My Journey to the WSOP Main Event 2020 My Journey to the WSOP Main Event 2020

Hi folks, had another PGC from months ago, mainly played cash but haven't played much over the last few months since i've been really busy with life stuff and doing matched betting on the side as well.

I've made enough money from matched betting to afford to pay for my dream which is to play the WSOP Main Event at least once in my lifetime (if I cash i'm definitely going back )

Only thing is it's been a long time since I played any tournaments, live or online. I play the occasional home game/casino game sure, but i'm always drinking and just playing for fun not taking it seriously etc, from now until I leave for Vegas next sure i'm going to try and play a few online tournaments a week and try to play a few live ones as well and take them seriously, work on my tournament strategy etc so when the time comes i'll be in decent shape to play

Will be tracking my progress in here, posting results etc from all tournaments I play. First one is the Sunday Storm tomorrow night, will try to play 1 more before I go on holiday on Thursday.

Wish me luck! 2020 WSOP Main Event Champion is here folks

No luck in the Sunday Storm last night, busted just before the money, dwindled down to 8BB and lost a flip, couldn't get anything going at all but happy with the way I played especially patience wise.

Will try and play one more tourney before going away on Thursday

Oops I completely forgot about this thread, I haven't cashed in any tournament i've played yet

Only play a couple a week, Sunday Storm + Daily Marathon usually, haven't been able to find the time for a casino tournament since I came back from holiday.

Only one year to go until WSOP 2020, cannot wait! Probably won't play much over the next couple weeks as i'll be busy watching all of the main event on PokerGo/TV

$5.50 sunday storm - +$4.02
$3.30 8max - -$3.30
$1.10 KO - +$1.32

Results from today, finally had a chance to play since the WSOP main event is having a day off lol

Played in my local casino tournament yesterday, didn't fare too well.. I was bubble boy! Brutal. Lost QQ v QQ for most of my chips and then got it in next hand with QQ again v AT, I don't mind losing these types of hands as it's only 70/30 but it hurts a little when the flop comes QxT, then turn A and river A, ouch.

But it's good to get some live poker experience again, hoping to play live at least once a week

My plan today is to play the big 4.40 and the daily marathon that starts in an hour or so, maybe another tournament tonight if I aren't too busy.

Cheers guys, surprised to see you in here Dizzy lol

Ran KK into AA in the big 4.40 and then squeezed 18 bigs with 22 in the BB v BTN open and SB flat, BTN snapped me off with JT, board came QQ33x

-$9.90 today, bit bust tonight so won't be able to play any late tournaments.

Hoping to get a new car soon so i'm able to drive again to my local casino rather than rely on lifts

Thanks

Been too busy to play last couple days but it's Sunday so will be playing a few MTTs today - the Mini Sunday Marathon and the Sunday Storm later. Might play the Mini Sunday Million as well, i'll wait and see.

I min-cashed in both the $5.50 Mini Sunday Marathon and $11 Sunday Storm PKO, can't seem to win a flip to save my life after the bubble bursts oh well way it goes sometimes.

Also played the $22 Mini Sunday Million, got knocked out after about an hour GII on a KTx flop with KK, guy has QJ and hits a 9 on the turn

It's a bit brutal playing for hours and hours just to min-cash for a $3 or so profit especially playing online. Don't mind it playing live because at least i'm physically at a poker table and socialising rather than a laptop, it's main reason I prefer playing cash games online and tournaments live.

Hopefully get my car sorted out this week, don't want to overdo it as I still have a year to go before Vegas but my plan is 2 nights a week head to the casino and play a tournament there and play the Sunday Storm/Mini Million every Sunday and also the Daily Marathon a couple days a week. I like the Daily Marathon, 10k starting stack with a good 15 min blind structure so plenty of actual play rather than most MTTs when it gets to push/fold time pretty quickly.

I may play Daily Marathon tomorrow depends if i'm home at 2.30pm when it starts, probably not so next tournament will be on Tuesday more than likely.

Cheers

No play today as I was busy, not sure if i'll be able to play tomorrow either as I have plans. Hopefully will play a casino tournament this week, i'm looking at the choices and Thursday night one in Glasgow looks good. Monday one looks decent as well, so Monday/Thursday will probably be my casino nights once I get my car sorted.

Been busy throughout the week but played in the Daily Marathon today, no luck at all had to rebuy after getting knocked out early with an annoying hand A5cc on a K23cc flop, K turn and 8 river, he had K8o then I got it in with 30 bigs with AKs against AA and KK, turned a flush draw but missed

Will be playing the micromillion main event tomorrow night and maybe Daily Marathon and Sunday Storm/Mini Million as well as i'm completely free all day tomorrow.

Busted the MicroMillions Main within the first hour, 2 bad beats with AK v AQ and then AK v A8 then I was gone

I'm currently 22/299 (6,093 total) in the Sunday Marathon though, got 443k and playing and running well so hopefully I can keep it up long way to go yet though

Finished 18th for $70, just couldn't get anything going in the last hour went down to 10bb blinds going high got it in KJ in sb v BTN's AJ couldn't get lucky

Ah well I must admit I enjoyed every second of those 11 hours, was great - cash games don't give you that heart thumping and adrenaline feeling lol

Made another good run in same tournament as Sunday, finished 228th this time, at least I got it in good oh well onto the next one!

You'd think playing for almost 6 hours for just $10 profit would be demoralising but I love it! I'll take that tournament down one day i'm sure of it

Got my car sorted so will be playing live Mondays and Thursdays starting next week, and will play my usual Sunday tournaments plus this Daily Marathon one whenever I get a chance.

Another min cash under my belt! Sunday Storm got it in with 15bb 5 mins after the bubble with 99 v AK and lost, down to 2bb and trebled up with 69 (lol) then I was nearly back to where I was next hand with KQs v A2 - Q on the flop but A on the turn to knock me out

I will be playing at my local casino tomorrow in Glasgow - £30 + £6 £2,500GTD with 40k starting stack so looking forward to it, should be good

My plan is to play that tournament every Monday and also Thursdays £25 + £6 £1,500GTD Megastack as well. Maybe if I do well i'll add another one in the future, we'll see.

No luck last night, was a good game though decent structure had 450bb to start with with 20 min blinds so plenty of poker able to be played will definitely play it again. Definitely a bit rusty playing live though!

Next up is Thursday night

Keep going deep. Eventually it turns and you win some of those flips on the final table bubble.

Made the money! 7th for £70 which was a £40 profit happy with the way I played especially my short stack game, was short for a long time but managed to scrape into the money before busting A4 v QQ, couldn't get lucky.

I also won a shitload playing blackjack during the break, I always stick £20 down to pass the time if I lose it then i'll just walk away but i'll keep staying there until the break is over - tonight I was running insanely well. Hit 3 perfect pairs (pays 30/1 £3 each) and 1 straight flush (pays 50/1 £3) so that was £420 there then I just kept hitting 20,21 or blackjack and dealer kept going bust so I ended up winning £750 in 20 minutes was crazy, what a rush lol
