I am 21 years old and I have been playing poker for 3-4 years recreationally. I was playing on microstakes on stars and micro home games.
Some months ago I saw a poker teaching video on youtube and thought that it will be pretty nice if I could consistently win and make money from online poker. So I started to watch a lot youtube poker channels, had RIO subscription for 1 month and thought I was learning something, but actually I was just having fun watching videos and then playing without implementing anything. Didn`t have any structured plan what to study or how many hands to play. So I understand that without a plan nothing good will happen.
So I will be posting here the plan for each week, daily updates of what I study and how many hands I play and every sunday I will summarize the week and set goals for the next week. Hope this will make the process much smoother and to keep me accountable. Also will have a chance to get some advices if I am doing the things right or I am doing something stupid.

I have GTO+ and have plenty of very big sims which will be using to study. Unfortunately my laptop is very weak - 6gb ram and weak weak processor. So it will be hard to run new good sims myself.

Also I will try to keep my dopamine levels low because only the poker things will be over 8 hours a day + I am studying software engineering and will need a lot of discipline in order for things to be ok. Basically I won`t watch any youtube video (which is not for studying purposes), won`t check instargram, facebook or watch any TV until the tasks for the day are ready. I am sure I will mess this things up in the beginning so in the daily posts I will be posting the dopaming things too - if I did them ok or what did I mess.

The minimum volume goal for each week is 15k. Will try to play 2-4k hands a day.

I will post the study plan tomorrow.

Sory for my english

I am starting at 2NLz, hoping this year to get atleast 100NL.

My current bankroll is 70.59$
and this is my graph for the last week maybe. I don`t have tracks for the hands before

Today hands: 2150, +4.78$
I will be tracking hands from today so until Sunday I have to play ~13k more hands.

The study and domapine updates will be from tomorrow.

I will be a bit aggro with the bankroll management for the lowest stakes. I will start playing a stake when I have 20BI for it and will move down if I lose 5BI. I think this should be fine until 10NL (hope even more) because I am playing pretty nitty now (people just don`t bluff or atleast not close to how much they should) and the variance should be pretty low.

Today bad session

I tried to make high volume today and played 4 hours, then lunch 1 hour, and play 1 hour more, but got very tired and tilty. Had some flush over flush, straight vs full house, lost almost all preflop flips and got tilted and started playing bad.
Have to start playing shorter sessions because I am not used to playing more than 1 - 1,5 hours and after this just play bad and lose money.

For the study part - I will start with cbeting IP vs BB. The goal for this week are these flops

This is from yesterday:

I thought I will crush this stake but obviously thats not the case. I am not playing as nitty as I wanted. So I will add 1 hour session a day to review my biggest pots of the day.

Also studied for around 1 hour cbeting. This should be much more. So I will change my schedule. So far I played in the morning up to 1-2 pm and got very tired and couldn`t study effectively after that. So I will start the day with a 3 hour study session, grind after it, and then review the biggest pots.

GLGL. I'd make a strong recommendation to learn about node locking. You'll be amazed at the exploits that are possible in very unbalanced pools

From yestarday:

I had a project for the university, which I was doing the whole day and played some hands in the evening.
I`ll post biggest wins and loses

Here, when he checks OTF, I think his range is only of overcards, maybe some 88, I didn`t think he is ever checking T9. So OTT I bet to deny their equity, when he raises OTT maybe I should fold because I think his range here is AJ, KJ, QJ, maybe some JT, JT, J9(but I think he is betting the last 3 OTF) and some slowplayed 88, didn`t even think about T9 and I don`t think he is raising anything weaker than my hand so I have no reason at all to call here. And OTR I just raise because idk why I didn`t even see there is another possible straight. So here, just had to fold OTT. Given that I`ve called OTT I think the river raise is fine, even with the possibility of higher straight

Here, in theory I gues the preflop float is fine, flop too. OTT I have 11 out vs better A. So I have ~24% equtiy, but I have to have 33% so I think, the turn is a fold.

OTR maybe I should bluffcatch instead of betting

Preflop I flat a lot on the BTN because blinds don`t 3bet bluff enough and this hand plays good IP.
OTF my range is pretty much sets, low pocket pairs and 98. So I think the flop bet is fine.
OTT I think the bet size is too small. I have to pot it and jam the river to effectivly represent the set, here I just give him money with this small bet (btw I am not sure if this is good strategy if he is never folding AJ on the river shove).

