I've got a Q for you:

If you were a young MTT player, would you take a full staking deal with A+ coaching (long term 10k MTTs) or would you take your bankroll and climb the stakes yourself?

I'm having a tough choice, and I'm not sure if I should go with the coaching and the stable (although I'm rolled for $11-22's, they'd start me at the $11's).

I'd be more focused on the coaching rather than the bankroll needed.

Couple tips from an old timer like me.

What I figured out last few years:

Basically today you can figure yourself out almost everything(because the advanced programs), BUT it's extremely tough because no one knows everything. Try to find people who are interested in learning the game and improving. Build a great group around poker and you will all go forward, not just you and the best thing is, you will have buddies to cheer for when they win or when you win, they will cheer for you. I think having a great group around you will be a HUGE benefit for you. I only realized the thing this year and that's what I am working on now. Trying to create contacts and find people who are as dedicated on poker.

Learning:

If you make even $20-$30k a year from poker, I don't see a big point in getting a staking deal, If you can afford to have a poker coach or buy coaching packages, like the Petrangelo Upswing one or BenCB. They only cost you around $500-1000, which is not that much, when you compare how much you pay for staking. You can find even some community within Upswing/Raiseyouredge groups, so there's that. You don't need staking group to find people who want to learn more about the game!

Learn how to use the programs:

PioSOLVER, MonkerSolver, PokerSnowie, ICMizer etc.

This will make you a great player. Learning to use these tools to your best abilities will make you a great player.

If you need a coach, this guy helped me a lot and he is very positive and helpful:

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...01/index4.html

He won't cost you a fortune and you will improve a lot. He can take you to next level. Remember, there's no limit where you can go, but people will tell you "it's fine here, stay here.." Don't listen to them. If someone tells you that, go find new people and move on to bigger things!

All in all, I think staking is not good. I think you can find, especially today for a reasonable price very good coaching and coaching packages, which will take you just as far as a good coach(who take 50% of your profits..). If you learn to use the programs well, you will even make some findings your coach hasn't made yet. These programs are very powerful.

I wouldn't take a staking deal. I would grind my ass off and build a roll and then start taking shots with a certain part of my bankroll. Let's say 10%.. Whenever you have that 10% you take a shot, again again and again. At some point, you will make it and then you will playing higher stakes. Then again repeat.

28.11.2018 - Fasting continues, 48 hours done

Damn, 48 hours done. I haven't eaten for 48 hours. ****. I feel pretty decent, though. It doesn't affect my life that much, at the end. I did try to play poker yesterday and it did affect my playing because I almost got dizzy playing 12 tables, so I end up just quitting the session. I guess I will just use the rest of the month to lose the weight, study and teach poker, so I'm fine with taking a break from playing for a few days. Otherwise, I feel good and I can do the daily things like usual, but I don't go to the gym or do excess walking every day to use my energy better and feel good.

My weight has dropped quite a bit in 48 hours and now I am around 101kg, so pretty good results in 48 hours. I wish this could be over in the next 72 hours! Let's dooo this!

29.11.2018 - Fasting, weight bet, and the next challenge

First of all, wow. The weight is coming off extremely fast, but I still feel like It's super slow. Today my weight was 99,4kg and I'm so close to finishing off this challenge, but it ain't easy. I feel I'm a little bit done with the weight challenge and I want to move on to the next one! I am always excited to start the next challenge, but this one is starting to bother my mind for sure. I'm happy at the end I went to extremes to push myself and make it because I feel extremely good. Let's ****ing do this!!

The next challenge: Poker!

The next challenge will be something related to poker, so that should be interesting. It will be unhealthy from the health perspective, but very interesting from the poker side of things. I hope the next challenge will be a great thing to rail and follow every day for 30 days, so looking forward to that one! I will try to come up with more content during that time, so there will be more than just results etc. Probably VLOGs, so you can see the real situation behind, not just results daily.

30.11.2018 - Changes to blog, November results

Hello guys, first I want to talk about the changes I will be making to this blog or additional content. I will be making in the near future, small coaching videos, VLOGs, maybe some interviews with poker players(podcasts), midweek rambling(more general talk about poker about various topics), Friday maybe more personal VLOG about how my week went and stuff like that. Any other suggestions you would like to read/watch about? In the near future, I will be starting the new challenge as well, so I will be updating about that daily.

