Wednesday went pretty well:

Really annoying to bustout in the Big $55 where i lose 2x overpair<underpairs in the space of about 5 minutes to hit the rail. Did however ft and finish 4th in the $11 cubed. My bust hand was pretty bad, I thought it was marginal but after discussion realised its just burning money. Really frustrating although semi nice to have the reality checks to know I'm no where near where I want to be and have to just keep on working to get there.

Thursday did another bit of reviewing of the Sunday Mill where we saw my 5b cram with KJo which raised some eyebrows, especially when we won on a runout of A10538 or something similar. Realised I should probs avoid high variance lines in the biggest MTT of the week.

Managed to put in some grind time after:

4 handed in the €75 started getting wrecked by a guy who punished every limp i made BVB and punished every raise I made BVB. managed to adjust somewhat, then didn't play ideally HU although result was inevitable as I ran two pair into a set.

Also got 14th in the Hurricane on 888, an annoying AJ<A5 for a 35bb pot saw me out through the door.

Grinding again today before day off tomorrow before Sunday/Monday. Had a really good start to the month with 5x 4 fig cashes in as many days.

Had a really nice time along the southcoast, hit up Southampton, then Brighton, then Bournemouth on our final day. Mainly spent the time shopping and eating some incredible food, Brighton's restaurants are the one

Played Sunday, unfortunately didn't get anything goping. As good as bubbled the Warmup and Big $75 getting KK in pre both times, mincashed the Hurricane then 40 something in the megadeep where I get KQhh in on 10h9s7h vs QJss and do not do the win.

Back at it today then review tomorrow after a trip to the hospital for my gf's physio work after breaking her finger

Grinded on monday:

on Mon/Sun had a lot of spots where I was jamming bottom of my range and getting snapped, or calling jams from bottom of my range and they just had it in every spot. Kinda hard not to doubt ranges in such situations where one hand lower = fold, quite demoralising but I'm pretty sure it's standard.

Had a nice review, still looking at the SM. Butchered one hand where I 3b a spot with the nuts but took some really good value lines based on sizing and opponents range which felt encouraging.

Some big results yesterday:

in the 22 12k had huge CL throughout, then had a sick QQ<99 pre 4 handed for like all the chips in play.

Also left off the list is the 888 Tornado where I came 8th for a bowl, but also finished 2nd in the 888 HR Challenge for $5,400! Pretty big midweek score

Grinding through to Saturday (unsure about a day off on Friday), but Sat I'm part of a poker team/community so to speak called Blue Blood Poker. About 50 of us ranging from amateurs new to the game to full time players, having a get together and piss up at the 25/25 series (£250 £25k) which should be a fun event, also running a bit of training based on late game and short stack theory

Wednesday results:

4th in the Big $75 which was a really encouraging score, 5 cubed was annoying as I leaned for chunks but couldn't get it through vs the nuts.

Eventually reviewed the final table of the Sunday Million on Thursday pre grind where there were loaaaaaaaaads of super marginal spots but seemed to choose the optimal decision the majority of the time. Also went through a deep run from €urop€an which was really interesting which opened my eyes to some spots. Snap grinded after:

Profit on the day due to the 4th place finished still a little annoyed at the FT where I pulled of a raise which I thought should work if he considers my range, sadly he didn't and was kinda unnecessary.

Today went flat hunting in Birmingham before starting a little late, found two cashes but both managed to be FT's. 6th for $600 in the Party $100 10k but somehow binked 2nd in the Monsoon on 888, the biggest myth going for $3.5k. Made a couple of dubious calls on final which I'm not in love with but heatered my way to HU.

Having an incredible month so far, hopefully it continues for the final week of March

Not given an update for quite a while, had an incred time playing the liveament in Coventry. Unfortunately busted pretty early (Q high flush draw vs 9 high flush draw, seeya) but there were plenty of people I hadn't met in the flesh who were all a top laugh.

Been a busy week in terms of 3 reviews (tues, weds, thurs) and playing every day since sunday with not the greatest results:

5th in the 75 5k for €450;
7th in Tornado for $430;
6th in the Crocodile for $1,300.

