lol i have no idea if broken is a winner, but even if he is, there is no way he should play poker professionally if he has an engineer degree from any reputable college. His $$ expectation is way higher w the degree, especially in the US.

Unless he runs like jpatche for the rest of his life.. that goddamn shortsacker is like 40k above ev everymonth and if i remember right he was also that much above ev when he was a shorty on FTP
I was running hot, but I was also running very bad few months ago. Obviously I'm not a poker pro. I can't get in the required volume with my current life set up + limited to 4 tables on Bovada. However, becoming a poker pro is definitely something I could do with enough hard work and determination.

Pretty confident I'm a winner, my EV bb/100 over 200k+ hands and multiple stakes is over 7.00. I also agree that having an engineering degree and being in US is >>> trying to live off poker atm.

You can but if you are anything like me then you won't get good at poker when you do that, which might not be an issue but worth thinking about.

Dynamic with villain(s)? Or is it standard to call a jam with JJ after cold 4betting? I usually cold 4 to like 19.5bbs there and fold to a jam.

This isn't even what happened I typed it out wrong. I would flat the 3b with JJ in SB a lot.

It was co open 3x, btn flat 3x, i squeeze to 14x and bb 4bets to like 40bb and then I gii

Re: Moving Up Stakes, 2015 and beyond

Played for 2 hrs at 200nl 4-tabling, then lost a bit and took a short break and switched to 100nl where I 4-tabled 100nl for about an hour. Calling it a night. Had plans to play a lot today, but nothing was going my way. Coolered a few times. When I switched to 100nl it was cooler after cooler, sucked. Still made a few mistakes today that I'm not proud of, but even with 0 mistakes I'd be down >$500 today.

-$740 (-350 at 200nl, -390 at 100nl)

Just a tip, you shouldnt look at your BR after every session, nothing good comes from it and there is a lot of negatives that can come from doing it

I highly disagree with this, especially for someone with a PG&C thread or looking to move up. BR updates are what keep people looking at the thread. If you just say "I played good this session, made good decisions, had a couple of coolers" and left it at that, nobody would bother to check the thread out. Also, you wouldn't know when you could move up. It's good to know where your BR is at.

If you're a Stars 100nl RB pro not beating the games but playing 10 hours a day, then yeah, it's bad to look at your BR. You get discouraged by how much you're losing (which is inevitable) and start to play less and less.

EDIT: Also, if you try to be a robot and take all emotion out of the game, then you lose your edge and the game doesn't become fun anymore. It's simply human nature to look at a BR after a session.

lol firstly OP shouldnt do anything to appease his followers in PGC, his goal should be to make as much money as possible. I havent looked at my BR in approx 2 weeks, if you asked me to guess how much i am up i can prob be in the correct range +-25% (meh now that i am thinking about it, its prob closer to 50-60%), so i know generally where i am at, its not difficult. Also your logic is awful, its human nature to get upset/get mad when you lose money, does that mean tilting is fine as well? You want to avoid situations that hinder your progress, and looking at your results every session is something that is avoidable. There is no one that knowingly drops 10bi's in a session and plays their best in the next session. I will know that i am down but its much easier to put it out of your mind when you didnt just PT4 graph the session and see the line go straight down to $1445 or w/e it is.

Everybody has some form of tilt. Everybody. Some are subtle, such as calling a spot where you'd normally raise or folding a hand you'd normally defend with. Some are massive, such as going on insane monkey tilt and jumping to 1000nl. The best a person can do is limit their tilt. Michael Jordan had off games. Tom Brady has off games. The manager down at your local starbucks has off shifts. These are all tilt, just in different aspects of life. If you don't have any sort of tilt, then you are a robot and you probably won't have fun playing the game; it'll seem more like a mundane 9-5 job.

I can also say that OP didn't look at his PT4 from his last session because that's impossible to do on the site that he plays on. Also from the same site, it's impossible to not look at your BR because you have to manually top off your stack. That shows you your BR every time you do it.

I personally witnessed one of his sessions last night. I can verify that he played fine despite being down a few buy-ins. His thought process didn't change; he ran into a few really gross spots (ie, TPTK in a 3bet pot, x/r on QT4 flop, turn is a 4 and villain shows up with 42).