Results for November

As you can see from lower, November started amazing and I was really pushing it to make it a great month, but in the end, I didn't run too well and the month ended kinda badly. I'm pretty happy about it, though. I had some good chances to have big scores again and that's all what matters. Put yourself in a good position enough times and the scores will come! I think that's something I have realized lately as well, that at the end tournaments are all about getting yourself into a good position to win big and sometimes it happens, most of the time not. Be happy when you have a deep run and not sad about it. (Like I used to be).

The overall month was amazing because I am about to finish the weight challenge, I studied my ass off and learned a lot of new things. I also got a couple new poker coaches, which has given me new things to try and advance my game. Things are looking really good and I'm very excited for the next month and new year!

Results for November

I will let know soon who won the free coaching. Not sure if I will give 5 hours to same person or maybe 2,5 hours to two person.

3.12.2018 - Living at the same time as others

Hah, Sometimes I wish I could wake up 5 am and live like the others, but then I go shopping 18:00 or to a restaurant, movies, public transportation etc and think: Damn, I'm lucky I don't have to go anywhere around these times. There are so many people everywhere and shops are full of people, so much waiting etc. A regular day I'm shopping around 10:00, which is a very calm time, I go get a haircut, no line, I go to a restaurant, no line etc. It's a pretty sweet life from that perspective.

Why I wish I could wake up 5 am? I guess because I feel more productive. I love the feeling when I have woken up 4 am for example and by the time it's midday, I have already done the days work. It feels incredible. It feels like day lasts so long and you achieve so many things. It's a great feeling. From that perspective, I would always like to wake up at 4 am, because it feels the best and my body probably works the best with this time.

Remember: There are always two sides to everything, even If you think something is much better, in reality, it's probably not.

In ideal World I would wake up 4 am, but I'm not sure how much I would actually enjoy it. It would have its benefits and downsides.

5.12.2018 - a Train trip to Ostrava and next few weeks plan

All right, Christmas travel starts with Train trip to Ostrava, then one week there and train trip to Prague, then from there Flight to Finland and after a few weeks, back to Budapest, so pretty hectic times coming from travel point a view. It will be great, though. Seeing old friends, my GF's parents etc. It will be great. At the same time, I'll be working on a website and making videos because I have a good time to work on those and I can't play too much poker in Czech, because the online poker laws there, so I can focus 100% working on my website etc. Should be a good one!

6.12.2018 - Realisation, change my game

Okay, today I was checking my PT4 stats and I noticed something interesting. I'm not crushing as much as possible with deeper stacks. My strategy seems to work very well with shortstacks but when it comes to deep stack (70bb+) I think I need to make some adjustments. I certainly know I have few weaknesses. Spewwing with a big stack(lack of patience) and then maybe applying strategies which work well at the end of the tournament vs early stages. I think your bluffs are way more likely to be called early than late. There's just not scare factor and people have no problem calling 50bb from their 200bb stack. It's easy to call when it's not your tournament life in question.

Thanks to fellow poker player I will make a change and study a bit more deep stack play and focus on crushing it as well. Of course my main focus will be still shorter stacks because that's the most important for MTTS. I play maybe 25% of my hands deep stacked so playing super well 200bb is not exactly something I want to use huge amount of time but If I can plug few obvious leaks here and there I assume it will make huge difference!

9.12.2018 - Quality work vs Quantity

Funny topic. Both have its good side. I would say higher stakes its way more important to focus on quality than quantity because even beating the games takes some effort and skill. Lower stakes you can focus on building quantity and volume, so you can build a bigger bankroll faster.

I've been thinking about this topic last few days and I came to conclusion, that I should play around 4 days a week and focus on playing 4 days as well as I can. I think when I try to go over 5 days a week, my game starts to get a bit out of hand and I might have some focus trouble, but 4 days seems to quite optimal as long as you are playing long sessions. I believe we can be just as effective with 4 days as we are with 5 days, but then on the fifth day, I can use the time better on other things and "reload" my motivation for playing. For example, my schedule could look like:

Schedule example:

Monday: DAY OFF (100% day off, no computer etc. Recover from the weekend)
Tuesday: Build a website, write blog posts, answer emails, skype meetings, creating content and coachings etc.
Wednesday: Gameday, morning studying
Thursday: DAY OFF (Coaching, maybe some other small things, creative work, think about what to do etc.)
Friday: Gameday, morning studying
Saturday: Gameday, morning studying
Sunday: Gameday

I like to focus on weekends because that's when we have the most value at tables.

