often do you have to learn not to hunt or expect anything in poker ).

However Sunday I got my last 4 stack and now I'm ready to shot take NL20 tomorrow. It's gonna be for 5BI and don't know if I will play 1 or 2 tables. I wanna play 1 and add another when I make like 2 BI but I wanna pass this month the 100k hands mark(missing 18k hands). Will see tomorrow. Anyway off to relax a bit before some off table work.

So guys,

just for those of you who might be interested how I did on NL5 here are the results:





I will also get a nice RB(1st December) for playing this limits which is actually quite funny but it's definitely welcome since it might help to start an NL50 shot sooner as planned .

Not super happy with my results but I also don't really care since it was just another small step on the scale to the top. In the end don't think this are my actually skill results since I was sticking to the book but I found the results for stick to a book quite OK-ish . I will actually take things more serious when I will get in a zone where I don't feel comfortable.

Shot went somewhat OK. Guess this will be a new test for my improved discipline since games on NL20 become a little more aggressive so it becomes sometimes even more frustrating but that's the point. It should hurt . It shouldn't be easy since that's the only way to grow for me currently. Will definitely keep you informed about this since first 2 days were extremely good on this topic but today it was meeh....not really proud of it. Anyway here are my results for the last 3 days:

I just played 10k hands over last two days at didn't ssee u at either 10 or 20? Werid. U are crushing. How do u have a wr like that with the rake so high? And especially because people are pretty darn good on ipoker speed.

oh how much rb are u expecting on the first? In 3200 hands at 20 speed today I raked 70 bucks. U must be expecting like 300 or so?

I guess I run goo honestly. But what I also don't really care is if the people are good or not on this limits. I follow a system and that's it. Not much too say. Of course I make from time to time so deviation from the book in terms of less variance play(I rarely GII pre for 100BB) or good spot to barrel etc. But again this cases are rather rare. And honestly I don't expect anything since I want to surprise myself

I so exhausted I can't even write. I grinded now for 20h(18 of play) and just finished. It simply had to be this way because otherwise I wouldn't reach my 48h weekly mark. Yesterday there was an Europa League match and in couple of hours I have to catch a bus so I can visit my family/go to the referendum. But yeah, I survived it and here are there results:

I will get some RB on Sunday that will boost my BR so I expect maybe somewhere next week to shot NL50. Will see and I guess one step at a time.

Month Report: November

Anyway for me November is in the books and this is are the results:





So I somewhat happy with the results. I put around 200h of play and this will be my benchmark for the future once. Volume was OK-ish. I was hoping 115-125k but yeah I will make sure next month will be better in terms of it. Definitely room for improvement.
I understand the purpose of me sticking to the book every day better and better. I think it's a good experience and for those who don't believe that I switch completely to it take a look at my pre book graph:



Anyway that's it from me related to poker play. No there is some off table work that has to be done. I guess sleeping will have to wait till tomorrow. GL guys for the weekend!
