Life background

Hi 2p2ers,

My name is Diego and I am a 23 yo lad from Spain currently living in London. I came to the UK 5 years ago to study in Manchester and after graduating and finding a job I moved to London this past November.
I love basketball, travelling, and getting absolutely ****ed.
I also firmly believe Manchester is one of the greatest cities to live in. Come at me.

Poker background

My Sharkscope graph and I agree that I am a losing online player in the Micro-Low MTTs over a 10,000 sample over the past 4 years. Luckily, I have been able to sustain the bankroll thanks to matched betting, betting on horses, and a few live binks and live cash. Liferoll is fine thanks to savings and a 9-5 job I have now, but I’ll leave personal finances away from the thread.

In September I went to Nepal for two weeks to trek from Lukla to the Everest Base Camp. It was a pretty rewarding experience. To summarise it quickly, the locals were great people and the views were insane. Unfortunately, the other day I misclicked Delete on the whole album for that trip. The only leftovers are a couple pictures from other people I have been tagged on Instagram. That made me come to the realization that in general (never been a picture/writing guy tbh) there is nothing at all really documenting what I do, nothing to reflect back on. Thus, this thread.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been binge reading some of the most popular MTT threads in the forum. Huge shoutout to blakkman, WalmartCNXN, acbarone and yugiohpro for being an inspiration for this one. Although my graphs, food porn and writing will certainly not be at that level, I will try to keep this thread as consistent as possible. At the end of the day, it is something I’m doing for myself. Call it a little diary.

Regarding the thread, expect some fishy thinking processes, weird Boom replays, little life updates, and most importantly little rants about poker, goals (or the lack of them) and life.

Enough for an intro I’d say. Time to fire up some Limit Hold’em in the SCOOP streets.

Good luck at the felt, and thank you for coming along!

A pretty meh session comes to an end as I find myself one-tabling the 5.50 SCOOP PKO. Although it sucks to be one-tabling one of the lowest buy-in comps in the schedule, the words SCOOP Day 2 are pretty damn sexy.

The session itself was pretty uneventful, punting off my highest buyins and getting fairly solid results in the mid-low end. Nothing fancy, slight loss. Roll still around $5k. In terms of hands, I did not even bother to mark or BOOM any, which means we can only get better in this aspect.

I have not yet mentioned any goals, and that is because there aren't any. The plan is to go month to month, quite likely changing formats to avoid burnout. Who knows. I will certainly grind hard during SCOOP, and at the end of May I'll see the amount of profit/loss and games played. We will go from there for the future.

Regarding screennames, my plan is to share them for the first time when I have a nice little lobby screenshot to share. Till then, you'll have to guess which fish-tagged player I am in your table.

Quick note: There are many things I need to improve which I don't know how to (i.e. technical aspects, say 40bb rejam spots v HJ/BU); but there are others which I do know, one of them being game selection. Long story short, do not register a $11 12%-raked Hyper Satty to an 8-Game Scoop if you don't know the rules of Razz.

Peace out and gl ladsssss

What up people,

Decided to take a little break today and yesterday as my energy levels felt very low for a grind after the 9-5. Not feeling guilty about this at all (despite what the voice in the back of my mind says) as I did manage to sort out loads of errands and the SCOOP events were not that great.

That being said, the degen in me forced me to register the $5.50 5-Card PLO PKO and the $22 6-Max in the late evening, and today I am one tabling the company's home game.

Ended up busting late in the day in the 6-Max, I'll leave you with a weird one:

Feel free to share your thoughts!

Although one-tabling for the sake of it without making it a proper session is certainly a waste of time, I do find it quite enjoyable. Deep down, what makes poker fun is the puzzle aspect of it and how unique situations are: dissecting someone's range, our own perceived, tendencies of player groups, pot odds etc. Removing the autopilot aspect of my game for as many tables / as much time as possible can only lead to more enjoyment and way way better decisions.

I also decided to reset my stats in Sharkscope, as I want to use BOOM to share hands and my username is going to be displayed there anyways. Many of you probably already have me tagged as a fish-reg but that's the prize one has to pay for being a fish-reg (if that is even a thing). The main reasons for doing this were:

1.- Tracking purposes: I would like to set summer goals based on the volume I am able to put on during SCOOP, and that is much easier to see on a fresh new graph.

2.- The graph is pretty ****ing embarrassing, ngl. It is pretty likely by the end of the year it will be similar to how it was before, but no harm in seeing if the strategy/mindset/lifestyle changes I made over April have an actual reflection.

I will grind on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, as Friday will be reserved for my favourite activity:

Spoiler:
DAY DRINKING

That's all from me, gl on the felt boiiis!

Spoiler:

Spoiler:
HORSE did not save the series

- FT bubbled the BB11 with 9k up top after beating 76 million players

- Fulfilled long time goal of playing SCOOP ME

- Fulfilled long time goal of playing SCOOP ME x2

- Fulfilled long time goal of playing SCOOP ME x3

- Fulfilled long time goal of playing SCOOP ME x4

Unfortunately I got hit pretty hard by [S]inability to stay focused over long periods of time | tilt | playing mistakes | lack of energy to study | playing too high [/S] THE HIGH VARIANCE OF LARGE MTT FIELDS

(those [s] where supposed to mean strikethrough but **** it)

The grind continues.
