I agree with rapi, though sizing not the biggest deal at 200zone since you won't get punished that hard. Probably becomes important at 500nl/zone and higher

Try comparing you're flop/turn raise and check/raise stats to a player that is doing really well in the games you are playing.

2.875x is the ideal preflop betsize imo. This is a 3/4 pot sized bet. The 3/4 bet size feels the most natural to me. If I could choose to only have 1 bet size for the entire game, I'd probably pick 3/4.

To simplify, I open 3x from all positions since typing it out would be a pain.

I have heard of the "open bigger from later positions and smaller from earlier positions" strategy before. I think it certainly is better than the other way around. When people open 4x from EP, I think that is just way too big.

well today was pretty absurd, +15BIs in ~2k hands, vamoooooooooooo
I'll throw up a pretty graph once I get the hands downloaded.
Can't recall winning that many buyins in a day before.

The open sizing discussion is pretty interesting.
I really dislike min opening EP personally, you let too many players into the pot cheaply and end up playing more SRPs OOP, which are annoying, and more MW spots overall, whereas we really want to be HU with our EP range advantage so we can pummel our opponent.

At these stakes, on this site, you want to open larger than 2x from EP as you’ll be forced to play more pots OOP MW and you won’t get as many folds pre.

Besides, preflop open sizes isn’t something I would get too hung up on, as long as your playing solid ranges.

Thanks for posting the clip though.

I was wrong, AQs can get folded

Also I apparently play very non GTO in 3bps on monotone boards. I like to just check my range on the 4flush turns IP. Just tried nodelocking this for IP and IP EV seems to improve overall? Pio is so weird sometimes. Why is our EV going up so much when we're deviating from optimal? Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Make sure you are comparing the EV at the beginning of the game tree and not a branch.

What does the Nash range look like. What does the node-locked one look like. Also, for the future, when you have a full tree loaded and solved, you can node-lock what you want and then go back to 'postflop tree building and calculations' and click 'calculate results' it will then show you how exploitable you're node locking was, you do this before you click 'go'.

Was the range checked close to %100 at Nash?
Pio takes all lines some very small % of the time....

Edit: if you node locked IP and OOP EV went up a miniscule amount at the root of the tree, that is just the way pio converges. Since it takes all lines some miniscule amount, you just node locked it to not take some lines and now you got some small piece of trivial EV.

On the AK hand I think you can consider checking turn and bluff catching river, or betting river if he checks. I don't mind firing the turn, but definitely checking the river once he calls.

The AQ hand is a snap fold. You can't beat the board and you should have enough spades in your range to call/raise I'd think. You need to win 57% of the time since you only win half the pot when he doesn't have a spade. He doesn't have many nothing hands which he can turn into a bluff since he called the flop, so those hands will likely be weighted toward Ax hands which you are blocking. With the higher VPIP we can give him more credit for a flush as well.

^yeah seems pretty reasonable to me. I like betting turn in H1 AK with the two fds on board.

Overall fairly happy with how I finished September volume wise. Was able to get in 20k hands in two weeks while also working part time job 10 hours/week. Job is now going up to 20 hrs/week so maintaining volume will be a challenge but if I can aim for 40k hands/month that seems like a reasonable (slightly ambitious) goal.

BTW, in the screenshot I posted, does anyone know why there's so much variability in hands/hr? I'm 4 tabling ignition, two zone, two regular, pretty consistently across my sessions, so I'm not sure why some days I'm getting only 300 hands/hr, vs. some days >600.
Sometimes I sit out at my zone tables for a couple mins while I use the bathroom, or while I playback hands and write notes on the reg tables, so maybe that explains it?

Depends on the player pool. Some players take a long ass time to think at every decision. Generally the more reg invested the table, the more hands you see. Ignition gives 30 seconds to act. That is a lot of time.

Also if the player pool is nitty you'll get more folds preflop making more hands per hour. Once some dude sits down and plays every hand things are going to slow way down.

They fold too much on the flop so people bluff them a bit more. However, when people start bluffing, sometimes they can't stop themselves and just keep barreling off chips.

yeah that's monthly stat again, overall it's 2.09.
I seem to remember myself having possibly low check raise figures compared to other regs, it's something I should look into.

The thing about zone is that everyone plays too tight preflop in every spot, so it's hard to see how an aggressive xr strategy would be good when the preflop ranges are way tighter than they should be. But it probably IS in fact good because even with the tighter ranges, ppl STILL overfold. That's why figuring out best strat in zone can be a little complicated. Like even though people open tight, 3betting aggressively still seems to be profitable.
