Re: Moving up and grinding a decent roll on Bovada. Possibly future career?

Yeah I mean interest rates have been so low for years that it makes more sense to just put your money in an index fund and pay a mortgage as opposed to paying cash. At lease you can build equity and have some kind of return for paying rent in the form or mortgage. Tax benefits are nice as well.

And maintenance is pretty cheap when you buy a brand new home. Been here 8-9 years and I haven't had to replace or repair anything.

To each his own.

Yea you bought your house at a very good time while I bought mine last year. I think that is the difference why we are having a different experience. I bought a relatively clean house (not brand new) and after less than a year, I had to fix couple of minor stuff already. And the value of my house hasn't really gone up much compared to last year while the stock market has gone up significantly.

Yeah that's completely understandable. Probably depends on the market where you purchased too. Like my home value has increased by almost 50% since I bought it. And it's in steady climb. Market is exploding where I live. And I didn't have to do anything but hang my hat here and pay some 3.5% interest which was tax deductible anyhow.

Haha I did buy mine right before the recession so I watched it go into the tank for a few years but it rebounded nicely. And I was the recipient of the first time buyer tax credit at the time which was like $6k ftw. Lol

Wow look like I missed out on some housing discussion. Anyways, my friend's don't post their salary, I just know how much they make based on the positions that they have. I guess if I was happy, I wouldn't be comparing lives since I will be concentrating on my life and not focusing on comparing. The thing is, I'm not sure how to make myself happy. Maybe I should work on that first.

Most people can't do this since they are likely to be moving around looking for a long term career

So I decided to cash out ~90% of my ignition roll and separated it into a sports betting pool, into WPN, and cashed out the rest for a vacation in August/September. Unfortunately the changes to the software isn't very friendly to me IMO plus the software has been pretty crappy lately. I may or may not cash out the rest, I still haven't decided yet.

I've decided to try and grind up in PLO. I know WPN has a lot of regs and it's true even in PLO, but I need the rakeback in order to even try and be profitable. We'll see how this goes. It's really nice to play with a HUD again and to grind more than 4 tables. I've also been researching the SNGs formats that they have. I used to grind SNGs all the time before Black Friday so I may do that in the near future as they have a sng leaderboard that rewards points. Anyways ran pretty pretty good in PLO. I forgot how crazy this game can get.

Re: Moving up and grinding a decent roll on Bovada. Possibly future career?

Loss: -(26.62)

Had a lot of flips and awkward post flops with AAxx that I had to fold, like this one against a pretty nitty reg.

Winning Poker Network (Yatahay) - $0.25 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

MP: $27.37
CO: $34.64
BTN: $22.95
Hero (SB): $91.53
BB: $10.00
UTG: $13.57

Hero posts SB $0.10, BB posts BB $0.25

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.35) Hero has A 6 3 A

fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to $0.75, Hero raises to $2.50, fold, BTN calls $1.75

Flop: ($5.25, 2 players) 8 T 4
Hero bets $3.25, BTN raises to $14.50, fold

BTN wins $11.17

$0.18 was deducted from the pot for the jackpot.

This spot I debated for a bit, but I ended up folding as the raiser was the same nitty reg from the first hand. Had I 3 bet pre with this, would've been an easy call/shove.

Winning Poker Network (Yatahay) - $0.25 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

MP: $26.68
CO: $19.56

UTG: $13.61

Hero posts SB $0.10, BB posts BB $0.25

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.35) Hero has 8 J 9 K

fold, fold, CO raises to $0.85, BTN calls $0.85, Hero calls $0.75, fold

Flop: ($2.80, 3 players) 3 J 5
Hero checks, CO bets $2.66, BTN raises to $7.00, fold, fold

BTN wins $7.72

$0.12 was deducted from the pot for the jackpot.

I would've got it in if one of the other cards was a 10 for the pivot/additional backdoor equity.

Re: Moving up and grinding a decent roll on Bovada. Possibly future career?

Damn, 5 months since I've updated. I haven't been playing very much. Some personal updates for me. I moved to a nicer area and got a new job that pays me 25% more, which is the reason I haven't been posting as I don't want to go on 2+2 at my new job.

I ran pretty bad at 200 NL, but my database crashed so I lost a majority of my hands. Haven't played regularly and haven't played in almost 6 weeks. I might get back into it, but looks like Ignition/Bovada are still having massive software problems which is a shame. I'm trying to get into something else besides poker, possibly options trading, but still haven't decided yet, as I'm still doing research/learning about it. I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
