Re: Moving up and grinding a decent roll on Bovada. Possibly future career?

So apparently if you're against me in a 3 bet pot you'll hit your draws. Happened 3 times today. GII post flop twice and once on turn and lost all 3 times. Lost 4 times in a row while dominating at least 75/25. Must be nice to be able to hit your draws, but I can't hit my OESD flush draws with overs. EV line gonna look good. I lost 85 bucks which is ~1.75 BIs, but man, I could've been up so much tonight.

Here's the past week. Made a good amount but could've made a lot more.

Re: Moving up and grinding a decent roll on Bovada. Possibly future career?

Run bad continues when I go all in. Lost AA vs Q 10 AIPF against a shortie. Then vs a guy I had a read on 4 handed. A4 suited on button, SB calls, BB squeezes, I 4 bet, he min 5 bets, I go all in, BB calls with K10, straight on turn. Why do idiots run so good against me? Anyways was able to recover when I hit bottom set on a multiway flop and got 1.6 BI's when both players had top pair on a 4 T K rainbow flop. Won like 10 bucks in about 2 hrs. This runbad can't last forever can it?

Won a buy in. It's really amazing the frequency of idiots who hit their draws with just naked draws on the flop/turn/river where I go all in on the turn with an OESD, and flush draw against an overpair and I completely whiff. Variance can suck my D.

How many hands u play a day? N u gotta get used to variance. I played SNG on Bovada n was a winner n still lost 10 straight multiple times, I'm talking AK<A7 AA<A5o etc. It taught me I didn't understand variance. Being a 60/40 isn't a huge favorite. Ask any sng or tourney player. Also on site lije bovada ppl are gonna chase therefore hit More often. U can't live and die with every flip. U will stress urself way to much. U have to come to grips with variance. SNG did for me. U need to find it way of recognizing how evil variance can be and stop feeling entitled. You are only entitled to your equity. U lose 20 times when u flip AA vs KK. Are you gonna feel cheated every time this happens? Or recognize that what just happens sucks, and tell variance to blow you, and move on

I play about 200-500 a day 4 tabling normal tables M-F and more during Saturday and Sunday.

I was sick last night and called in sick at work and slept in. I probably could've survived at work, but I've been feeling really ragged and tired all the time so I decided to take a day off.

Today, I played a bit over 3 hrs and won 3.5 buy ins. I had one bad beat with top pair vs a gutter and over on the turn and the obv guy hit his over :-\, but other than that, got AI as a dominating favorite and playing very well. I had position on a super whale raising 5x-8x and being a calling station post flop. He was running extremely hot as I 3 bet him 3 times with AQ, and everytime I flopped air and couldn't c bet because I knew he wasn't going to fold. I lost out on huge value when I flopped K high flush and he had a Q high flush on a 2 4 6 K K sss, board, I should've raised when he bet into me hard on the turn, not really sure why I didn't, pretty sure he would've called had I shoved. I lost out in about another 40 dollars in value there. Need to get full value against these whales.

I've been noticing to really thin bet for value, the fish can't seem to fold if they get a piece of the board. Once I hit 2300, I'll playing 100NL. Had I run EV, I'd already be there.

Yea u just don't play lotd of hands so your short term variance is more and u notice it more. Lost of people getting 2k+ minimum a day. 20-30k hand a month is standard minimum for lots of people. So keep your head up n realize it will take longer for your EV to equal out since u don't have lots of volume. Butt keep grinding bro. U got this

Downswings suck in general, but it just seems a lot worse when you're playing normal tables on Bovada and because of the 4 table cap, it's pretty hard to get the necessary volume to get over it quick. I play a pretty nitty style, so to see the fishes run good against me sucks and hitting their stupid draws really piss me off when they're fundamentally playing so poorly, but whenever I attempt to hit a draw, I usually have an over or other draws to help, but I completely whiff it seems all the damn time. Just very frustrating at times.

Oh man what a great day. After a downswing earlier in the week and a slow start to the session due to me having a hard time finding good tables, I ran hot today. Hit sets, got paid, won vs draws, and picked off an all in bluff on a missed draw on a paired board. Mixed in a few hands at NL 100 too. Will start playing 100 NL tomorrow.

Nice job!! Keep it up.

Just got back from a 5 hour live session myself. I had 12 hands that were JJ, QQ, KK or AA. Poker sure is fun when you run good..

Well it's not enough to get good cards, you have to get action too. During my downswing I would get AK, AQ, AA, KK and QQ often enough, but I either didn't get action or the board run out will kill my action/lead me to lose or fold post flop. For example, when I'm running bad I get AK and 3 bet and get a QJ7 cc flop. I really can't cbet this flop with AK very often as it would be -EV against most opponent types.

My first session in 100NL was for about 3 hrs or so and was very roller coaster. Made a bad call pre for no good reason that lost me a buy in. Other than that I think I played very solid. Some observations so far is that the regs at 100NL are either way more aggressive in stealing and betting post flop or way more nitty pre flop, allowing me to steal at will. Either that or I got some bad tables to start haha.

As you can see, I ran real bad at the end of the month but still made a profit.

November has been great so far, hope it keeps going.

Played for an hour and a half and won 38.68. I was up more but a flopped set vs my TPTK and 2 pair vs my TPTK got me for a buy in and a half. Otherwise, another night of me playing solid. Tomorrow is election day, be sure to vote!

Welp, I just went absolutely card dead. Didn't get many good spots and couldn't take advantage of a giant whale in the table that was a giant calling station. QQ and someone got a set on me with JJ. It was a miracle I didn't lose more than half a buy in. Hopefully I run better tomorrow.

Here's a graph of my last week:

Didn't play too much tonight, played some PLO because none of the 100 games were good. Lost a little over a buy in. Lol. Yea I think I'm going to play 50NL during the week. Most of the 100 games are pretty solid during the week.

Didn't play very much, a bit over an hour. Feeling really drained, and plus I've been pretty card dead. Never rely on Andy Dalton/Cincinnati in a big prime time game lol.

I've been hearing regs say that Bovada NL100+ is soft. While I agree to an extent, it's not as super soft as I had hoped. Maybe I'm just not table selecting very well, doesn't help that I'm card dead.

It is really soft, especially if you're looking at it by comparison. My winrate is 4x higher than on ftp/stars. My table selection is any table with 35% or more players per flop, and it seems to work well (you can get 40% at 100nl most of the time). Moving up almost never feels great, unless you run great. Once you get used to the stake, everything is fine.

That's why I try to avoid small shots, I like play 10k+ hands at a stake on a shot just so I can get used to the dollar amount. The games are easy, it's just a matter of getting used to the money, and running good.

You are right, it's soft compared to Stars. However, I've had trouble finding tables at 40% Vpip. It's in the 35% range. Still it's not as soft as I imagined. I've also been card dead as well, hopefully as I play more it'll change.