Another thing I would like to try in the future is "workcation", so holiday mixed with working. It's something I want to try. Explore the city at day, see some new places and then work evenings. It sounds fun and It could work for a week and it doesn't have to add ****loads of expenses for a week, because you can work at the same time. Living in Central Europe gives us great opportunity to travel cheap and explore a lot of different countries, for example, Train from Budapest to Slovenia would be 10€. That's something we should certainly take the advantage of.

10.12.2018 - E-sports, Slush and poker as an entertainment

I was reading about Slush(event about start-ups etc) and I was thinking I should visit more different things and see what's out there. I never visited E-sports event either, So that's something I would like to see. How they make these events happen and how is the atmosphere. It's something I would like to see with Poker as well. We need to build it bigger thing what it is right now. Poker needs bigger audience, So seeing what's possible would be very interesting.

11.12.2018 - Trip to Prague

All right, I've been few days in Ostrava, so now time to leave to Prague. I used to live in Prague for a total of 3 years and I have great memories from my time there. Absolutely love the place!

Couple tips for Prague, If you ever visit. Of course, hit the usual tourist attractions, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square etc etc, but few restaurants/bar you want to try:

Tips for Prague:

1. Visit Yami Sushi, so good. The best sushi I ever had.
2. Dish, Burger restaurant, great stuff, the best burger in Prague.
3. Harleys BAR, If you like Rock music and drinking alcohol this is the right place. Harleys was always my favorite bar. Crazy place!
4. Brasileiro, very close to Old Town Square, so on the way there you can visit this awesome Brazilian restaurant for MEAT. Great place to have a beer, eat loads of meat.

13.12.2018 - Make your dreams come true and stay motivated for 2019!

I've been thinking about my goals a lot for the 2019. How can I be the most motivated? I think making my dreams come true motivates me the most! When im strugglint with motivation, which seems to happen few times a year, I study my goals for the year and this year I decided to list few things I would like to achieve and which would make me feel very proud of myself. I don't like money outcome goals anymore. They are too unstable first of all and even if you make it, you will probably feel empty inside. Money is money. It's nice to earn money but when you have enough for daily life, it's tough to push yourself more if you only see it as a money. I like to find the motivation from different sources.

Here's my list (top5 things I want to achieve/do in 2019)

1. Create passive income source (no stocks)
2. Travel to few new countries, example Slovenia and Croatia.
3. Create the most inspirational blog in 2+2 , give back to community, which has given me a lot.
4. Create my first coaching package and get my coaching site rolling!
5. Keep working on mý fitness and weight 90kg at the end of 2019!
What are your dreams and goals for 2019?

I was earlier criticizing live poker, but I love to watch SHRB, its great entertainment and fun to watch the best players playing vs each other. I don't use PokerGo too often, I wish they had more high rollers in their schedule. I would be more tempted to watch more.

Highly recommend to watch, If you like to watch the worlds best players going at it live.

19.12.2018 - High energy vs Low Energy

I was trying to write something on Word (evening time) and noticed I'm not capable of writing anything good. I feel like my brain is lacking, not working optimally. I guess I figured out its the best to do the most important things in the morning, creative job, studying etc. You will learn so much more when you focus on your important things in the morning when your brain is ready to work and with a lot of energy. In the evening I'm just happy to survive and any hard work is not going to produce that great results, especially creativity and learning suffer when you're tired.

Aim to use your high energy in the morning and leave the low-intensity(head work) work to later evening. You can do dishes or something in the evening (if you have a free day), just leave those easy things you can do on automat to evening, instead of doing them with your high energy.

28.12.2018 - December time of slowing down

December is time for me to slow down, enjoy the company of my family and friends. It's time to reload and think about how my year went and what I could do different or better. I believe its very important to stop and think. If you move all the time, you don't have any idea to think about what you are doing and after few months, you might realize, "what the hell I've been doing with all this time?" Hah. It happens. Always allow yourself time to think, through the year. It can be one hour without doing anything or reading a book. I feel like reading books always gives me great ideas.

Few things to think about:

Think about what you achieved in 2018 (mental note/celebration)
Think about what you improved in 2018
Think about what you need to improve in 2019
Think about what you would like to improve in 2019
Think about what goals you will set for yourself for 2019

It's been a while since I played my last session, so I took it easy and played maximum 9 tables. Good results, because one God run. It's good to be back and playing again. One month break was a bit too much, but I had time to focus on other things (Seeing friends, family and making plan.)
