So...

Considering how things will go next couple of months I decided there's probably more EV in going on my own in regards to studying as I want to focus on spots and ways of studying that are more efficient and have more impact on my overall winrate. I'm actually really excited about this and that's also why I didn't post the last days because I've been organizing my approach of studying the next weeks/months and also bought that new laptop I was talking about which I will use for study only.

So anyway, that being said I played a 5.5h live session yesterday which started as a 5/10/20/40 but ended being a 5/10/20 at the end. Won 2.5k, which is ok.

Nice little 10k stack

Decided to quit when I took a decision based on fear, which for me was a clear sign specially after having already played 5.5h. If it would have been a great game or I would just started the session I would've just tried to refocus and get rid of that mental leak, but being it 2.30 am I didn't even bother.

Funny story from last night. Just when I was about to quit 3 drunk Norwegians enter the poker room... One guy I don't know, Felix Stephensen (runner up in the 2014 WSOP ME) and Odd_Oddsen. I inmediately know who they are but the rest of the table don't, and Odd_Oddsen thinks no one knows him. He approaches me calling me Andy Moseley Junior as he thinks I look like him, and tells me he would like to play PLO, that in Norway they only play PLO and he is a fish and enjoys playing that game basically (all this while being drunk, so if you don't know him it would be pretty credible). Anyway, I just tell him I know a really good player from Norway called Odd_Oddsen, and asked him if he knows that guy, he just started laughing and knew it was GG for him after that.

Going to try to put a little online session now before going to the cinema tonight, and after the cinema i'll plan on detail my study plan for this week and will also pick up my laptop at the reception of my condo.

Played some online today and planned the study for tomorrow. Decided to do like a mini challenge (which for many might be their standard, but I'm just a lazy guys when it comes to grinding lol).

I'll aim for 50h this last week before leaving to Mexico which will consist of:

-25h online grind
-15h live grind
-10h study

The tough part will be the online grind, but it's obv totally doable, just didn't want to take this "challenge" (if you can even call it that way) to far and put to much pressure on me, as I will have to handle wedding related stuff, pack for the trip, get my laptop ready, bla bla bla. Will update this daily during the next week end will try to post some results at the end of the week.

No interesting hands today... will just post the biggest hand of the day.

What's up everyone!

So yesterday I studied for 2.66h out of the 2h I planned and they were really productive. Gonna go for another 2h today.

On the other side I played 4.43h out of the 5h I planned but it's actually either 5h or 2k hands/day right now, and I got to the 2k hands in less time yesterday as I decided to mix in some zoom500 together with the regular tables. Results were ok but I played the first session really unfocused, I tend to play less focus when playing zoom, so I will be really careful with that and just quit if I don't feel I'm playing focus, as the main purpose of playing online right now is to improve rather than make money.

For the hand of the day, I got a little owned:

So...

Yesterday I studied for 4.25h out of the 2h I planned, but I came across some really interesting stuff which I hope I can fully integrate in my game soon. This together with installing everything on my new laptop but me behind pace for the grind.

I decided to change the grinding goal to 10k hands instead of the hours. I'm 541 hands behind pace right now but way over the scheduled study hours. So, basically the only thing that worries me in this personal little challenge is that I need at least half day off to do some stuff for my wedding, like picking up my suit and some other stuff. On the other side I'm playing some zoom500 and I'm actually enjoying it, but let's see how it goes.

But anyway, cool thing is I know how I'm gonna spend my poker time in Mexico and it will be studying, as I have a bunch of spots to look into. I totally feel like going on my own was a good decision for studying and that's why the following months I will put emphasis on it to show myself that i'm able to be on my own.

So, today should be a little studying, a little online session and then live poker... buuuut, I have to go see a flat, see a friend for dinner, and possibly go shopping with the wife, so no clue how that's gonna work out (most likely won't).

How are you finding the new computer for running sims? eg how fast can it solve longer trees like BTNvsBB SRP? Would be cool to see you break down a spot that you have "studied". GL at zoom!

Thanks! that moment was pretty funny haha.

So yesterday I studied for 1h, played online for a little over an hour, went to see a flat, had dinner with my wife and a friend and went to play live poker for about 4h. There was a sick rec player who forgot he had like 30k on his deposit, so it felt like free money for him and ordered 2 dom perignon bottles for the table and we started straddling constantly to 5/10/20/40/80/160 and the occasional 320. He busted the 30k in an hour and to be honest I think this guy won't play poker any more or at least any time soon, it looked like he didn't really enjoy it even though we gave our best to let him have fun, but anyway.

In one hand, there's an 40 straddle (the rec)(Just when he arrived), i raise from SB to 200 with JJ, he makes it 400, I make it 1400 with 1800 behind, he calls. Flop 642 with FD, i ship and he calls with ATo and I ship the pot. Ended up only booking a small win but it's fine.

Today is back to online, gonna study now, then will have to go shopping and after that i'll grind.

Allright, so my "month" is over... Flying tomorrow to Miami and the day after to Mexico.

Won around 12.5k$ for the month (between 21st October and 11th of November) between both online and live.

