I was really shocked and a bit disappointed in your drunken nonchalance of missing a 25bi downswing (you said it 2 separate occasions on stream and laughed it off)
When you post stuff like this...
and get this....
and respond with this...
it’s just a bit disappointing. You could easily say “don’t take that graph seriously, honestly I dgaf about downloading hands” which, funnily enough, would be my response.
As I’ve also stated, it is very clear from your lines and out loud thinking that you have put a lot of work into the game and also seem to have some raw talent as well (you deviate huge in certain spots, but I think they are very good deviations most of the time). Anyone familiar with my posting knows I tell people to stay away from poker 90% of the time, and I basically recommend your philosophy of being a recreational. However, I would tell you to take it more seriously. You could easily clip $30-$50k in a year, but you again just laugh it off and go with the recreational excuse. You will regret not putting in more volume 2-3 years from now.
It’s just constructive criticism, I have no idea why people react so negatively to this. You are young but one day you will realize that your critics are your friends, and your fans are often your very worst feedback loop.
The 2k missing in the graph at that time wasn't due to not downloading hh it was due to winning 2k the prior day or so that I hadn't yet downloaded. At least, I think. I'd have to go back to make sure that is correct. Regardless, that graph is very translucent as to how my results have been @ 200nl. Keep in mind I've freely admitted to running well over that sample though.
With regards to coaching you are correct (that when I post graphs I need to be honest with people). Right now I'm coaching a few individuals and not one of them asked me for a graph, though. With regards to playing more seriously you are also correct.
I'm not saying you are wrong (which I feel the need to repeat again). Only that I can post graphs in my own thread. You sound like an all-or-nothing kind of guy, which is fine, but I'm not (or at least I try not to be). Emotions/work/forgetfulness all lead me to losing some hh. I also didn't get all my hh downloaded when I came back because I purged like all of Janaury in back in my database. And I reformatted my computer a month or two ago having thought I had backed up my database (which I did), but it was missing the latest 1 week of hands that I had not yet uploaded (again my mistake). I came back at end of dec 2016 (like christmas or something) and I know I started with $900. So I know what my results have been this year, at least in terms of $ made, regardless of what my graph shows.
Feel free to ask questions, correct my mistakes/poor verbiage--whatever. It doesn't bother me and 99.9% of the time I'm receptive to it.
I also appreciate everyone cheering me on--really! So, thanks for your advice and I will mull that advice over as the end of the year progresses. I told myself I would never consider going pro in poker unless I had a >10k month and after coming back in January I made nearly 12k in February right off the bat. I definitely had to think about it harder after that and I have. At the current point in time I'm still not considering going pro, but there is definitely money to be had and considering playing more is certainly something I need to be considering.
Thanks for your feedback.
