Sadly no. I have a tough time finding a much better-curved monitor than what I have now, BUT I would love to add a bit more resolution to my monitor. 4k monitor would be great, but I am afraid it would be too wide for playing poker and I fall in love with the curved monitor, so hoping some company comes with proper 4k curved monitor soon.

This time, though I have to optimize my playing sites a bit more to hit my "lofty" goal. I can't make it just by playing on a couple of sites like last time, so I will add few of the softer sites too.

Probably add GGPoker too, but I haven't played there any tournaments yet, but it has some potential.

Also, I will change my schedule a bit. I will start later and play later. Better schedule. The early morning schedule is pretty bad imo. Tough to find any tournaments worth playing, if you want to play ABI $50.

Starting the challenge on Thursday. Let's see how it goes.. I know it's nearly impossible because I would need volume to be around 5-6k tournaments in 30 game days AND play 50 ABI with a very high win rate. Oh well, better to try than not, so feck it!

What monitor are you currently using?

When you saying 'start later' what time is this referring to? (in GMT timezone) For myself, where I live, I'm always looking at trying to start earlier. 6am would be optimal for me (PT zone, GMT - 8hrs.)

Looking forward to following this challenge of your's & am planning on pulling some motivation from it for my own online poker journey.

Hey guys!

All right, so little bit more details about the challenge before it starts. I will be playing around 4 days a week, so I estimate this should take almost 2 months to finish the whole challenge, but there is no set deadline. I wanted to focus on quality this time, so whenever I play, I want to play GOOD. Play a bit less, so you have usually a bit better focus, better motivation etc. To make this, I need to play to my best capabilities, I think the last challenge was easy compared to this. First, I will be playing around 14-15 hours a day and versus better players. I am aiming for ABI (average buy-in) of $40-50 this time. Last time I had roughly $20.

Normal schedule:

Game days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Might change a bit depending on week, but those are the game days I am aiming for. Might be some DAY 2’s, so I need to add some Monday/Tuesday too.

Playing time:

Start later. The problem with early games, there’s just no big games. It is hard to even have ABI of $50 if you play morning games, so I felt like the best would be to start a bit later the day. Around 15:00-16:00 and play till 5-6am basically. Not sure 100% on the schedule, because I have to see which time would be the best, I think the sweet spot might be 14:00, but I would like to start a bit later to have better energy for the tournaments starting around 21:00 for example. If I start incredibly early, other regs will have a huge edge in the mainly daily tournaments, because I will be tired around 21:00, when we are just starting some of the tournaments. Poker is tough without proper energy and it can give you a big edge!

Days off:

Start of July I must take a trip to Czechia, so middle of the challenge there will be a break and midsummer plans are a bit open still. We booked a trip to Estonia like 6 months ago, but Corona messed up everything, so not sure If I am going there. Most likely just enjoying the summer in Finland, though.

New playing sites:

This time I’ll be adding few sites, Unibet, GGPoker(not sure how many games yet), Finnish/Austrian national poker site. Sadly, Unibet or the Finnish national site cannot be tracked on Sharkscope, so I will be just using old school excel or posting the bankroll on the forum.

Cliffs:
- Play four days a week.
- Focus on quality of the game, but high volume.
- Less game days = more focus and energy
- I need to improve my game during the challenge to make it. Right now, I do not think I have the expected value of $70k in 30 game days YET.
- Days off, practice and improve the game with my coach/students.
- One day 100% off from poker every week. (Reset mind)
- Better preparation.
- Walk outside 45 min before game sessions.
- Proper warm-up for sessions (I didn’t do this properly last time). Example of warm-up:
o Motivational video(5-10min)
o Meditate (10 min)
o Visualization (5 min)
o Check 5 hands from tracker
o LOAD UP THE SOFTWARES!
o PLAY
- Starting to play later, 14-16:00 and play till 04:00-06:00. Sweet spot to be tested.

do you also make a cool down after a session? And yes, how do you do it?
Heard it was very productive to let your mind be able to process all the information it gathered throughout a session.

best wishes to you, you really gave my game an absolutely needed push to get better and stop grinding in automode

also, do you do Wim Hof?

all of luck to you, greeting from a bit more southern europe <3

Yess. I try to listen to 10 min meditation/calming music. Bunch of those are on YouTube. It usually helps a lot.

Thanks! Auto mode is the biggest issue with a lot of players.

Wim Hof? No idea what that is.

That's a dude from the netherlands, looks like a hippie but is a multiple guinness record holder.
Wim Hof Method is a neat breathing technique I learned about some weeks ago and the name also popped up in an interview with Liv Boeree asked what her mental training consists of.

Highly recommended, it takes some minutes a day and gives you like some boost in your overall state of mental wellbeing while also lowers inflammation stats in your body . I rather skip my meditation and other morning routine stuff like journaling rather than miss Wim Hof Method a day

Thank you! Very good stuff. Exactly type of thing I could use. I think people underestimate the amount of stress poker can create for you.

It's not about the size of the site, but the size of the profit per game.

Continuing this Thursday. It will be midsummer in Finland(The biggest party of the year!) this weekend and I might take a day off, either Friday or Saturday. Not sure yet, which one. My original plan was to go to Estonia with my friends, but I still decided to skip the travel, because it's not a necessary thing to do (because of Corona). I have to do some traveling in a few weeks anyway, but try to move as little as possible right now.

1000% this

<3

considering if you only view the challenges you started the first one with a real 5k roll and went from 29k to ~27k just now, that is such a break-even session so far

upon sleep improvements:

short 4 min sport in the morning,
cbd products in the evening,
also wim hof
complete darkness in your room helps a lot
