Played 3-hr session... lost 5 dollars lol

Had a few triple barrels that were good where villains tank/called basically bottom of their range otr where they probably shouldn't have and then I lost a couple spots where I had high EV... so ran below EV again.

Was a pretty dece session overall, but can't help but feel sad as I'm now approaching 50 BI under EV lifetime. (250k hands)

06-09-2015 , 01:28 AM
Played at a home game, 50c 50c 5-handed.

Was down 80$ pretty quick but ended up coming back to be up $7.50

Deciding hand of the night:

Guy in MP opens $2
CO folds
I'm in BTN w/ 77 and flat
short stack in SB folds
BB flats

Flop A87

MP c-bets for $4
Hero in BTN raises to $12
BB snap folds
MP re-raises up to $28
Hero ships for around $70 total
MP calls

MP turns over A8 and hero holds!

Here's some random recent HH

This hand was while at my brother's over the weekend... Woke up hungover having gone to bed at like 6AM and got up at like 11:30AM, took a shower and stuff and then brought up just two tables of 100nl on my laptop and sat on the couch. This hand was towards the end of my lol-session. It always helps to have the nuts

Couldn't sleep so rolled out of bed and started a session around 5:30am. Started out bad being around $200 down, but wow did I make a come back. Almost everything went my way, I definitely ran above EV and I had lots of good spots and fish at my tables!

                        2.5 hrs played

hi, reviewing some hands you posted:

89hh could skip a river bluff there I guess? Looks like a close spot, might not get enough folds. Combinations wise it's a good hand to bluff.
53cc I'd not squeeze this, way too low equity hand. That is demonstrated on the flop where you flop just a bottom pair. It's tough to play. I'd check and try to get to showdown. Calling the donk shove is meh, probably expecting draws more often than one pairs from fish. With no FD out there I'd not hate a fold.
                        06-13-2015 , 12:51 PM
                        I agree with both, thanks.

In regards to the 98hh hand, I think I can get lots of folds from 10x, middling pocket pairs, and maybe other passively played draws so I think a shove is still good.

In regards to the 53cc tend to squeeze pretty liberally in this spot, almost anything remotely playable as people just don't defend even remotely enough, if I think someone is especially weak even more so, so maybe that was the case there (although probably not good enough still). As for the turn call, I must have thought he was on a draw and snapped it. Otherwise, I obviously don't call. Don't remember, but considering how he played pre/flop/turn he was probably getting way out of line in a bunch of ways.

I'd go with linear range. For example look up top 14% of hands at equilab. Figure out which hands don't play well multiway.
fish will call OOP with K5s and stuff like that, so no need to worry about RIO
vs high FT3B guys I start to add more suited connector "bluffs". vs fish they are fine too, just rather have 97s than 53s

Thing is, he had Tx and called it off, we block his middling pairs and we also block a bunch of his flush draws. It's one of the worst hands we could possibly bluff imo.

River is a good card for our range and we always lose when we check, but this has to be a give up, I think.

Well, he called off with A10, yes, but that's likely the only combo he calls down with given action pre and action OTF. The alternative is to just barrel AK always, and the point of blocking 99/88 does suck.

I only need him to fold ~50% of the time to make it profitable, with the 10 on the board he only has 12 combos of A10... Can probably toss in combos of JJ that also call down, so 18 combos of hands that call down... only need 18 combos that fold OTR and I'm fine. It's not the greatest spot in the world, but I'd say it's probably extremely close to being a jam at worst.

Yeah, of course. I get extremely carried away with my squeezes in that particular spot and when co opens and btn flats. The reason being, I've found it to be very very profitable. 53s ofc is probably still way to awful :P

Jamming 98 is fine, not blocking his Ace high + K high flush draws(both hearts + diamonds) is obvi great as those hands are 100% folding, and it represents a large portion of his river range. Ppl get too caught up w blocking x hands villain w fold when there will always be hands you are blocking (or not blocking). Also this is a board you can bluff a ton bc of all the value you will have.

Yh, my value range is JJ+ for 24 combos of value too, so should have ~equal number of bluffs otr as well.

Vs most you should have and jam at the very least ATs + ATo

I have mixed strategy preflop vs minopen w/ A10 (depends on some things). But yeah, even more value then because I'd play them the same way too.

                        Thanks for the reply.

Played about 2 hrs, thought I played okay, maybe too aggressive.

                        -$260 or so

Lost a few hands where i felt like villains were playing back at me. On one table i was 24% 3bet over 101 hands and reg in BB (100 hands at table) 3b me, i 4b, w/ JJ in btn (had isoed a fish) and he 5b and i jammed, thinking he was playing back at me but he ended up having KK so sucked and that was 300bb pot

I also bluff caught in some spots where peopel should have a lot of bluffs and ended up running into nuts... lots of my c-bets ran into raises etc. So was pretty ****ty (makes up for earlier i guess). Ran above EV tho, gii w/ AA vs huge fish on 1092ccx board and guy had 1010, turned A (3bp vs 80bb stack)

                        Played in a 25c 25c home game.

Game had originally started 10 players and had been going on for about 4.5 hours. It had died down a lot and was now 4-handed.

                        4- handed

                        CO straddles to 50c
Hero in BTN w/ 99 raises to 2.50 (everyone is pretty deep)
                        SB calls
                        BB call
                        CO folds

                        Flop 874 pot ~$8.00

                        SB checks
                        BB checks
                        Hero bets to $4.50
                        SB calls $4.50
                        BB calls $4.50

                        Turn: 9 (pot $20.50)

                        SB checks
                        BB checks
Hero bets $9.50 (hero sucks with bet sizing IRL)
SB jams for about $38.50 (hero is pretty sure this villain is jamming with some draw)
BB tanks and jams and has hero covered to about $62
Hero tanks for ****ing forever because this is such a gay spot and he's been folding all night.... and makes a call

                        SB flips over KJ
                        BB flips over 106

Everyone agrees to run it 3 times, BB wins once, SB wins twice, Hero, wins 0

GG and what a **** call by me

One of my biggest losing nights ever, lost around

                        -$800

Kept running into the nuts when I had good hands, bluffs didn't go anywhere, and when I was good I still lost.

                        GG
                        06-16-2015 , 07:37 AM
                        Played another 2.5hrs

                        -$100 ish

lots more coolers, this hand was last of my night and I just snap-quit tables

Reggish-wide player around 170bb eff w/ me opens in MP for $3
I'm in the CO and decide to flat $3 with 98 (there's a fish in BB I don't mind coming along)
Another deep stack in BTN flats (170bb eff w/ me)
                        SB folds
                        BB folds

                        Flop: Q106 (pot ~$10.50)

MP c-bets for around $8 (kind of large, but we're all deep)
                        I call
                        BTN folds

                        Turn: A pot ~$25

MP leads out for around $20
I think this is solid spot to bluff as I can easily still have 1010/A10/AQ/KJ etc.
I raise to around $59.75 ( would leave around $95 otr w/ stacks being around $140)
MP tanks 20s or so and calls

                        River: Q

                        MP donk-shoves

Hero doesn't even like this river as all night he's been only getting cards otr that put him into cooler situation

                        Hero closes eyes and calls

                        MP obviously has AA

Pretty gay spot, only hands I have better here are AQ, 1010, 55 KJ, kind of think 98 might be a fold here -.-. But whatever, made a few hero folds already tonight and still got clobbered

Normally don't post coolers, but seriously getting annoyed with my run of luck lately. I'll be moving back down to 50nl for a while.
