Heh, how quickly history is forgotten...I don’t know about y’all but I feel a few years older knowing that active posters on this forum are unaware of the ultimate bet / absolute poker scandal.

Also, this scandal is a reminder that all around the world, at all times, there are people working diligently to cheat systems that have finances attached to them. I would guess this is especially true for unregulated or gray-area businesses.

As hard as broken works on his game to beat opponents, there is someone working harder to beat ignition’s cyber security. The anon pool adds a bit of a muddiness where we are relying on an unregulated system to work in the background to identify patterns in accounts...and we have to trust its sovereignty or not play.

To be clear, I like the anon format and think it is one of the best things to happen to online poker in the last ten years. But I’m also a realist.

cheaters rely on the ignorance and stupidity of the victims to exist. They rely on them believing any dodgy hand is just a 'lol whale' when even that doesn't make sense.

Mirage, that hand is more indicative of you being a superuser than him

The question is, what would be stopping them.

this hand doesnt look like a superuser, just looks like a fish punting, well 2 fishes punting

I would guess super user (internal, easy to detect) would be far less likely than bots/collusive activity (external, depending on advancements and security infrastructure, more difficult to detect).

Remember, it is in the websites best interest to catch cheats, as they are parasites on the flow of money. But what resources they commit to this, we can only guess. The banking/credit card hacks of recent years demonstrate how ignorant/lazy even well established institutions are when it comes to reasonable protection of their customers.

Finally, even if cheating is prevalent, the games are still beatable. If there was direct evidence of bottling at iggy, I’d still play, because my winrate is still positive. If it exists, its just a different kind of rake...for the time being at least.

Exactly because everybody asks that question is the exact reason why superusers would prefer to play lower. The better players who would track it more carefully would also play at the higher limits.

Superusing 5 to 50NL makes way more sense when you think of it in that light. I have zero doubt that a combination of superusing and collusion is going on at these limits on this site.

Zero.

Okay and what do you want to do about it? There's obv collusion happening across many of the games. Not much you can even do about that. The superusing is unlikely but sure it's not 0% chance that it is. You can't do anything about any of it though so why are you wasting time thinking about it. The games are still very beatable for now. Maybe at some point that won't be the case and at that point people will need to start quitting the site. Any cheating occurring is just another form of rake which you can't do anything about and just have to take into account when deciding where to play.
