My first official b/r challenge My first official b/r challenge

Hello everyone, my name is Brandon Jones. I'm now 31 years old; which feels old in the poker world I must admit.

I want to do a bankroll challenge on two plus two to hold myself a bit more accountable with b/r management and the discipline to complete this challenge as Ive struggled to make this dream as a successful full time player thus far. Therefore I plan to crush this challenge and move on to the next goal.

I'm starting with 1k on 6/23/19.

Bankroll rules: must have at least 20 buyins before sitting down for a cash game(if i drop 3 buyins i must drop stakes to have at least 20 buyins), 20 buyins for sit n gos, and 50 minimum for the mtts/satellites I want to play(must include rake in sngs/mtt). I understand these are on the more aggressive side of bankroll management however these are minimums so I have a rule to follow and while on the lower side i want to be more aggressive.

No time deadline, but i do have a couple goals in mind.

No limit on sites played. I will likely play almost exclusively on Global, WPN, ignition, and betonline though.

My goal while i will not focus on the results entirely, will be that i get to 10k within 3 months. Going to round and say the end of September 2019. I'm not planning on daily updates, but will do some month end updates.

- Brandon

20 buyins for SNGs will not get you through the first mildly variance ridden session.

agree it normally wouldn't at all - we are talking the lowest stakes of sngs possible on some pretty soft sites, where i do believe i have a much larger edge, aka global, etc. i understand as i actually grind up the stakes, i'll need to get considerably more conservative especially as more regs are prevalent and swings of variance will be more normal.

Could we possibly FINISH the b/r challenge right at 3 weeks in??!

still near 3300 b/r at the moment. and while we missed a few opportunities this week in some mtt's to really push the goal past the halfway mark, we are happy with progress thus far with time to go.

also some decent news is we won a freeroll supersatty into the $215 satty for the ACR Venom (if you follow that) i can't really recommend this site overall, but a $215 for free is pretty sweet. It's a qualifier to the $2650 Venom -5 mil guaranteed with 1mil guaranteed UT.

Kind of insane to think about -not going to focus on this yet, but let's dream big and make some money either way!

The over optimistic attitude has faded. We had an early double in the venom $215 satty but ended up busting midway thru. Also I find it interesting that a took a few shots on a couple $109’s on global and and here we are at now $2456 for the roll. And almost 1k loss from last Update. We took some shots we shouldn’t have and paid for it, but still healthy in the challenge. Going to fight thru this and grind.

Should not have risking more than 2% of your BR for a single BI. With a ~3k roll 50s are decent shots but anything above is just pure gamble.

Still at 2,159. Took off about a week. Back at it. 60 days left to hit by September goal. Going to lock down and try to hit this. If we don’t by then and we’re still alive that’s fine., just trying to hit the personal goal.

im still alive - i took a stake recently but now back to the grind. I've played few tournaments on my own - going to round and say were back at 2k.

learned so much in bankroll management through the stake as well as previous mistakes pointed out by you guys/gals on here so looking forward to crushing the b/r challenge soon! due to current time constraints will likely only be playing 1-2x a week.

Have you ever tried cash games? Cash games are where the money is at imo. Good luck.
