Probably, you own pio and you have a good chunk of population stats. You should run some sims and see what you get. Filter your database for BTN RFI. PT4 range explorer is perfect for that. Then use you're BB calling range for OOP range. Then run a flop subset script. Then an aggregation report for BTN c-bet, also one for BB check raise. Compare with what you are doing in you're game and what BTN is doing. From there you can node lock what the BTN is doing on various flops and see how it changes you're strategy. (Assuming we are working on you're BB srp flop strategy)
If you have the preflop solver you can obviously mess around with some preflop stuff too but I don't have it.
Repeat for BTNvsBB 3-bet... And whatever other positions.
Hint: If you want to study preflop stuff the piocloud ranges are on the piocloud website available for download
I suck at poker but I really like piosolver. I only play poker to get good at piosolver.
Edit: I don't know if the BTN cbets more than optimal but I would put money on it that UTG, MP does vs IP cold call

I'm only playing $25nl on Stars so I don't know how much this compares to your games but the population is definitely over cbetting compared to solvers. It's especially the case on certain boards.

and on the other hand population is underdefending (under x/raising) vs 1/3 cbets

This is what I think. The population may not be over c-betting but I have a feeling OP is under defending (under x/raising) vs 1/3 cbets, possibly even larger ones. He can use pio and his PT4 database to find out. Or at least get an idea. And on the other hand the pop is correctly over c-betting since the pop is under defending.

With the K8s, I think you can consider calling the turn bet with the plan to bluff the river if he checks. I think I'd probably take the free card on the flop as well.

My xr stat is definitely low, only 5% overall, so probably can look to increase that a good amount. The zone pool is xr'ing 10% from BB (not overall).
Can't get PT4 to work to show me fold to XR stats of pool rn.

Not much other news, volume slipping a lot this week due to weekend trip prep and internet issues. Comcast is just the worst.

K8s squeeze is loose but IP vs fish is cool, fold to the cold 4-bet, you're not deep enough to make your position worth it much and SPR will be pretty small, if you consider that both rangea you're facing are very AK-heavy, if you hit your K you're probably not good most of the time, as well as 8x since utf+1 has a,lot of TT+(if he is a fish, as well as KK+ if he is a reg). If you wanna call with some marginal hand, at least choose a handike 67s, 78s,45s that have way more equity vs nutted ranges than K8s. With those hands if you hit a pair on average you will have 20% equity even without a FD or gutshot+, with K8 you could be close to dead when you hit Kx.

I'll try not to .
Was at the casino the other night for some 2/5/(10).

EP (LAG reg-seeming youngish Asian) opens to 20 (standard open size for the whole table), two flats, Hero calls 87hh in CO or HJ, we go 5 ways to flop.

J 9 3

checks around

T

PFR checks, MP stabs 55, one call, Hero raise to 230, folds to MP who calls the 230, then initial caller makes it like 775, we fold, and MP folds 33.
Ensuing discussion indicated it was a good fold. Villain was older woman who was up a lot on the night, have seen her do very questionable stuff before but pretty sure only when losing.

BVB folded to us in SB with QQ, we decline chop to dismay of everyone at table, raise to 15, BB reluctantly calls.

873r bet 25 V calls, Tr we continue 65 V raises to 165, we call??
River 2x we check down and V shows 73ss.

V was an old white guy who played very loose pre. Postflop, he'd done this small raise a couple times, my feeling was it's probably the goods. He had also played pot where he deliberated on river before calling top two pair (board was like J836f9f or something) so he didn't seem like a drooler postflop. There had been a turn raise and biggish river bet when the flush came in so him deliberating was completely reasonable but still a little interesting bc feel like most live players are calling pretty quickly there.

Against this player should we X turn or B/F turn?

cant fold turn, we need 24% equity and have 18% vs most of his value range, as well as implied odds. If he is spazzing Tx/9x it's a disaster if we fold. if he pots the river I like folding

I'm not liking the 87 fold. I know the flop is five handed, but your hand is very strong. I think there is a solid chance that you are up against a set or even pair + flush draw. If you are really deep then I may like it, but I'm assuming 100BBs. If your opponents are playing too snug for you to get it in with the straight then maybe fold preflop. What discussion took place that made you think this was a good fold?

Hehe. Everyone getting mad about not accepting the chop . It is kind of weird how they try and peer pressure you into chopping.

That's a sick spot, because there's a chance the guy has JJ, but we have one guy who cold called our raise which is insanely strong and a backraise, both could have Q8/KQ, all could have 99(but the backraiser, since I dont think he would do that with 99, maybe JJ). I like just folding everything but Q8s+ in that spot, because if we call the cold caller will jam a decent % of the time then we will have the odds to call our sets.

In those suck mw scenarios it's a good idea to go as tight as you can, specially with sick actions going on, they converge people's ranges to the nuts very often.

Why not squeezing pre? Low FE?

I'd like to know the SPR on the flop because I think that probably matters quite a bit on whether this is a fold or not.

If I had 87, I probably would not call the back raiser, but probably jam over it. I think people are raising KQ quite often the first time around. The situation is similar to a preflop squeeze. Sometimes the later position player back raises QQ+ and AK. Often times I've seen people do this stuff with AQ and as weak as 88. AA and KK are more rare since they'd likely 3-bet those preflop. If we are deep, AA and KK are more likely. In this spot KQ is more likely if we are deep.

I think if Q8 is in their range then they probably have a lot of other stuff that is stacking off too lightly. If not, then they will be playing fit or fold on a lot of flops too often.

Lady is described to have done some questionable stuff. Can she take this line with A Q? Q J?

If she has JJ, which actually looks fairly likely, we are in good shape.

Uh oh, I just plugged some ranges into equilab and it isn't looking too pretty for 87s after all. 87s could be profitable to continue, but we have to have a lot of things going our way. It really comes down to whether she is raising KQ the first time around and if she gets it in with weaker stuff. In my experience, players aren't folding KQo preflop as much as they should be.

I sympathize. Long stretches of twisted perverted death that seem impossible, are actually not anywhere near even the long run, including 160 sessions of murderous perversion I just experienced over 2 1/2 years. Never ran bad for more than 20 sessions before over the decades. But mine is live play and not many hands at all. So, I just sat in a game and the first hand was murderous stack death on a 3-outer after 159 sessions of the same thing. A dude described a streak like that to me years ago, and i didn't fully appreciate it. Now I do. Play WELL WELL WELL within your means to survive it is my idea, but the lower the stakes the worse it seems to run. I aint' got no answers.

Finished October with decent volume, probably north of 35k hands when accounting for untrackable GP hands. Ignition:
