Your heartrate is fine. Might be interesting to buy a blood pressure monitor and check what range you're in and then chart the changes as time goes on.

I think you'll have a much higher chance to succeed this way, instead of force-feeding yourself broccoli and salad on every meal.

Regards fishtankz the smoothie girl.
I bought some frozen fruits a while ago to try a smoothie, only made a couple but it was good/enjoyable.

Also, said it few times now, but I'm not specifically going on a diet.

My blood pressure is usually ~120/80 at my dr visits, my diastolic has been like 88 though.

Both my brother and my dad are on blood pressure medication.

To be fair, no one rreeeally has any idea when it comes to optimal lines for diet etc. The science is just too difficult. It's extremely difficult to gather data/conduct studies on nutrition/dietary systems because there's so many variables at play.

In many ways, it's a lot like poker. What was GTO ten years ago is no longer GTO. If you were a gym bro 10 years ago, it was all about drinking insane quantities of milk and mass gainer and being way, way over caloric maintenance. Now we know that's a pretty bad approach.

**** like the carnivore diet... It sounds crazy and stupid prima facie, but it would be extremely unwise to write it off just because it's so EXPLO on paper. In actuality, I've never heard a bad word about the diet. Joe Rogan said the same thing in response to Jordan Peterson in the above podcast. It's clearly changed Jordan's life and his daughter's. You need to look at the results and the results only because the science simply isn't out yet. And the results are phenomenal despite what people say wrt fibre etc.

Same goes for the snake diet. In theory it's crazy - fast for 3-7 days eating/drinking nothing but water, sodium, potassium chloride, ACV and lemon juice. It's a full frontal assault on your metabolism. It has a lot of critics because "starving yourself surely can't be good for you". But that's not science. The science isn't there yet. All we have to go off is results. And the results are nothing short of incredible, i.e. morbidly obese people losing insane quantities of weight, type two and ONE diabetes being cured, lukemia and cancer being effectively cured. Etc.

Veganism is just another highly exploitative approach to diet and has its place as well.

But to be completely honest, the best approach for Mason is the one he's already outlined. Cut out the drinking and reduce caloric intake while beginning light exercise. This is so obviously the best approach. It's important to ease yourself into drastic lifestyle changes, especially if he wants it to stick long term.

What you're planning on doing is perfectly fine and imo optimal. Remember consistency is key if you want this to stick. Look to overload as well. By that I mean, progressively increase the distance you ride on the bike, consistently decrease your caloric intake (to a point), slowly start adding to your routine (i.e. basic weight training), etc and you'll get results. Once you start seeing results, the rest is easy.

Environment? Reminds me of this post...

Environment will be ****ed whether you're a vegan or carnivore.

Again, don't **** on a diet just because it sounds bad on paper. Watch Jordan, his daughter, and other testimonials because for many people it's the GTO solution.

I eat meat, ckn. shrimp.eggs, milk, yogurt, veggies, fruit and corn flakes and i'm in v good health and low bf%
Eat that and lift weights, walk uphill ,and throw in some other stuff like heavy bag or obstacle course and you're good.
I gain and lose 10-15 lbs when bulking and cutting with little issues with this diet.
Luckily for me this is the food I prefer to eat so it's been np sticking with it.
I have some pizza once in a while and a burger now and again but honestly don't even crave junk food.
At you age if you don't do something by time you're in your 40's your health is not gonna be great and it will be 100x harder to lose the weight and get in shape.
Just do it dude and in a few years you will look back and realize this was the best decision you ever made.

Damnit Mason. See what you started? It's all your fault.

Im not vegan but I dont understand why people hate on them. Can we be honest and admit that veganims is a way more ethical way of life?
07-05-2018 , 09:52 AM
I think because lots of them are obnoxious in the way they preach their ways, I'm not 100% vegan because I still rarely consume honey but I've been in groups and some vegans were really really annoying.

Also vast majority of people don't like being told that what they enjoy eating might not be good for them, and they certainly don't want to feel guilty when enjoying a steak or whatever else piece of meat.

No. There could be a discussion around whether or not it's a more ethical way of life (but this thread isn't the place for it). But it's not automatically a more ethical way of life just because they don't eat meat.

My fiance is vegan and became vegetarian right after we started dating 7.5 years ago. I think reducing meat intake is quite important for a variety of reasons that don't include anything regarding health... that being said I don't ever plan on doing anything 100% like that...