And this were my live results

Then there's a tiny bit of rakeback... I hit one of this btw!

That's the total of hours: 110h

So my main goal for Mexico aside from enjoying my wedding and the sun and food, is to study, I don't know if I might play some hands on the chinese app here and there, but for now I just want to focus on studying, I'm building some trees, and have some stuff to review.

After Mexico I'll be 3-4 days in London, grind some online and then leave for 11 days to Prague for the Pokerstars Champioship, and from there I'll go to see my family and spend Christmas with them. So let's hope I can finish the year strong!

Nice updates and results. I'm v jealous of the $100 cash bonus!

Perfect timing of flying off to Mexico pretty much on the day it freezes over in London!

With pb apparently shutting down do you think you'll play more online or more at the other casinos?

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with how I played online, which doesn't mean that's my true winrate, but I played better than expected.

If PB ends up shutting down I will travel more, and play more online when I'm in London for sure. My family is in Spain, so I might go there a bit more often if .eu comes out, and grind more there, but not sure yet. Live poker in London right now is bad enough, so if games get even worse there will be no point for me in playing live over online when I'm here. We'll see, for now I'm not worried, I'm confident that I'm a winner in live games, online or even those rigged chinese apps, so I think there will always be a solution.

What's up everyone! Long time no see...

I returned back to the dark side of the chinese apps for while, but today I finally quit and this time for good.

A lot of stuff happened since my last update so let's try to write some of that stuff down:

-So first stop since my last update was Mexico... always great to be there but this time even more as I got married! Had an awesome time and played a tiny bit on the chinese apps. After Mexico I decided to change my flight and spend a couple days in Miami before returning to London. I can't really remember what I did in London those days but it can't be to important.

-After that I went to Prague for the Pokerstars Championship and played cash the whole time except for one 1k tournament at the end. I won some, but not much, around 4-5k and games were really really bad, probably the worst I've ever seen cashgames on a festival.

-After that I went to Spain and Germany to spend Christmas with the family and also just before the end of the year I got convinced to return to the china apps, and that was by far the worst decision I made in a long time. When I quit back in October, the day I quit as one of the best feeling I had in a long time, and this time when I went back on the apps I had to play staked as it was a condition from my agent if I wanted to get the best games there... anyway, went on a ridiculous downswing and felt trapped on those apps and the down just didn't seem to end... but now I'm finnally out of those stupid apps and will focus again mainly on live poker (which is the poker I enjoy most) and online mainly to improve and implement the stuff I study (which is the part I enjoy most of poker), basically exactly what I was doing when I started this thread.

-In february I went a week to mexico to my wife's best friend wedding and then I spent one month in LA grinding live poker, with some mediocre results, but still can't complain. That city is just amazing in my opinion, most poker players hate it, but I think it's because they stay close to the commerce casino and that's basically a ghetto. I stayed in Venice and man, I just loved everything, the games where good, restaurants, the beach, just everything.

-Once I was back from LA, I spent about 3 weeks in London, where I grinded live and the china apps and also put quite a lot of time into PIOsolver. It was the moment I studied again that I realized I just absolutely hate the china apps, as I just can't get better as a player on there (it's just an opinion), and decided I would snap quit the day a get it back to even. Anyway, I went on a pretty big upswing both in the live games and the china app so that was pretty nice.

-After that I went to Barcelona for the Partymillions and played mainly cashgames and the initial 1k (as I still didn't have the money available for cashgames) and the main event and busted both. I busted the main against Patrick Antonius, where he 4b jammed BTNvsSB with 66 and cracked my JJ. I did pretty good on the cashgames, but again the games where pretty bad, I actually just took the last 2 days off.

*Oh also during those prior 3 weeks in London and the 10 days in Barcelona I started working out and dieting like crazy and got to lose 6kg, and I'm still grinding the gym hard and looking to lose another 6kg before vegas.

-After Barcelona I'm now here in London again, I've been grinding the china app in the morning and played live 1 day, and plan on going to play live the next 2 days as I don't have to grind the app anymore. I'm here for 3 more days and then I start my holidays prevegas.

-I'm going a week to Spain, and from there I will be 3 days in Singapore, about 3.5 weeks in Bali, another 3 days in Singapore and back a week in Spain before heading to Vegas for a month during WSOP! The plan in Bali is to just relax, lose those 6kg and study all the PIO sims, I redid the sims with a friend, and will relook everything, starting with 3BP OOP as aggressor, SRP IP as aggressor, and the same as non-aggressor. I'm not saying I will do all that, but I have sims for those spots and the plan is to study whenever I feel like studying. I think it will be a good way to prepare for WSOP while also relaxing which I really need as the china apps really created some kind of anxiety, my stress levels where just super high.

-In Vegas I plan on playing the 3k WSOP 6max, 1.7K Venetian 6max and the ME, and the rest will be cashgames. I'm super excited, I still have to book everything, but the plan is to stay at the Vdara again.

Anyway that's it for this update, I hope to post some pics soon with some chipporn, fancy restaurants, etc!
