Hey, Hans, I'm interested in these yearly stats -
how many hands you usually play per day,
how many hours per month,
your hourly,
and overall yearly experience/stats for 2014 (or for the last 6 months, so discarding the beginning when you were at microstakes - I'm more interested in how things are going since you caught the groove).
If you could post that before the vacation, as an overall summary at the end of this season, that'd be great.

It's been a while. Been on Part 1 of my vacation and tomorrow I'll rest for another for another 3 days. But that doesn't mean that I was short on work. I put 4 days and almost 40h just to not fall behind dramatically this week.

Anyway since I came from holiday things went kind of down. Which was to be expect because I can't run hot forever. Now it's time for ''So,so sick!'' and all this nice sentences that are coming out when you run bad . Today it was specially painful since I dropped 1,5BI at NL1k . But at least the grind itself payed out and I got RB which will serve in this update as makeup for the loses.

July Report

Well, I hit again a record month. I got 20k$ in winnigs + 8k$ RB for an 28k$ month. Once again a very nice gift from variance which can be see below from the graph. Money wise I won't complain but game wise it's a BE month(I didn't really improve) because I was mostly focusing on volume which I'm happy with giving that there was WC + vacation. But at least each month something interesting.



The goal for next month is obviously finishing the challenge. I would love to take maybe a couple of days to tweek my blind, BN play, preflop etc. so improving will probably come second in August if needed.

Anyway, that's it for today. Next update somewhere in August! GL!

Hansthegreat pays me a good % of his winnings, because he is smart enough to see that he gets a lot more than he pays in the long-run.


Anybody making similar money in other fields has to study 4+ years and then suck d1ck at some office for another 15 years.

While i wouldn't call his success "instant", it is about as instant as you can find anywhere. However, most people are not even willing to work hard and invest in themselves for coaching (not restricted to me / bestpokercoaching , but ALL coaches, coaching sites and offers out there).

Obvious respect to OP for incredible work ethic and skill level but to suggest its bad advice to say to a Micro grinder get a job and learn this part time at first based on this shining stars success is mental.

The reason is most people do not have the work ethic to succeed at poker (myself included). So quitting work to try and grind to the top is going to be a spectacular -ev vs playing in your free time. Guy phrased it pretty harshly and on this occasion was proved wrong but its results orientated to laugh at it. Sometimes 2 outers hit and win all the monies doesn't mean the general advice not to shove all in on a 2 outer is wrong. How amazing his results seem compared to everyone else is proof of this.

To reiterate though Hans is awesome and deserves all his success and should be an inspiration in terms of his work and dealing with downswings. His results are just the byproduct of this IMO.

TX guys for the support! It's funny to look at the quote now but I never said that I quit my job or made like a super irrational move. I finished college and got my bachelor degree but found love for something else. But this kind of comments is what motivates me the most so in some sort of weird way I'm very thankful to HighHeat for the comment.

So guys,

It's time for an update. Vacation has been awesome and I came back so refreshed. Monday was already grind day and so I was back into action. But there is was 1 thing that I hate about summer. I want to hang out more since a lot more activities going on, more foreign friends, family stop by and all this takes so much time that all of a sudden I'm forced to play 100h in 10 days in order for this month to stay a normal month. One of the things that I hate is falling back in terms of hours/volume because of the freedom poker gives. But lucky I put yesterday a 15h session that allows me to still enjoy a very nice evening with cooking/drinking cocktails etc.

On the table it was generally pretty interesting. Higher stakes running hot while lower stakes running ****. Luckily the higher stakes overcame the bad lower stakes run so the overall results for the last 3 grinding days looks like this:

Ola fellow poker players,

Yesterday 3:50AM CET it was the time where I won a 1/2 NL400 BI which was probably one of the sweetest moments in my poker career. I finally finished a bit over 9 months challenge. It was such a big amount of joy that overwhelmed me that I started to jump in my flat although whole neighborhood is sleeping. It simply feels awesome to know that you won 100k$. This are probably the magic poker moments.

Yesterdays day was like designed for me to finish the challenge. Set at the NL600 tables fishes started to spew as well on the NL400 and slowly the amounts of $ accumulate. Also on top that everybody had the bottoms of their ranges, every bluffcatcher was good, most sets got payed out and so on. In the end everything looked like this:

I will soon, probably tomorrow, write a challenge report to summarize everything and put interesting facts in it. Till then GL at the tables!
