I only played two tourneys and two freerolls tonight. I won the first of the two freerolls, which paid $10.50. Then I finished in second place in the second freeroll, which paid $90. I went 0/2 in the real tourneys though with a few rebuys in each game.

The $5 rebuy tourney starts in a few minutes and I've had a bit of coffee tonight so I'm gonna play it.

I finished in 2nd place out of 8 entrants without rebuying, which paid $17.50.

My manager and I are chopping another $80 today.

I went 2/7 last night with a second place finish and a third place finish. In all I lost about 22 bucks.

So far tonight I've failed in a freeroll, and I've won two tourneys, with $25 and $75 prizepools.

Still playing the $2 + .20 rebuy and the $5 + .50 is coming up in an hour and a half.

I requested authorization for sit n go action and my manager said to go for it at the $2 and $5 levels.

Today I've played a freeroll, two tourneys and two sit n goes. I failed in the freeroll and the morning $1 rebuy tourney. I finished 2nd in the first sit n go but failed in the 2nd. Then just now I won the $100 gtd $5 rebuy tourney. It took a few rebuys but then I got some good hands just at the right times when people were doing dumb stuff. Once we made the money, I had a big lead and coasted with easy decisions. It paid $67.50, which puts me right back to where I was yesterday morning at 1am.

I played a freeroll and six tourneys yesterday. I cashed in 2/7 with a win in the $1 rebuy and a second place finish in the $5 rebuy. However, I actually lost a dollar in the $5 rebuy because I busted out so many times.

So far today I've played 4 tourneys and two freerolls. I failed in both freerolls as well as the first three tourneys. One tourney that bugged me was the early evening $5 rebuy 100gtd, I had a lot of chips and lost them all within the matter of two hands. I had a decent lead with 2x as much as anyone else, but I blew it on a ~6:1 favorite with KQo vs AKo on the Q33 flop. I check shoved and he called my all in drawing to an Ace. He hit two of them. Then I was out soon after that. However, I managed to put that loss behind me and I just won the evening $1 rebuy that paid $46.50, in which I only rebought and added on once each.

Now it's time for the late $2 rebuy. Well see about the late late game.

I played two tourneys and a freeroll yesterday. I went 0/3 including a big loss in the $5 rebuy 100 gtd. The game was particularly wild featuring a player that was open shoving with about 80% from any position. After many rebuys and an add on, I was still the short stack in a six handed game with two spots paying. Needless to say that I failed to cash. I lost a total of $49.50 on that one tourney. I still think it was a great spot to be in but this time it didn't go my way.

Why don't you limit yourself to max 3 rebuy + addon?

Because there was a guy open shoving 100+ big blinds utg in a six handed game with 96o and other terrible hands from every position. I was getting into pots with strong hands but the cards didn't go my way. Perhaps I could have avoided a few of the more marginal spots by playing a bit tighter, but I like my play.

I played a freeroll and six tourneys. I cashed in 4/7. I finished 3rd in the nightly freeroll for $4.50. I finished in 3rd in the $5 rebuy for $33. I won both the $2 rebuy for $75 and the late late $5 game for $35. Was a good night.

Thanks.

Some close decisions from last night:

both decisions had me as the medium stack in the cutoff with ~15 big blinds, button had the big stack and the blinds were in shove or fold mode with <10 big blinds. 3 spots pay.

In two consecutive orbits, I folded 33 in the cutoff, and then KJo in the cutoff.

I may have been able to profitably min raise, but that would have given off a sizing tell that the button and blinds could have exploited, since my standard raise is 3x. I thought it much better to fold and avoid a bad situation.

----

Another, weirder spot:

in the money, 3 spots paying, I have 45k in the big blind, button has 10k, small blind has 60k, antes are pretty big and blinds are 1k/2k.

button raises to 9.1k and I chuckle as I call K8o.

AK3r

checks through

9o

checks through

3o

checks through

I scoop vs an unimproved Queen high, which left the player to my left with 900 chips or so. I managed to exploit the situation after that, as was my reason for allowing that hand to check through the river. Having a very short stack to your left, and a big stack to your right, is a good spot to be in late in a tourney, and this spot had all the ingredients that allowed me to climb into the chiplead soon after that, all with minimal exposure vs the big stack.

I played three tourneys and a heads up sit n go yesterday. Went 0/3 in the tourneys including a frustrating bubble elimination in the $5 rebuy. I won the singular $2 heads up sit n go, so the day wasn't a total loss.

Also, my manager and I chopped up $80 so the bankroll is a bit lighter because of that.

I played six tourneys and a freeroll yesterday. I won the $25 gtd $1 rebuy, which paid $12.5, but in all I only cashed in 1/7 tourneys. I bubbled a $5 rebuy $100 gtd and had another poor showing in the other $5 rebuy $100 gtd.

Also, my manager and I chopped $40 so the bankroll is a bit lighter because of that.

I played one sit n go and three tourneys yesterday. I cashed in 2/4 with a second place finish in the $25 gtd $1 rebuy, and a third place finish in the $50 gtd $5 freezeout. However, another poor showing in the madness that is the $100 gtd $5 rebuy game, which features a $5 add on for ten times the starting stack, hurt my bottom line. I finished in fifth place with three spots paying out of 15 entrants.

Just had a pretty good night. In all I had three wins. I won a 4 max $5 sit n go, the 25gtd $2 reduced rebuy tourney, and the 130gtd $2 rebuy tourney. I also played a freeroll and the 75gtd $1 rebuy, but I failed in both. I finished the night with a 5th place finish in the 50gtd $5 game without rebuying, but only 3 spots paid.

Just a question I have been wondering about since starting to read this thread - why are you getting staked when playing such small buy-in tournaments? It seems it would be much better for you to play with your own money, since you seem to be more or less crushing these tournaments. Is it because of discipline/tilt control reasons perhaps?
