I will reopen the blog. Went thru some very rough times last few weeks.

Played basically 0 poker apart from the last few days. Felt very rusty after not playing for several weeks but the games seem incredibly soft. 100z looks more like 10z with all the recs. I will try to stick to my routine which I followed from the beginning of the blog, but this will not be an easy task considering my real life events over the last few weeks. My mental state currently isn´t the best and might affect also how I play. We will see I guess.

Will post my YTD results later in the day since there is no point in updating the blog with April results. Hope everyone is safe and healthy.

Ty mate .

Since I barely played 10k hands since 20th March I haven´t any interesting poker related to post apart from my YTD results. Actually I was doing quite well volume wise until March. Results look good, but the sample size is way too small to draw any conclusions. Hope to get in good mental state for May and not get hit by negative variance. 100z pool looks incredible due to lockdown in most countries.

Btw guys I got forced to update my stars client to the newest version. Now I can´t see how many tables players are playing at zoom. Any workaround to see how many entries somebody has at zoom?

May 2020 Goals

Poker Goals:

[] Play 40k+ hands. Should be doable since I will have a bit more time off from work.

[] Off-table work for 10h+. Study BTN vs CO 3bp aggregated report and analyze in depth turn/river play in GTO+ for most frequent boards.

[] Check results/stats in PT4 just once a week (sundays)

[] Mark interesting hands while playing and update blog once a week (sundays)

Fitness Goals:

[] Start slowly running again. Will not force myself here by setting a specific goal after basically not doing any physical activity for almost 6 weeks.

GL to everyone in may!

Week 18 Update:

May started fine poker wise. Satisfied with volume. Running above EV is always welcome ofc. Games seem great. 100z pool is huge with sometimes more than 300 entries. I see a lot of new regs in the pool as well. A bit annoying is that the new stars client has removed the possibility to check how many entries players are playing.

H4) why is the sizing so small? Seems like mandatory to call him any 2 here?

Thanks my friend. Hope the grind is treating you well. Not sure about which street you are talking? OTF my sizing is pretty standard. OTT it depends if you use a strategy for 2 or 3 streets. OTR he still needs to be good >25% of time, so he can't just call any 2 cards. Especially not at that river card where a lot of my bluffs get there.

Week 19 Update:

Productive week off and on table. Studied for significant hours by reviewing some marked hands in GTO+ and watching some RIO videos. Made an elite RIO subscription for this month, but have to say that the value is getting worse from year to year. There are basically no new series about concepts/theory and most of the coaches make just live play videos. This is pretty annoying since they have that many coaches and imo there is no point that everyone of them makes live play videos. Some guys like Erazer even don´t get any feedback (which shows how many ppl are watching his vids) on their videos since months/years but are still making regularly content.

However, I am satisfied with this weeks volume and quality of play. Made some call downs which might be avoided. But in general played solid for the most part.

Hit also the 100k hands mark for this year. A bit behind the yearly volume goal, but lets hope that the next 100k hands will be smooth as this one.

A good question. The zoom pools look currently very good due to corona crisis. I could take a small shot (4 BI´s) at 200z, but I am not a big fan of these small shots. I am very bad at moving down in stakes, so I try to have something around 10 BI´s for a shot.

Another thing which I need to resolve is if I want to play 200z or reg tables when my BR allows this. Imo the reg tables are way softer and I am pretty sure that I am on different networks than stars profitable at NL200. But when we look at 200z on stars I think it is the first big jump in stakes. You will see a lot of professionals which can make a solid living from playing poker. Considering this and my limited time due to my full time job, I am not sure if I am (or can be ) +EV at 200z. However, I love to play zoom mainly because it allows me to put in decent volume and balance it with my job and private life. I will probably take a shot (maybe even few) at 200z and re-evaluate if I can compete on this level. If not, I will switch to reg tables. Maybe even a mix between them makes sense because it would allow me to game select. But I am unsure what is the right way for me at this point.

Very nice results so far! Take your time with moving up. The jump between 100zoom and 200zoom is huge. You can see this by the fact that a 100zoom regular did not move up from 100zoom to 200zoom quite in a while. Most just get destroyed by the GTO machines.

I wouldn't go so far and say that the 100z regs get destroyed, but it is for sure a way tougher pool. Nowadays it seems ok because 500z is running with a reasonable reg:rec ratio and the best 200z regs are playing 500z.

Also what is the most important thing is the reg:ratio and not if the 200z regs are way compententer than regs on 100z (they definitely are).
