Hey PG&C,

CLIFFS/TL;DR AT BOTTOM

I've been playing NLHE for probably 2-3 years now. I started playing with friends as a way to earn virtual currency in a game. We were all fish and I learned some basic strat and was hooked.

Fast forward now, and i'm 18 y/o about to go to college. I'm super fortunate and privileged to be heading to Emory University this fall. I have a future ahead of me and I am fine with poker not being in the picture-I just want to really see my results without speculation. I'm sick of thinking I'm good, because chances are decent I'm a BE/losing player. And that is fine- I'm not looking to be a professional or anything like that. But once and for all, I will be finding out where I stand.

Usually I play Cash and MTTs but I'm going to cut out MTTs. Last night I final tabled a 10k GTD and made a reshove with a middling stack and ended up in 9th place. Standard spot and I know I made the right move but I was physically upset afterwards and I just know that emotionally I can't handle that rollercoaster. For the purposes of this goal, I will only be playing 25nl.

As of right now, I'm not trying to move up. I don't want to take shots. I want to see a graph that can either tell me if I'm a winner or not. And if I'm a huge loser, I will face that reality and treat poker for what it would be to me at that point- an somewhat expensive hobby. I will grind 100k hands on bovada 4 tabling and have my answer. Granted, I know there are swings in 100k hands but I'm mainly concerned with discipline and discovering my profititablity rather than the almost impossible task of determining my winrate.

During the summer I will probably play about 6 hours a day 4 tabling so this goal will probably take a long time. I'm trying to avoid redic 10hr sessions where I autopilot and make bad decisions.

My Rules:
I have 600$ on bovada. I will not move up or down within the timeframe of this challenge. I am not worried about going broke. If I do, it is a small price to pay for deflating my ego.

I will not play any other game besides 25nl cash, barring the freeroll tickets I have.

I will keep record of every hand, either through pokeit.co or by buying HM/PT (If latter I will also by AcePokerSolutions HUD)

I will watch one DC/RIO video a day.

I will post a graph ITT after every 5k hands

I will review big hands and post one hand in the uNL (and maybe this thread too) per day.

As of right now, I am taking a self mandated 48hr break from poker. It's wierd that I'm posting this now instead of after the break, but I just was in the mood to write this lovelI've been playing too much as of late and need a reboot. I really think that balance is way more important than I've previously considered.

Reading this back I feel as if I'm reading a thread about any other microstakes grinder who sucks and wants to win. If I can promise this thread anything, it is that I will complete my goal. If after 100k hands I am down 1$ I will smile because I will have completed my goal. Self control is everything to me, and I will not fail.

CLIFFS/TL;DR:

I had seen villian 3bet a Qxx rainbow flop with KQ and gii and figured this was a great spot to stack his Tx. Against a unknown villian I think raising is really bad but I think my read justifies my play.

Should I fold flop after the raise? I think he jams turn a lot so calling the raise is just a punt

If he checks ott, is jamming mandatory? nothing else makes sense to me.

Yay upswing. I enjoy running hotter than the sun. It does worry me a lil that my graph seems to oscillate up and down instead of going straight up but I cannot complain with the past 1k hands. Hopefully it continues! Going to bed now, hoping to hit the 10k mark tomorrow.
