Rest of 2015
I played very little poker (relatively speaking) at the end of 2015 for reasons that will follow in the next post on 2016.
I got to play in some really good T/25 games. I ran good walking into them at the right times and book a decent winner overall. Every time I play these bigger games I realize how much 5/T can be a reg fest in comparison. That's not to say 5/T is more tough, but the player types that I have seen at T/25 can often make that game MUCH, much better than any 5/T running at the same time (with the one exception of MDL, almost always play the 5/T there imo
). From what I've seen, 80% of people who play T/25 are 1) very wealth rec-reg players who aren't drunken spew whales, but have massive leaks and play much deeper. They generally avoid lower stakes because they want a more exclusive environment free of people who complain needlessly about losing a 60/40 pot of $100. They tend to over value their hands when they hit something but generally don't triple barrel bluff. 2) hot shot (tourney) pros who lagtarded/binked their way up the stakes and play much less solid than the pros peddling/grinding it out at 5/T or below, and 3) random degen/whales that either win 20k+ or lose 20k+. Of course there are many decent players who play at those stake, but if at least 50% (give or take, depending on how bad they are) of the players in your T/20+ games don't fall into those 3 categories, then you are probably game selecting wrong.
Won a bit in 5/T, still have a ton of stuff to learn but it seems like I might not have time to do all the studying at least for the foreseeable future. This makes me hesitant to put in more hours because I don't like to spend time on things where I KNOW my ev is not maxed and where increasing it is not unreasonable.
Only played 2/5 a few times but ran pretty good overall. Owned a bad pro once for a lot of chips but then got owned by an even worse one the next time
Think I posted plenty of non-poker updates already so I'll just keep this one strictly poker related.

Speaking of not having enough time to study, I do think that it's not impossible to put in like 30min-1h every few days (and even that would go a long way vs. nothing). I feel like I'm not using my time efficiently though - eg. I like to take my time getting up every day (like spending an hour on my phone), which is one of my biggest time leak.
Do you guys have any tips that you do, or plan to do, to help you maximize your time in getting things done, when you are not on a routine schedule that forces you to be in places at certain times?
