Needing to make it in poker Needing to make it in poker

I'm rekindling my dream. In college I played a lot during the boom times. I grinded 3-6 on ultimate bet and made a few grand. Then when I was 29 I moved to philly to play live poker. Turned out to be a bad idea as I wasn't as good as I thought. Quit for two years, then got the urge again. I learned how to play, studied the game, and played full time. Went broke, moved back home.

Now have a steady job, which doesn't pay great, and is stressful as hell. I play once a week or maybe twice. I'm making more playing poker than at my job, playing 1-2 plo. It might just be a hot streak.

I want to play tournaments to really get a good score. I have 5000 saved up, not counting all my debts (credit cards, student loans, adding up to about 40,000).

My parents hate the idea of me playing poker. And I hate living at home. They are cool enough to let me stay here to get back on my feet, but being around gthem drives me insane.

I need to study tournament poker in depth. I have a good feel for cash games. Need to learn the math on tournament poker, as I feel it is more math than cash games. Anyone know where to start?

I want to have a million by the time I'm 35, maybe 38 is more realistic.