Other than that it's been a bunch of semis. Been flat hunting a fair bit recently, still yet to find the ideal place but there's no rush to sort that out.

Feel like I'm playing pretty well, picking up on some leaks of a fair few regs which definitely helps me feel more comfortable with my game. Had my first coaching session midweek also where we are able to pick up a couple of areas for improvement (also a reg in a fair few of my games). I feel like coaching and such should improve my game as I question more spots.

Month in Review: Marvellous March

After my biggest month ever in February, I managed to follow it up with a really solid March:

Hit over 650 games which I'm really happy about considering I took a 4 day holiday as well as missing a couple of days. Biggest scores were st in the $16.50 turbo ($3.8k), 2nd in the Tuesday HR ($5.4k) and 2nd in the Monsoon ($3k).

Year to date:

Took Sunday/Monday off as I was flat searching, but finally found a place in the middle of Birmingham on the canal which looks perfect and has now been taken off the market for us. Being deemed "unemployed" always raises questions in such circumstances so imagine I may have to take a day off or two for all the paperwork as well as any furniture shopping before moving across.

My game feels really focussed at the moment and whenever I look through hand histories am able to justify every decision I make, think I have finally took the auto pilot aspect out of my game. won the 888 Tornado last night for $2.7k, a nice start to the month. I continue to pick up plenty of new concepts in reviews which are being done twice or three times a week, really enjoying my time both on and off the tables.

Grinded Thursday and Friday, bricked thurs but ended up finishing 2nd in the 22 cubed on Stars Friday for $2.7k. Lost heads up to Samuel "buckguy2200" Phillips, recent 2nd place finish in Barcelona EPT Main for over a milly euros, chatted a bit and seemed super friendly and nice (although it's common practice to keep the fish happy ).

Took Saturday off and went shopping for items for the new flat, thought my day was gonna be brightened with Ikea meatballs but didn't even make it into that shop ffs.

Pads gave the usual rally the troops speech which inspired me to keep Facebook and Skype off whilst grinding 6 tables +. Limited myself to about 10 tables all session, drank plenty of water and it felt really beneficial. Started at 3pm, ended up grinding the 888 Mega Deep until 8am finding a 2nd place finish for $23k. Really fun night with a couple of other guys finding deep runs including a Bigger $22 win and a Big $55 FT, feels like the stable is crushing at the moment.

Going to try and avoid FB/Skype whilst grinding probably on tuesdays/thursdays/sundays to begin with then try and gradually make it the norm for every session each day, really difficult to snap quit it from having skype on in the background every single day.

Grinded Mon-Weds:

FT of the Big 109 was fun, had jaimestaples there who had chunks and in all fairness crushed it, obviously his twitch was hyping so managed to have some fun with his viewers (e.g. him saying he charges $100/hr, so said in the chatbox I charge $99/hr). Came 6th, incred day for Staples as he locks up sponsorship or whatever it is with Stars and snap ships the 109.

Managed to avoid Skype for the most part (with the exception of having to get money transfers, speak to friends urgently etc.) and completely avoid Facebook whilst my tables are at peak time. Feels refreshing and feels like a much more focussed effort.

Also really pleased to have moved up to 265th in the PocketFives rankings, since hitting the top #500 my aim has been to fight into the top 250 so hopefully if I keep heatering this week we can get there.

Wanted to post before now but been maaaaaad busy with the move in. Finally move in properly tomorrow with internet hopefully sorted by Friday morning. Today/yesterday/tomorrow consists of get up at 10am, buy stuff for flat and take it to new flat, get back 3pm, snap jump onto skype for coaching or whatevs, finish then snap jump into a session, staying up till like 4am then rinse/repeat.

Had some rly interesting results., Sunday was a car crash though because of internet failing along with Stars issues so had to stop regging 3 hours in, really tilting.

Over past week I've:
FT'd Big $109 x2 (9th & 6th);
FT Big $55 (4th);
FT bubble B75 & FT bubble B22 (both came on the same day).