Here, when he raises turn his range is 88,K8,A8 maybe FD, the slowplayed 55 are very odd. So the turn is a call, and OTR his range don`t really improve so call again.

Biggest Wins

desotryed AA haha // I know it is not a call preflop

Think, this is ok

This is fine, too

Thanks!

I can`t run nodelock on the current sims, because they are made with lot of ram and I only have 6gb, but I think I can figure out some exploits myself, also in Sunday I will try to summarize what i`ve learned throught the week and will post the possible exploits i`ve found. Also will get PT4 for analyzing database + H2N hud currently not working on the zoom tables. I will consider buying a new PC to run some other sims and use the nodelock.

Your cold call of 77 and jamming is extremely bad.

I don't know why you're leading the J turn with 55.

Also once you bet and get raised. You have RIO on the straight as well as being OOP. You're not going to make much money because he checks back a lot of rivers.

You 3-bet AK and check T63 but c-bet QJx. Bad play. You delay c-bet a T633 board with a showdown hand that can check/call turn. Bad play again. Your call on river is not going to win much money.

My opinion: You call way too much pre-flop and don't really know what to do OOP.

Start to eliminate the loose calls pre-flop and try to understand what boards we should be c-betting and have more checks on.

A5s on BTN is a fold or 3-bet. You should fold @ 2NL.

Your comment actually make me think about my game at all, thanks a lot!

This will be the summary of the week post.

I was actually beating this stakes a bit before making this PG&C(made 20$ to around 150$ on 2nl and a bit 5nl) thats why I thought when I bump up the volume I will just go to 5nl in less than a week. When I read the comment that A5s is a raise or fold against open raise I realized that when I decided to become serious in poker, I started blindly using a GTO preflop ranges (only for open raising and facing an open, I have no idea how to react when I get 3bet, get squeezed or smth else) for 500NL that are extremely wide with a lot of 3bet bluffing, mixing calls and 3bet when facing a bet IP. These ranges are great if you are a good player. The problem is that I have no idea how to play good postflop at all and just ended up playing super wide ranges preflop, which I can`t play postflop and ended up breaking even/losing at 2nl. So I will try to make or find some tight preflop ranges which I will be using by the time I learn the specific spot and can play it postflop. For example I will tight up my BB calling range and BB 3betting range a lot until I learn how to play SRP from the BB and 3bp from the BB. I will continue using the wide opening ranges at least from the BTN and CO (not sure about the LJ and HJ, because I get called a lot from IP and can`t play it postflop), because I am studying cbetting IP vs BB with and will be able to play it postflop correctly.

Also the main thig I learned from the studying sessions (which were far too little) is in a lot of spots where I should be using a big bet (1/2 - 1x pot) for cbetting the BB should be actually folding almost all second pairs and draws (for example on AKT, when btn cbet with 1/2pot size they should be folding a lot of kings, which is something no one does). In spots where a small bet is used they should be folding a lot of A high (for example on KJ9 they should be folding a lot of A highs to a 1/4 pot bet and they are not doing it). And my strategy was pretty much cbetting 1/3 almost always, ending up cbetting a lot of trash hands + they are overcalling, then I stop betting the trash hands OTT and OTR and they just end up wining, or even worse when I have checked the trash hand OTT they bet OTR and I sometimes was calling with the trash aand the results of this are shown above in the comments . And this is an relatively easy spot - cbeting IP vs BB. I don`t even know what a stupid big mistakes I am doing postflop 3betting super wide range from the BB.

So this will be the goals for the next week (actually this week because I am writing this on monday).
1. Find tight preflop ranges for:
  • BB facing a RFI
  • SB facing a RFI
  • Facing a RFI when I am IP

2. Volue goal is at least 5k hands (I will start to study a lot more and play only in the evenings and if I see I can easily beat this limit, I will bump the volume again. There is no point just playing big volume when I am losing)

3. Learn gto cbetting BTN vs BB on all boards + learning exploits for different boards. (pretty ambitious goal, but hopefully it will happen)
