I am a pro musician in my mid 50's. Played 35 years as a pro. Been on TV 100's of times, done film, TV and advertizing music. Have a recording studio. Was a big shot on the scene from around mid 8ß's to mid 90's. Made loads of $s and did loads of drugs and drank more in an average year than most people drink in a decade. I am still alive and relatively healthy (I know, it aint fair), but all that money got lost on the way.....

I was in a steady band for a long time and it ended last year. Was a ****ty band anyway, but it paid the bills. I am now starting over, and a middle aged musician, albeit a talented one, still has a hard time breaking back in. (Bald as well, that dont help situations..lol)

I have played poker for a bit more than 3 years. Got serious last year, when it became obvious that I was eventually gonna have to deck my bandleader or leave the band. I now play uL 6 max. I played maybe 200K hands MTT and STT, but switched a year ago. I have played 250K hands, some FR but mainly 6 max. Was losing, not bad but losing. Now since about 75K am starting to steady out and the graph is trending toward an upward movement.

I have 2 coaches ATM, read more than I will list, watched vids, read here and other forums, although have not ever been real active here. DC and DTB are 2 sites I had accounts with, and am currently doing the Iron Lion at Poker Zion.

I have a BR put aside, I play mainly 10.nl, and some stabs at 25nl. I am rolled for more, but my thinking is, if I cant build the roll myself, no need to be at higher stakes.

My wife has agreed to let me play full time for a year. I started 3 months ago. If it does not work, then I look for a job.....OMG. But there has to be a realistic time frame.

So, I will post regularly, and take active part in the HH section. I currently am comfortable with up to 10 tables, but am starting to reduce them to 4 sometimes, to get my thinking in situations sorted. I make bad equity decisions - among others - and guess it is from too many tables. I play max 3-4 K hands a day, but it varies. I have kids, and I still gig when I can, so life still dictates how much I can play at times.

My goals/targets??? To build my BR and move up in stakes, and at some point make a side income. If this is not the case in a year, than thats it for poker, other than a hobby. However, I work extremely hard, and I am not an idiot.

In any case, I will make progress reports here.

Had a decent session after my post. Up 5 BI over 1000 hands. It was also helpful to have players like this one in the following hand. I should have shoved the river, but I actually expected him to put me in for the last bit. He had been doing stuff like that. He bought in 5 times and then left. The table broke up like 2 minutes later lol.

BTW, my stats are changing a bit, the 18/13 is over my entire DB.

OK, I am going to post my last 3 weeks of playing. I am somewhat less than euphoric, but this is how it looks....

I am trying to find out where I am going wrong. I think I have a skewed way of estimating my equity at the tables, and have gotten a few new pieces of software, the Ace poker drills package and leak buster. Leak buster is obvious, as I must be leaking bad. I will work with the APD, and see if that helps me. I am a but frustrated as I really felt I was playing better. Ma non showdown line is terrible so I need to do something about that asap.

Any comments on stats or any other area welcome....

OK, I cant post my screenshots. HMMMM, will have to try to describe:

42.5K hands and am down 140$ .10nl

Showdown winnings at around +520 and non SD winnings at -660.

VPIP 20,0
PFR 14.3
3bet 4.6
vs 3bet call 38.4
sqz 2.6
WTSF 28.3
W$SD 50.9
W%WSF 40.2
Agg 2.04
Agg% 28.9
Flop Agg% 34.2
Turn Agg% 23.5
River Agg% 24.0
Flop C bet 63.4
Turn Cbet 52.3

I am not sure why I cant post attachments but I cant....

Hey man, sounds like you've had a pretty awesome life so far!

About the stats, I think you should look to open more hands, obviously can't tell without seeing your actual positional stats but, I'd say open more hands from the button and co to start with.

Next, I think you should be getting your 3bet up a little more, maybe watch some vids about 3betting or read some COTW's about it.

You go to showdown a little too much, even though your W$SD is good, I think it's a result of quite low turn and river Agg%'s, I would say you're a little too cally when you aren't the PFR, 'cause your cbet stats look solid, even though I cbet a lot more myself, but that's just a game style thing. But yeah, your overall Agg Factor is on the low side as well.

As for attachments just use a hosting site like imageshack to upload them first and then copy paste the link here

Thanks man. I was feeling kinda lonely ITT lol.

Life has been fun, but its been a roller coaster at times. Still, no regrets and all that. And I have an awesome family now.

I appreciate the comments. Yea I am looking at the COTW's, and I just got leak buster, it also did a big point to my 3 bets. (among other things). All your comments are pretty spot on. The last couple of months I have really gotten into deep review and am trying to work on specific spots instead of trying to do all at once. 3 betting is actually my focus this week. I also want to look at dealing with aggressive regs, as they are the cause of my biggest trouble spots.

I will google imageshack and put links up when I do my next stat update, in a week or so. I will put my graph, my basic stats and position. I am hoping to get a lot of feedback, I can sure use some thoughts from other players.

Thanks for taking the time!!

Interested in how things are coming along. What's the latest since I haven't seen an update on PZ or CC.

SO I want to update here, been a while since I have been active ITT.

I am trying to do some fundamental changes in how I play. Example: I will no longer play more than 6 tables - been doing up to 15, altho 10-12 was the norm - and maybe even less than 4. I just dont have my decision making good enough yet, and I realize that.

I am using leak buster to spot leaks. Problems with a few things, and I see that I dont have time to think situations through, so I will play less tables and work on making plans pre flop and adjusting to flop textures and player types and so on.

I have been working on a few things I got from the videos that come with leak buster, and the sessions have been improving. Probably the combination of less tables and more concentrating on where my weaknesses are bad will help.

Sounds like you're going in the right direction man, keep it up.

Yeah, until you're getting the most value out of every hand, it's fruitless to play mass tables. You have to learn those fundamentals first, then you can play like a robot.