Also today shipped the €75 5k on ipoker for €1,800, after grabbing 2nd in it on Friday.

Also if you have read pads blog then you would have noticed I am becoming the head coach for the groups low/micro stable! Really excited about this prospect as its something I've always had a vision of getting into, this being a perfect set up for that with my current coaches putting a lot of interest into for which I am eternally grateful for as I feel they have opened so many doors for me, thankfully I've been able to repay them with a lot of heat along with a solid amount of hard work.

Timing is pretty ideal with applications opening shortly after I am back online ready to go through some of them and see which guys seem to have potential.

Been really happy recently also with the fact I've been able to close Skype/facebook and just ignore it for the entire session, at least until i have a few tables left with sweats developing. Feels like it helps loads and has helped me pick up a bunch of really marginal spots where I'd usually snap muck but been able to think through hands more in spots where I can successfully bluff catch with Ace high/weak mid pairs and such.

ty for the subs guys <3

Apologies for not really writing much, I seem to be using alot of my time up recently as there is always so much new house **** to sort as well as there being so much to do all the time in Birmingham, especially with many of my muggle friends living here.

Been grinding 5 days a week rather than 7 more recently to balance life out a bit as well as taking more time to study in order to prep for the upcoming SCOOP where I will be playing a few 1k events which I am really excited for.

April Results:

Another dreamy above EV month is nice to report, rounded it off nicely by breaking the top 20 of the UK Rankings (19th) leading to a lovely mention on UK PokerNews:

http://uk.pokernews.com/news/2015/04...no-1-17545.htm

Hopefully keep up the fight and continue to climb, feel really pleased about this as I still game select alot and don't play high at all compared to other guys, playing up to The Big $162 midweek on good days fading Tuesdays/Thursdays

clearly a point of view thing.

if u want to develop as a player and go for the higher/highest limits u need coaching/ppl to help you.

staking is just a way of improving your skills and developing a bankroll. its obvious not the end of his road

and grats sir! nice month

Thanks guys <3

Yeah I am backed and don't see any change in the near future. I get coaching from elmerixx, omyg0t, pads and european twice a week along with constant support, regular one on one sessions as well as being able to go to them any time I widh for advice or whatever.

I honestly don't see any way in which the stable and support offered can be strengthened and believe everything I get is worth every penny I've paid back to them so far.

A huge part of it for me, as well as the support and such is that they are able to keep me grounded and are able to judge precisely what games I am most profitable in, what I'm ready for and what I'm not ready for. I have the greatest peers around and can't even put into words how many doors the group and especially pads has opened for me, I will forever be grateful for all he has helped me with. It sounds really brown nosey but I genuinely couldn't be happier with circumstances, if I wanted to go alone I could do so but I still have a vast amount to learn

fwiw pads took me on and bought my makeup from previous backers whilst I was in the middle of my biggest ever downswing (500BI). That helped me install self confidence back into myself, that period of time was the most I have ever learnt about myself, my desire and determination. I certainly wouldn't go back and change having to live on £10 a week for 6 months, I wouldn't have luckboxed my way to where I am without it

Not been able to post for a while unfortunately due to every single day being so ridic busy with all the SCOOP build up. Pre Sunday I did 2+ hours every single day for a week and a half making sure I was fully prepared for this schedule.

Yet to cash any SCOOP event but saved sunday with 8th in the 888 Mega Deep, 3rd FT of that in 6 weeks. Really annoying as I went in to FT 1/9 then got raped to bust 8th at 6am, knowing I had to be up at 10am to go into town for a meeting with the bank, Hadn't felt so crushed in a loooooong time.

Didn't have Super Tues in my sched today but will be starting the bigger ones tomorrow with the $700 Ante Up, a format I've always loved. Looking forward to the Thrill on Thurs also, with others along the way before the ME including next weeks Super Tues.

The month has treated me pretty wll and has as good as covered the shots I'm taking which I'm happy about, feels like there is less pressure on finding results in the big ones I do grind.
