I'm Matu a 21 year old Singer-Songwriter, Business student and I'll say amateur Poker Player. I am currently living in Buenos Aires Argentina, and I'm starting this thread because I had a great time doing this in my Last Thread, which was all about poker because my goal was becoming a poker professional, now my whole perspective has changed and I feel like I have grown up a lot since then.

Music is what I'm truly passionate about today, and I love being able to pay some things that come with music with poker money, because that's my other passion. I started playing poker 5 years ago, with pokerstars bankroll promotion (Free $8) and after a 1 year struggle, i still have no idea how I didn't loose that money, I managed to slowly start beating NL2 and then Nl5 and so on.

Right now I'm trying to beat 25NL zoom 6max and I know that two plus two will help me do that, not only by your comments but I believe that just the fact that everytime I stop and write my thoughts in a hand or my game in general, that makes me a better poker player.

I took a year break from poker and slowly got into it again. I played a long time without a hud because I was playing NL5 just to keep up with my music purchases I did or some ps4 game I wanted to buy. Some months ago I added the HUD and started playing daily. Here are my graphs since then.


I don't think I'll update the thread daily, but probably twice a week at least, I really hope you enjoy my content.

First update: Today's session was pretty good, I'm happy with the results, but there are a still a bunch of spots while playing 25NL that I have no freaking clue where I'm standing.

The struggle is real, it is taking some time to recover from my heartbreaking 25NL failed attempt. Hopefully I'll get to turn things around eventually. This strong downswing really affected my game, a bunch of doubts turned up and it's getting really uncomfortable to play. I'm dropping back to NL5 to regain confidence in my game and hopefully I'll be back to NL10 soon.

So i'm updating the thread on a Tuesday because I had a very ****ty Monday. So I drank a little bit to much the the night of the 24th and spent the entire 25th puking, a day I would love to forget. I'm definitely spending new year sober.

Pokerwise, I didn't play a lot and things didn't go well. I decided to stop watching youtube videos and other stuff while playing, but I sometimes get bored which is kinda ****ty, I need to learn how to focus on one thing and stop multitasking.

Monday update

After puking the entire day after Christmas, I decided to not drink for New Year and I'm really happy I made that decision.

Not feeling very good pokerwise, I'm between playing 3 or 4 zoom tables,
while playing 3 tables i get bored and start reading the news and doing random stuff, and when I play 4 tables I feel like sometimes I take ****ty decisions. I believe that the true answer to this dilemma is get your **** together and play 3 zoom tables focusing without doing any other ****, but it's not that easy haha.

Music Update:I uploaded the cover of Shame by Ciaran Lavery, but as you can see in the beginning of the video I don't have a mic stand on my hometown so I had to hang the mic. As a result the mic ended up being a little to far so the quality is not the best.

I'm also paying this producer I met on reddit 10$ and he just mixes and masters my recordings, I always pay him with poker money so that's why I'm -$25 instead of -$15 from last update.

Hey FuzzingIrish, good to see you back playing. You had a question about what music we listen to while playing. I used to listen to music sometimes while playing, but now I usually don't. I think it's a good idea to stay away from music that might affect your emotions while you play, cause it might lead you to play sub-optimally. Plus, if you're not listening to music, it's easier to think with a clear head.

About the aces hand, I think it's fine to get it in there. If he's calling a 3bet with T7s, he's probably calling a lot of stuff. And for all the times when you'll be ahead on the flop, you'll more than make up for the times you lose when he hits his trips or whatever else.

Are you saying 9-10 BIs over 10k hands is the biggest downswing you've ever encountered? I'd love to be you hahaha. Then again, I was complaining a few days ago about a 4BI downswing lol, so who am I to talk.

Hand 1: I don't know how others feel, or whether or not I'm right, but I don't like calling here with low-mid suited connectors. They're on the low side equity-wise vs opening ranges. I prefer using them as 3bet bluffs to balance out the stronger 3bet hands.

Hand 2: With an UTG open and no callers, then I prefer just calling in the BB with KQs, as it's strong enough to call with. I would use weaker hands for 3bet bluffing. With all those callers already in there, then I'm not really sure what I'd do. I think maybe you could use KQs as a 3bet bluff, but there might be better choices. Regardless, I think your 3bet is too small. Maybe something closer to $0.85-90. I would probably choose lower suited connectors again and/or some stronger suited Ax hands (that aren't strong enough to call with) to 3bet bluff with. KQs might be a bit weak.

Hand 3: Yeah, I believe it's spew lol. First, I would just fold QJo preflop. Again, I think there are much better hands to 3bet bluff with (which I assume is what you're doing). Maybe you could call, but you're OOP and could get squeezed by the BB. All of which would affect your ability to realize the hand's equity.

As played, I would check/call the flop, unless you're trying to bluff with top pair. And if that's the case, then I think you should fold to the turn bet after you check.

Hand 4: Once again, I don't like your preflop play lol. I think you should just 4bet and get it in preflop. As played, I think you could raise the flop. But I don't think calling down is bad either. But you can't fold, so yeah, I would then call the river as well.

Just my thoughts from a fellow micros player lol. Take from it what you will.

Haha yup it all started while playing NL25, then dropped to NL10 and then dropped to NL5 but I believe things are finally lining up again hopefully.

What do u use to post the hand histories?

I just copy the hand in poker tracker and then paste it in the hand history converter of two plus two.

Monday Update:Pokerwise was very interesting,In the middle of the week I decided to stop playing zoom for a while and went to the regular tables and I'm really loving it. Got my BR to $200, so decided to take shots at NL10 (3 buy ins), things didn't go very well, I will post some hands of the shot down below. Then I went back to NL5 and ran so bad. I'm feeling a lot better about my game since I started posting, even tough my BR deteriorated like crazy. Hopefully things will turn around.




I think I'll stop posting biggest wins and losses, I'm just posting interesting hands where I feel like I have doubts about my play or some funny hands as well.

It's funny you mentioned playing reg tables, as yesterday I did the same thing. I switched to reg tables (playing NL2 at the moment), as I can play twice the number of hands (with a higher winrate), and build up for my shots quicker. I'd like to switch back to zoom later after I work on my game more, but for now reg tables are more efficient. And don't worry about the failed shot and runbad. Just gotta keep grinding away and sooner or later you'll get back there. As for the hands:

Hand 1: Against a big rec, I think it's fine, as you'll likely get called by a lot worse. I think you could even raise a fair amount bigger on the flop against the big rec.

Hand 2: This hand I don't really like. Your hand is more of a bluff-catcher, and I think I would just try and check it down in a 4bet pot. If you check and they bet the river, then you have a decision to make. I don't know, maybe betting there is ok, but I think I lean towards just checking.

Hand 3: Yeah, I think flatting the 3bet is too loose. I think with more people in the pot, you should be calling tighter rather than looser. The problem with calling looser is that although you get a better price to call, when you do hit something, you're going to run into something better more often. Plus, with more money in the pot, you don't need to fight for it as often (from a, hopefully not misguided, more GTO-oriented way of thinking about it).

And if something is wrong with any of my thinking, hopefully someone will come along and point it out lol, so I'm not sharing bad advice.
