Hi.

First of all, I've been playing poker for a year or so - until now strictly cash games as I've always played on Partypoker where there are not really that many tournaments to grind.

3 or 4 days ago I started with a $500 roll, spread across FTP and Stars in order to grind MTTs. I will be playing mostly $1-$4 tournaments, but there are some (about 3 or 4) $5 and $6 tournaments spread across the day (most notably the early doubles, of course).

I've been a lurker on here for quite some time, but I never felt obligated to write something. But this thread will help me keep my tilting in check - I'm the kind of player who burns his bankroll at 5/10 after running bad for a few days. Maybe, if I make it to the higher levels, this thread will also be a nostalgic reminder of how I started out.

tl;dr: fish tries to get good at mtts. Here are my opr links:

FTP http://www.officialpokerrankings.com...30BD3.html?t=2

Stars: http://www.officialpokerrankings.com...9768B.html?t=2

I will update this thread daily with roll standing reports and reports on major cashes or even wins.

I've already had a final table two days ago in the $1 2.5k gtd 6max tournament, I got in 3rd for $300.

My current roll stands at $526, so I'm barely able to keep my head above the water. I myself am looking forward to another final table, wish me luck!

OK. Bankroll now $75 on Full Tilt, $350 on Stars as well as €110 on Stars too.

Day was OK I guess, played about 15-20 tournaments I think and final tabled a €2.25 tournament (which had 500 players), but went out on a ******ed hand in 3rd place for 100 (1st was €190) (don't have HH on this laptop so I'm writing this off of my mind).

3 players left, I'm in the SB with about 450k chips, villain was in BB with about 500k chips, there was also that other dude with 700k but he wasn't in the hand.

I get 49o and raised to 30k (blinds were 6k 12k) in order to steal. Villain hasn't been defending much and it seemed like an easy steal. villain was also very aggressive postflop, bluffraising and donkbetting and then folding to resistance numerous times on the final table.

so I raise 49o to 30k and villain calls. flop comes 29Q two couloured, and I check, planning to call down most bets from him. of course he bets 36k into the about 90k pot, so I call. the turn is the 4 of some random colour, so his potential flush draw didn't hit and I made two pair. the pot is now about 160k, but now villain puts in 110k, which is much more than his usual betting size when bluffing (which is always in the 1/3-1/2 pot range), so his range is probably mostly Qx trying to get value from FDs and possibly worse hands. I think for a little while and ship, villain snapcalls with Q7 and the river is another Q, giving him trips and busting me in 3rd place.

Oh well, stuff like that happens I guess.

Grats on the Final Table. That certainly has to help the BR.

Enjoy them where you can get them, you'll take one down sooner or later.

meh. total roll $419 after today. just bubbled the final table of a 2.20 6max turbo with about 4k players. shipped on the button with AT and about 12BBs (since big blind was restealing very often). of course he wakes up with KK and I can't suck out. the dude is going to ship the tournament 100%, has been running really hot, getting big pairs and AJ-AK every third hand (literally).

this really hurts. it would've been 1.2k for first and it seems like I'm not going to pull this off again so soon in such a huge field.

I've been running like **** the past few days and what I did seemed like a big mistake that turned out positive for me lol.

I was down to $200 by playing normal poker in the $1-$4 tourney range. Constantly going out in the first hour or so (not even close to bubbling) because I failed to dodge the minefield with my hands.

So I said to myself "screw it, I'm gonna play the $11 40k and $55 90k and ship both". Well, I would've been down to 140 after that but gladly I mincashed the $55 and I'm still in the $11 with like 80 people left and a little less than average stack (about 20bb). GL ME!

Haven't updated this thread in a while since I was too lazy and was running bad so there wasn't anything worthwhile to be mentioned.

Two days ago I bubbled the FT of a 6max tournament which was about $600 for first. Meh. Roll is at about $230 overall, but I'm still positive that I'm going to ship something very soon.

I'm currently playing a $3.30 6max 4k guaranteed and I'm currently chipleader with about 30 people left. 1.2k for first. gl me!

Thank you too! I really needed that to boost my confidence. I decided to abuse my good run and put in another session. I'm running pretty well (playing about 8 tournaments or something), but I'm about to fall out of the chair, lol (it's 4:25am here)
