I skimmed your thread a bit, so forgive me if you’ve already talked about this, but WRT your sleep, high intensity weight lifting plus daily meditation and breathwork has improved my sleep tremendously. Essentially it’s easier to sleep if my body is exhausted and my mind is calm.

Also, if you drink caffeine, don’t have any after 2pm, and tbh I’d recommend trying to kick it altogether. I used to drink several cups of coffee a day, and now I just have 1 cup in the morning and I spend the rest of the day drinking water non-stop. My body feels much better.

Thanks for your post and for taking the time to try and help me with my fatigue struggles.

I drink 1 cup of coffee a day right when I wake up. Since Coffee is nice for the morning routine and for focus in the morning I like it. But at the same time caffeine gets me slightly anxious (the more caffeine, the more anxious I get). So I bought some caffeine free coffee this week and I will consider giving it a go. Also on the water advice, I mean. I'm having troubles believing you with your username. It seems like some sort of advertisement.... Haha jk, All I drink is water all day long.

I also meditate twice a day, Do you mind explaining "breathwork" a little more?

Next week I'm planning on going to the gym again. This will be huge because in order to have a nice life again it's time for me to break my social anxiety and just go for it!

^^ there are many different kinds of breathwork but this is my favorite, aka the Wim Hof method. There’s lots of different benefits of the practice which is explained in the description of this video. As someone who’s dealt with strong anxiety, imo the breath retention periods are a great practice to teach your body and mind to slow down and relax when your mind and body want to panic.

I also think the gym helps with social anxiety. If you’re physically fit, you’ll naturally have more confidence, which helps with that, imo.

All right 100z is going well so far. There are 2 things that are standing in my way in terms of volume right now:

1. Winners tilt; every time I'm up I have like a tendency to play safe and quit the session as soon as possible. It's even so bad that after I'm up a bit I want to play safe and play 50 instead of 100z for the rest of the day. I was a bit complaining about it against one of my pokermates. After that I decided it's time to stop being a pussy, loaded up some 100 tables and I got rewarded with a massive heater.
2. Fatigue; FFS, the fatigue is back. I mean, today I'm like a zombie again. I'm trying to keep being in this motivated state of mind. I'm feeling relatively good lately and I'm looking forward to the future. And I enjoy being in this grind-mode to work hard on my goals. But it's hard to keep pushing when I'm this tired. I was on schedule for another $400 in rb but I decided not to do it with this fatigue what was an amazing decision. I think this fatigue is a cause of terrible sleep. Next week I'm planning on going to the gym again so hopefully this helps with sleeping better.

Anyway, here are the 100z results since Thursday:

In terms of poker July must have been the best month until now. My understanding of the game keeps growing day by day and for some people who took the same path in stake climbing (and studying theory) this maybe seems familiar: I have some sort of idea what I'm doing right now which feels very good. I'm obviously overconfident but self conscious enough at the same time to know that when I look back at me right now in about a few month I will say I was a fish back then. But it's nice and satisfying this hard works is starting to pay off.

I'm now around 6.5 months into this journey. When I started this blog, I genuinely thought I was lying to myself. And that this was just another thing I'm gonna give up after two months. There was no way I could see myself whaling around in 100z after 6.5 months. In July I set a new high in monthly amount of money made (Which is an allrighty amount compared to Dutch standards) and this is only the beginning!

I just realised I'm struggling with this for months.... Last 3 days it has been terrible. I Obviously can't play because of this but also studying isn't going great. Hopefully I manage to find a solution soon.

Haha just AQs with the BDFD, so I missplayed the turn pretty hard by betting (blocking BC-BF range). But I had a strong feeling he was bluffing OTR (because he is not jamming a middling PP for value on this board, he has some Kx hands but also a bunch of air, and he is more likely to bluff me to troll me), so I tanked and considered calling hahaha It was one of my first days in the 100 pool so I pussied out. Disclaimer: irrational rant

I'm coming to the point where I'm a bit desperate with the state of my mind. Those 2 weeks the brain fog was semi gone were amazing. I remember last Saturday were I literally almost had tears of joy because I'm was finally doing well again. Right now I'm back at completely rock bottom. I felt **** and unmotivated all week. I feel so much frustration and hopelessness. I have no idea what to do, I called up my pointless doctor and he came up with some captain obvious advice. I'm barely eating because I'm afraid all sorts of food make the symptoms only worse. I probably need to start relaxing a bit when it comes to searching the internet for a solution. I was in control in terms of poker. I was up around $500 this week but today I was completely out of my mind, and I still tried to play... I punted away around $750 with like 0 thought process. It's not the end of the world. I don't even feel bad about it because I'm still properly rolled for NL100 and I know when this bs is over I'm gonna go back to ****ing crushing and climbing in stakes. But when DOES it come to an end. The feeling of wasting time is killing me.... I'm struggling with this for months and I feel like it's only getting worse and worse.

So I think it's best to just take like 5 days off, the reason I didn't do this before is because I'm in an amazing flow when it comes to poker. And I'm sort of scared to get out of it. But after the donations of today I need to take a break anyway. So I might as well give my mind some rest.

I think this has something to do with my gut, it would also explain the over sensitiveness for some food and allergies which I never had before. Because I'm so desperate, I tried a low fodmap & histamine diet on my own. I'm losing weight after two days of starting it, so I think it's best to try this again with the help of a dietician.

Advice, solutions and other comments on the subjects "brain fog" or "oversensitiveness to allergies (all over sudden)" or "gut problems with the link to fatigue" are highly appreciated.

At least there is some positive news this week:

Okay since the last update I took a few days off. I had some beers with a couple of friends and on Sunday I literally did nothing all day. On Monday I felt way better and motivated again and since then I'm trying to deal with the brain fog as well as possible. So last Friday with 8 stacks in 100z punted away in 15 minutes was a nice wake up call that it's really important to be aware what the risks are when I'm not in the right mind to play/be foggy. I'm doing some mad rituals pre session right now haha & I'm mainly studying.

Because of the punt-session, my winners tilt is completely gone. I'm really enjoying the 100 pool. Some regs really try to give me a hard time (and vice versa) and that's what I like about poker. The sessions are really intense with lots of heartbeat-monitor giraffes.

A few post's ago I said I had trouble implementing the mass theory consumption into my game. Lately it's going better and I can confidently say a lot of it is automatic in my gameplay. I've gone over most common spots (some in slight detail, some very simplified) and I repeat everything a few times a week. Now it's time for the next step in terms of study. I can dig deeper and play very complicated strategies on some boards but I think in my current pool it's not worth it and the ev gain would be miniscule. Obviously I'm trying to reach high-stakes so I need to study it deep anyway but I think it's better to start studying rivers properly right now. But I have no idea how to do that on a similar approach that I took previously. I don't like it to just tag hands and study them because if I do it that way it's not going into my system. I just like to have 1 topic which I grind for a day and then I repeat every now and then afterwards. Advice is appreciated, also if you guys have suggestions for other cool spots to study that can lead to nice ev gain I would like to hear it.
